The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book:Long Cardigans & Link Up On the Edge #136

Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book!

Welcome! This is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book. Over a year ago, Nancy and I started The Bad Buy Book, a monthly series about our worst purchases. It was a lot of fun to do and we both learned something from it, too! Nancy learned that off-white against her face is not the most flattering color. And I learned that I have a serious problem resisting a good thrift shop find when it comes to pieces that fit “good enough” but “not quite right.” However, after running that series for a year, we decided to change it a bit.

For this series, you can choose whether you want to share a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye (which is an item you are going to say good-bye to, previously known as a Bad Buy). We will keep purchasing Bad Buys every now and then for a variety of reasons…it was so cheap, you were in a hurry and really wanted (needed) to buy something, it fit almost quite right. But, of course, we also have those purchases that can make us so very happy. A piece of clothing that you have had for years and that you also wear a lot. Or something you bought on a holiday and every time you wear it you get that nostalgic holiday feeling back. Every month you can choose which item you want to submit. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide the theme for each month. Photos should be submitted to us by the 10th of the month with a few sentences explaining why it is a Good Buy or Good-Bye.

And now without further delay, won’t you check out all the lovely long cardigan looks that you have submitted this month…good buys and good-byes…they are all fun to see!

Let’s begin with my co-host, Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style, with her Good Buy Long Cardigan.

Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style

“This one is from Primark but a good quality, I like the color and the splits, it’s a very Good Buy.”

Next is Bettye of Fashion Schlub with one her favorite Long Cardigans…a Good Buy, for sure.

Bettye of Fashion Schlub

“This was an easy one for me because I LIVE in long cardigans! I love them over dresses because the lengths of the two items match up almost exactly and I love them over pants/jeans because they totally cover up the entire butt/hips area. Here’s a pic showing a favorite Old Navy long cardigan worn both ways – DEFINITELY a Good Buy. Such a good buy, I have two others just like it in black and camel.”

And now Jodie of Jodie’s Touch of Style sharing not only a Good Buy, but a thrifted Good Buy!

Jodie of Jodie’s Touch of Style

“Here’s my photo for my long cardigan. I recently thrifted this one while I was helping Nancy shop. Ha ha…that goes to show that it’s hard for me not to look for cute things. I fell in love with the collar, and it’s a Chicos brand.”

Next is Claudia of Claudia’s Welt with her very Good Buy Long Cardigan.

Claudia of Claudia’s Welt

“This Long Cardigan was definitively a Good Buy! A good long cardigan is the perfect, timeless piece for both Spring, Fall and cool Summer nights. I simply throw one of my long cardigans over my look, and I have my ideal layer! And they’re all so comfy.”

Now we have Rama of Chez Rama also with a Good Buy Long Cardigan.

Rama of Chez Rama

“I am a big fan of a cardigan, I wear them all year long. Therefore, when I spot a style I love, I would snag it right away. I got this gray cardigan with open stitches and I have been wearing it since fall of last year. The quality and the style flatters any look. Plus, it is easy to style since it is natural. It is totally a good buy.”

“I have this one from Eva Trends.  I love both the length and colour of this long line cardigan, also the design is really pretty.”

And now one of my favorite ever Long Cardigans.

Shelbee of Shelbee on the Edge

“This burgundy crochet duster cardigan is absolutely a Good Buy. I purchased this years ago at Cato Fashions and actually paid full price (which I rarely do). But I loved it that much! The crochet pattern and the duster length create the perfect amount of drama. And the open knit allows it to be worn basically all year if layered properly.”
