The Good Buy/Good-Bye Bookis a monthly series hosted by Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style and myself. Every month, we invite you to share a photo or two of your Good (or Bad) Buy items that fit the stated theme. We ask that you also provide a short description explaining if the item you are sharing was a Good Buy or one that you will be saying Good-Bye to (formerly known as Bad Buys). Nancy and I will both publish a round up post featuring all of the submissions on the 15th of each month.
Anyone who would like to participate and be featured can send us their photos with a short description via email. You do not have to be a blogger to join. Anyone is welcome! We will give you the theme for the next month at the conclusion of each post. Photos will be due to us by the 10th of the month.
The theme for January is Sneakers and we received lots of fun submissions this round. Now let’s hit the ground running and kick off this new year in our best sneaker styles!
*If you sent me a photo, but do not see it in my post, be sure to check Nancy’s post. If you don’t see your photo on either post, please let us know right away and we will add it. Sometimes the submissions can get lost in the shuffle.
You are invited to join us in February to share your favorite (or least favorite) knit dresses. You are welcome to send two photos if you’d like to be featured on both blogs. Remember to include a brief description about your submissions. Please submit your photos and descriptions by the 10th of February to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to info@nancysfashionstyle.com so we can put you in the spotlight.
*By joining The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book, you agree to receive a monthly reminder email for this series.
I am a midlife woman, wife, and stay-at-home mother of 2 boys and 2 cats. I have a passion for helping other women feel fabulous in the midst of this crazy, beautiful life.
Ah, I didn’t get my Sneaker act together in time.
I don’t wear them much either. I went through a patch of buying a bunch of Keds’ style off Poshmark (including one of my Worst Buys, that were stinky and I threw them away immediately). I find they are just not right for me — too hot in the summer, too cold in the winter. I’m liking clogs better when I need utilitarian footwear.
That said, I had a Most Comfortable pair of suede/padded Converse that I wore to death in the 00s and early 10s.
AND
I loved my platform sneakers in the mid 90s. I even hiked up Blue Mountain in a pair!
You can still send me your sneakers submission! I’ll add it in. I love the way sneakers look from a style perspective…on everyone but me! I remember wearing cute little platform sneakers with slip dresses in the late 90s and I was super excited when that trend rolled back around. Like you though, I don’t find sneakers very utilitarian at all either. I wear my Birkies and my rope sandals in the summer and boots in the winter. And since I don’t go to a gym to exercise, I do that barefoot in my living room, I don’t have much use for sneakers at all. They will be cleaned out very soon! Who wears a size 10?????
I have always been a Converse girl, Tamar! I don’t wear them often, but I might have almost a dozen different pairs of Converse. Eek. That’s unnecessary. What size shoes do you wear??? I’ll send you a few pairs!
The funny thing is I used to think sneakers were only for working out. I’m so glad that my thinking has evolved because they look so good with everything,

Evolved thinking is a magical thing, isn’t it, my friend?! Hahaha. I loved all of these fun sneaker styles and I love how we all support each other wearing whatever the heck we want! Thanks for joining us!
I love seeing all these fabulous sneakers, Shelbee! I sent two different photos to you and Nancy but I know you’ve been so busy so don’t worry if it just got missed (or perhaps I sent it to the wrong address lol!!). No worries at all though.
Huge hugs, my friend

Thanks, Suzy! I looked through my emails and I don’t see one from you. Did you send both to Nancy? She would have sent me one though. If you email it to me again, I will add it into the post. That’s easy peasy!
Wonderful show of some great looking sneakers. I have probably 16 pairs of white canvas sneakers because that’s all I wear in the summer. I always pair my sneaker with leggings as I have at least 40 pairs of leggings which I could and do wear everyday. There is nothing better then to be comfortable in the clothes you wear and don’t let anyone bust your bubble. Sneakers are just the best. Thanks again for the invite!
Thanks so much, Jamie! I am so glad that you joined us again this month! Hopefully, we have other themes in that future that will appeal to you as well. The more the merrier! You are always welcome.
So many cute sneakers! I love those vans you bought.. but I wouldn’t end up wearing them much either. I rarely think to reach for sneakers of any kind. I’m pretty excited about having to wear my knit dresses this coming month though. I rarely think to reach for dresses of any kind either!
There were so many cute sneakers in this one. Thanks for joining us! I am looking forward to seeing the knit dresses next month. And maybe even some knit dresses paired with cute sneakers!

So many great options and styling ideas for sneakers. It’s hard to imagine a time when they were just worn for sports and not in everyday attire.
