The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Sandals

Sandals. The essential summer shoe choice. As we are experiencing record high temperatures all around the world this summer, our tootsies need a little breathing room! Thanks to everyone who has shared their summer sandals with us for this edition of The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book.

The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book

The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book is a monthly series hosted by Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style and myself. Every month, we invite you to share a photo or two of your Good (or Bad) Buy items that fit the stated theme. We ask that you also provide a short description explaining if the item you are sharing was a Good Buy or one that you will be saying Good-Bye to (formerly known as Bad Buys). Nancy and I will both publish a round up post featuring all of the submissions on the 15th of each month.

Anyone who would like to participate and be featured can send us their photos with a short description via email. You do not have to be a blogger to join. Anyone is welcome! We will give you the theme for the next month at the conclusion of each post. Photos will be due to us by the 10th of the month.

If you sent me a photo, but do not see it in my post, be sure to check Nancy’s post. If you don’t see your photo in either post, please let us know right away and we will add it. Sometimes the submissions get lost in the shuffle.

“I have so many sandals, and I love them all. But let me show you the ones I bought this season. I am a sucker for anything gold. So I could not leave these behind. They also have golden studs! And super comfy. Definitely a very Good Buy!”

“This outfit is in blue and white with a subtle metallic pewter sandal. I really like the interesting asymmetrical style of these strappy substantial sandals with a darker slightly conical heel. I purchased these to wear with several casual outfits. Soon after, I had to retire them from casual wear, since I injured my back and have to lower my heel height for everyday wear. I am keeping them in my closet though, I think I can adapt them to a dressier look, that would not require long periods of standing. All in all, I like these sandals a lot and consider them a good buy, I just need to wear them for short term standing situations!”

“I really can’t resist a comfy pair of flip flops when the summer weather hits and I’m even worse if those flip flops have some fun sparkles like these green ones. I have been so surprised how much use I’ve gotten out of them already. I wasn’t sure how often I’d reach for green sandals but it turns out they seem to go with nearly everything in my summer closet. They have been such a good buy!”

“Since I sent Nancy the photo of the colorful sandals that I love, it’s only fair that I share a neutral pair that has grabbed my heart. They have a boho vibe, and I love the warm cognac color.”

“I actually love these sandals! They are the perfect height, have beautiful details, and fit really well. The problem is they don’t stay on my feet! I would love to figure out a way to add a back strap!”

Up Next for August: Maxi Dresses

According to the Wikipedia page on Dresses, the term maxi dress has been in use since the 1960s in reference to ankle length dresses that are usually informal. But a formal ankle length dress would also be considered a maxi except I think we generally call long formal dresses gowns. However, it appears that a gown can be anywhere from knee to ankle length. But let’s not get hung up on linguistics. Just send us your favorite (or least favorite) long dresses. The longer the dress, the more maxi it is!

If you would like to join us for this round, all you have to do is take a photo or two and email them to us with a brief description about why your maxi dress is a Good Buy or a Good-Bye. You are welcome to submit two photos if you’d like to be featured on both blogs. Please email your photos and descriptions by the 10th of August to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to info@nancysfashionstyle.com so we can add you to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book. And be sure to stop back on August 15, 2026, to see what everyone shares.
