The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Knit Dresses

Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book!

The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book is a monthly series hosted by Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style and myself. Every month, we invite you to share a photo or two of your Good (or Bad) Buy items that fit the stated theme. We ask that you also provide a short description explaining if the item you are sharing was a Good Buy or one that you will be saying Good-Bye to (formerly known as Bad Buys). Nancy and I will both publish a round up post featuring all of the submissions on the 15th of each month.

Anyone who would like to participate and be featured can send us their photos with a short description via email. You do not have to be a blogger to join. Anyone is welcome! We will give you the theme for the next month at the conclusion of each post. Photos will be due to us by the 10th of the month.

The theme for February is Knit Dresses which includes sweater dresses, tee shirt dresses, and any other knit fabric tailored into the shape of dress! Thanks to all the fabulous people who joined us this month!

*If you sent me a photo, but do not see it in my post, be sure to check Nancy’s post. If you don’t see your photo on either post, please let us know right away and we will add it. Sometimes the submissions can get lost in the shuffle.

“This knit dress is such a perfect one, although it’s not very thick. The knotted detail on the belly area is great as knitted dresses tend to show too much. And I love the colour. Never wore it like this though. But I think that blazers and sneakers are a very good combination, no matter what you wear with it. Definitely a Good Buy!”

“This killer orange sweater dress is by Zara and I bought it second-hand during the pandemic to cheer myself up. It works! I like my sweater dresses a little bit loose and with some fun style, like the front slit that shows off my boots. A dress that makes me feel happy is always a Good Buy!”

“I think I got this Uniqlo heavyweight 100% cotton jersey dress in 2017.
It is my go-to for air travel.
In this photo, I’m all packed and ready to leave Houston, October 2019.
It’s also good for doctor visits: short sleeves = easy access for blood pressure cuffs.
Extremely Good Buy!”

“This black sweater dress that I purchased on Amazon was so short when it came in that I nearly said ‘good-bye’ but then I realized it was the perfect length to wear with leggings. I wear it all the time and it has been such a good buy. It’s nice and thick and warm and I love that it has two little pockets! I paired it with some green leggings and a black/green scarf.”

“This ivory sweater dress was a good buy! I like the color and length and even wore it for family photos this past fall.”

“I remember ordering this dress and wondering what I was thinking. A bodycon dress for me, an old woman? LOL. But I have to admit that I have worn it much more than I thought I would, and still love it to this day!! I find it’s one of those dresses that is easy to layer on top of especially in the winter months.”

“Awesome buy, perfect color, can be dressed up or down, so versatile, winter white is so chic.”

Good Buy

“I found this little black cowl neck sweater dress at my local consignment shop a few years ago and it is one of my husband’s favorite dresses on me. I feel pretty great in it, too! And it is super warm which is required if I am going to wear a dress in winter. Definitely a Good Buy!”

Good-Bye

“This red cable knit sweater dress (from Old Navy), however, was not a Good Buy and I said Good-Bye to it in my most recent closet clean out. It is a cute enough dress and I love the color, but the style is utterly unflattering on me. I wore it only once and never reached for it again so I ditched it. I am sure it will serve its next owner much better!”
