The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Jewelry with a Story & Link Up On the Edge #304
Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book!
This is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book. A series that I co-host with Nancy where you can choose whether you want to share a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye (which is an item you are going to say good-bye to, previously known as a Bad Buy). Every month you can choose which item you want to submit. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide the theme for each month. Photos should be submitted to us by the 10th of the month with a few sentences explaining why it is a Good Buy or Good-Bye.
The theme for July is Jewelry with a Story. We asked you to share your special pieces of jewelry that have sentimental meaning or simply fun stories attached to them, where they came from, and why you love or hate to wear them.
*If you sent me a photo, but do not see it in my post, be sure to check Nancy’s post. If you don’t see your photo on either post, please let us know right away and we will add it. Sometimes the submissions can get lost in the shuffle.
Now let’s read some jewelry stories!
Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style
Sheila of Ephemera
Michelle of My Bijou Life
Jodie of Jodie’s Touch of Style
And Me!
Thank you to all the lovely ladies who shared their special jewelry stories with us. I hope you all enjoyed reading them! Be sure to head on over to Nancy’s post to for more Jewelry Stories.
Up Next: Beachwear or Resort Wear
For August’s Good Buy/Good-Bye Book, we invite to share your favorite (or least favorite) summer beachwear or resort wear. It can be swim suits or cover ups or beach bags or sun hats or sunglasses. Whatever you would wear to the beach or to a summer resort getaway that you feel moved to share!
You are welcome to send two photos if you’d like to be featured on both blogs. Remember to include a brief description about your submissions. Please submit your photos and descriptions by the 10th of August to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to info@nancysfashionstyle.com so we can put you in the spotlight.
*By joining The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book, you agree to receive a monthly reminder email for this series.

I am the same with picking up jewelry from travels! I love to have that memory and will probably do the same in Italy! Such lovely pieces each of you are wearing and it is also a way to remember someone as well.
Have a great weekend!

Thanks, Jess! Jewelry really does make the best souvenirs from traveling. I almost always end up with multiple pieces whenever I travel. I just remembered the three necklaces that I got for myself in Iceland. One is a Thor pendant which is super cool and the other two are Viking rune symbols for strength and wisdom. I wear them often but rarely photograph them. But they are really special pieces to me! I hope you have a wonderful weekend, my friend.

It’s so fun to read everyone’s story and their jewelry. I don’t wear much jewelry so I forget just how intimate it can be. But I also forget that it’s an awesome accessory to have because of the statement they can make! I hope your week is going well and happy Friday!

Thanks, Maureen! I thought all the jewelry stories were really interesting, too. I really have quite a bit of it that has special stories. I am always adding new unique jewelry pieces. It’s the first thing I tend to look at these days when I go shopping anywhere. I hope you enjoy your weekend, my friend!

Ok. Your pink dress is so much cuteness on you. That was definitely a good buy. I WISH I’d made a good buy on a new swimsuit this year because last year’s were bad this summer. I saved them because I thought they were great last year. But one smells like chlorine still, and one has twisty strapped that couldn’t hold up to the washer. So yeah..Rambling…Thanks for hosting!
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Aw, thanks so much, April! I found that cute pink dress at a thrift shop for just a few dollars! You should look for a new swimsuit now…they are probably all on all sale at this point. I haven’t bought a new swimsuit in a few years. But I only wear them like once or twice a summer and sometimes not at all. It’s a bummer when these things can’t withstand regular washing! I hope you are having a lovely weekend!

Carol
Hello, Shelbee – It’s delightful to see the jewelry pieces that various bloggers feature in this post and to read their backstories. Like you, I make it a habit to buy a few intriguing jewelry pieces when I travel. They’re lightweight and easy to pack when it’s time to return home. On my recent trip to England, Wales, and Scotland, I picked up a couple of earring/necklace sets featuring “jet” from the North Sea near Whitby. Also — a nice brooch/pin and a couple of fun bracelets. These pieces of jewelry will always remind me of that wonderful trip.
Thank you for participating in Talent-Sharing Tuesdays Link-Up 25.

Thank you, Carol! I love that you found special pieces of jewelry during this recent trip to always remind of your time in the UK. I have the same feelings about jewelry as souvenirs…it is easy to transport back home and it’s generally not terribly expensive but still carries much sentimental meaning. Especially when it features something unique to the area you are visiting, like your earrings and necklace made from North Sea jet. I have three necklaces that I bought on a trip to Iceland. One is the figure of Thor and the other two are the Viking rune symbols for strength and wisdom. I wear them often when I need more strength and/or wisdom and every time I put them on, I am reminded of the beautiful country of Iceland. I would love to go back there one day!
