The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Embroidery & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up On the Edge #683

Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book!

The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book is a monthly series hosted by Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style and myself. Every month, we invite you to share a photo or two of your Good (or Bad) Buy items that fit the stated theme. We ask that you also provide a short description explaining if the item you are sharing was a Good Buy or one that you will be saying Good-Bye to (formerly known as Bad Buys). Nancy and I will both publish a round up post featuring all of the submissions on the 15th of each month.

Anyone who would like to participate and be featured can send us their photos with a short description via email. You do not have to be a blogger to join. Anyone is welcome! We will give you the theme for the next month at the conclusion of each post. Photos will be due to us by the 10th of the month.

December is the perfect month for extra adornments and attention to details so we have chosen Embroidery including appliqué as our theme for 2023’s last Good Buy/Good-Bye Book. If you have any themes that you would like to see covered in this series, please let me know in the comments! You can see all the different styles we have featured in previous posts here.

Thank you to everyone who joined us this month. It is always fun to see your different styles and unique personalities. If you sent me a photo, but do not see it in my post, be sure to check Nancy’s post. If you don’t see your photo in either post, please let us know right away and we will add it. Sometimes the submissions can get lost in the shuffle.

“This corduroy very dark green skirt with lovely embroidered little flowers was part of a collaboration. So I can’t say it was a Good Buy, but it certainly was a Good Gift! It has pockets and the perfect lenght for me. I always get compliments when I wear this skirt!”

“This black velvet blazer showed up in 2011 in a local consignment shop for $40 and this is its 23rd wearing – it’s definitely been a good buy! I love the cotton velvet, and the multicoloured embroidered floral design. I’m a sucker for anything embellished but embroidery always makes me swoon!”

“This embroidered denim top was a good buy. It matches many things and the embroidery is a really fun touch!”

“The plaid shirt is by Caite and Kyla pieces I scored on Poshmark a few years ago. Love it!”

“This piece is worn in an outfit from the spring. It is a white and royal blue floral embroidered blouse and I have loved unpacking it with my spring and summer wardrobe each year for six seasons, now. Embroidery adds such a special touch to an everyday outfit, and I never get tired of it. I think it was a good buy, too!”

“Technically I guess this sweater can’t be a good buy since I didn’t buy it! My mom made it for me and while the fit isn’t the best since I have lost a bunch of weight since she made it, I just can not make myself say good by to it. The sweater is nice and thick and warm and I am in love with the embroidery detail on the back. Since the sweater is a bit baggy, I often pair it with something more fitting like leggings.”

“This embroidery denim jacket I bought goes under a Good-Bye. It has to do with how it wouldn’t fit into my existing wardrobe. And I don’t wear denim jackets often. The pattern was interesting enough to make the purchase when I was reacting, but not enough to keep it.”

“I still haven’t made up my mind about this silk embroidered skirt. I have had it for about 7 years and have only worn it once. It is such a pretty color and I love embroidery but I don’t wear skirts often especially in this style. So it was probably not the best buy ever but I can’t say Good-Bye to it quite yet either.”
