The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Combat Pants
Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book!
The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book is a monthly series hosted by Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style and myself. Every month, we invite you to share a photo or two of your Good (or Bad) Buy items that fit the stated theme. We ask that you also provide a short description explaining if the item you are sharing was a Good Buy or one that you will be saying Good-Bye to (formerly known as Bad Buys). Nancy and I will both publish a round up post featuring all of the submissions on the 15th of each month.
Anyone who would like to participate and be featured can send us their photos with a short description via email. You do not have to be a blogger to join. Anyone is welcome! We will give you the theme for the next month at the conclusion of each post. Photos will be due to us by the 10th of the month.
The theme for March is Combat Pants, also called Cargo Pants or Utility Pants. You can even share shorts with cargo pockets or even dresses and skirts with combat details (like Nancy’s), I suppose. Maybe we should have expanded the theme to Cargo Bottoms or Things with Cargo Pockets! But as you know, we are not picky. A huge thanks to all the fabulous people who joined us this month. There were only a few, but we appreciate you!
*If you sent me a photo, but do not see it in my post, be sure to check Nancy’s post. If you don’t see your photo on either post, please let us know right away and we will add it. Sometimes the submissions can get lost in the shuffle.

Up Next: Ballet Flats
You are invited to join us in April to share your favorite (or least favorite) Ballet Flats. You are welcome to send two photos if you’d like to be featured on both blogs. Remember to include a brief description about your submissions. Please submit your photos and descriptions by the 10th of April to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to info@nancysfashionstyle.com so we can put you in the spotlight.
*By joining The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book, you agree to receive a monthly reminder email for this series.

What cute looks on everyone! I will try to remember this one. I have some flats but not ballet flats.

Thanks, Marsha! Yes, please, join us for the next one! Whatever your interpretation of ballet flats is, go with it!

I have never seen a combat / cargo style dress or pink combat cargo pants. Very cool!

Thanks, Michelle! Nancy also has an amazing cargo skirt that I am swooning over! And Jodie’s pink cargo pants make me smile!

Well, I took you literally and have no cargo pants.
DO have tops with pockets! Oh well…
Enjoyed seeing all the interpretations… especially Jamie’s! Heehee.
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Oh goodness, never take me literally, Anne! I even say that in the beginning of these posts! Haha. We are very flexible with interpretations around here. That’s what makes it so fun! If you send me a shirt with some cargo pockets, I will add it in!

After reading all the comments, it got me thinking…
A top with lots of pockets is more commonly known as a Safari style, not a Cargo style.
And therein lies all our confusion and lack of contributions.
Anne M Bray
“Cargo Pockets” would have also been clearer.
Writing a SpyGirl post now.

Heck, we should have just said bring on the pockets! I do believe that’s what we were going for. Bu maybe I didn’t quite understand what we were going for! #potheadproblems

Well, you know, I would never kick anyone out of my party for being confused by the theme! Haha. I feel like safari pockets are different from cargo or combat pockets although I suppose they would function exactly the same way. So many confusing terms in the world of fashion!

What the heck is a “Combat” pocket anyway?
Goes to The Google…
…
…
They are the same as Cargo/Safari… basically a pocket with a flap and maybe a pleat.
It’s all semantics.
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Hahahaha. A pocket is a pocket is a pocket. I am cracking up that you Googled it! I just had to Google the difference between oceans, seas, bays, and gulfs. One would think it should be easy to distinguish. But like pockets, water semantics are also confusing!
Nancy
I liked this theme a lot, but not a lot of women do I think. It had to grow on me too.
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
I think it was a fun theme, Nancy! But maybe not everyone hopped on this trend train yet!

I’m surprised there weren’t more entries with the cargo pants. But I love how they are making a comeback on the fashion scene.
I love how you included a cargo dress too Shelbee…always good to think outside the box, And thanks for the feature at the top.
XOXO

Thanks so much, Jodie! It is a bit surprising that we didn’t have more people play along for this one. We probably should have made it broader and went with cargo styles not just pants. Oh well, it was still fun! Everyone looks fabulous in their combat/cargo styles.

Rena
Shelbee,
I’m so surprised that this theme didn’t garner more contributors. I adore cargo pants and jackets or any garment with lots of pockets.

I was a little surprised, too, Rena. Thank you so much for joining us! I do love big cargo pockets, too, but I don’t have very many cargo pants. We should have maybe made the theme a little broader to incorporate all things cargo.

Joanne
SO many cute cargo looks! I used to have loads and loads of cargo pants but mostly and down to a few cargo capris for spring and summer now and have somehow not replaced any of the pants as I’ve gone down in size. I also don’t own a single pair of ballet flats– I keep trying them on but just do not like how they look and feel on me’ but I look so foward to seeing what everyone else comes up with !!
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Thanks so much, Joanne! I was surprised that we didn’t get more cargo pants for this one! I actually have a lot of ballet flats that I never wear. I am going to use this post as an opportunity to clean them out, I think! Maybe I will take a bunch of photos before ditching most of them! Stay tuned…

You didn’t actually purge that great looking corduroy dress with the pockets did you? I realize corduroy has no stretch to it but where will you ever find another corduroy dress with front pockets like the one your wearing in your photo? The dress looks great on you and the pockets are a huge plus when it comes to dresses. Maybe I will come across it in a Thrift shop some day.
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Ha. Thanks so much for joining us, Jamie! I do believe I ditched the dress but I haven’t checked my closet to confirm. I do hope someone else rediscovers it and loves it as much as I did!
