How to Transition Your Winter Wardrobe to Spring & Link Up On the Edge #33
In just a few short weeks, I will be holding my very first styling seminars at a fabulous local event…The 2nd Annual Girls’ Weekend Getaway hosted by a local fundraising group Helping Hands/Making It Count Event Planners. The Girls’ Weekend Getaway will be held March 31-April 2 at the Ramada Inn in Watertown, New York. You can read more about the details on the event’s Facebook page. I am super excited about this opportunity to help other women rediscover their edge! One of the seminars I will be leading will be How to Transition Your Wardrobe from Winter to Spring. And my outfit today is a perfect example of how…

The World Is Your Oyster & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #10
Did you ever hear that phrase? It is one that I have carried with me for many, many years. There once was a very influential man in my life…when I was in my mid-twenties. I was going through a divorce. I was still trying to discover myself. I was trying to figure out the person whom I wanted to be. I was working full time and going to law school at night. I was driven. I was determined. I was spiraling out of control. Much of this period in my life is really just a blur. It is sort of unfortunate that I don’t recollect much of it. Or maybe…

Comfortable in My Own Skin and #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #9
Do you ever just not feel comfortable with your own body? Nothing fits right? Nothing feels right? And you get stuck in a style rut of baggy ill-fitting clothing that will simply hide it all? This has happened to me…especially since having children and turning 40. My body is not what it was 20 years ago, 15 years ago, or even 10 years ago. Even in my mid-30’s when I had reached a weight and clothing size that was quite foreign to my former athletic self, I still was able to comfortably wear tight tops and even tuck them in. Then I had children, then I turned 40, then perimenopause…

COTD & Link Up On the Edge #30
What is COTD, you may be wondering… Well, it stands for Colors of the Day and it is a super fun daily challenge hosted by a fabulously stylish couple in Oregon, Mercedes and Andy. Every Monday through Friday, they choose 2 colors/patterns/themes and challenge us to post photos of outfits, art work, nature, just about anything really, that combines the two colors, patterns, or themes. Not only are the challenges fun, but they get you thinking and being creative with your closet. And…the members of the group who participate are probably the most sincere, most genuine, most creative, most colorful, most supportive, and kindest group of people you will likely…

Chambray Shirt Dress and #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #8
Today, I want to highlight this fabulous light chambray shirt dress that just came into Shelbee’s Shoppe. I love the A-line shape of it, making it perfect for wearing as a jacket over another dress, which is my favorite way to wear any shirt dress. There are two reasons for this. 1. I am a huge fan of layering. It creates more interesting dimensions in an outfit, provides extra warmth, and hides all sorts of imperfections. 2. As a girl with a big boobs, shirt dresses rarely button without gaping, so the best solution I have found to these #bigboobproblems is to just wear all button downs (shirts and dresses…

Mixing Up Patterns with Zaful & Link Up On the Edge #29
Lately, I have really been on a pattern mixing kick and I have been trying to add some brighter colors to my outfits, too. So when I saw this Paisley Printed Fleece Coat from Zaful, I knew it needed to be mine! *Coat and necklace were gifted to me from Zaful in exchange for a review. All opinions stated in this post are my own and are in no way influenced by the company. When it arrived, I was even more pleased with the coat then I was from the pictures. The colors are super vibrant and the print is so adorable and fun. The fabric is a light twill…

Charcoal Duster, Link Up On the Edge #28 & The Winners Are…
Before I get to the winners of the Shelbee’s Shoppe Scarf Giveaway and your favorites from last week’s link up, I need to share this fabulous new charcoal duster with you as well as another little critter story. This gorgeous duster just arrived in Shelbee’s Shoppe! I love how perfectly it layers over a body-con dress to create drama and cover my problem areas! It also looks amazing over black leggings and a long slim black tunic. And it flows oh so perfectly to make you feel like a modern day princess! But enough about this amazing piece of apparel (and it is AMAZING)…I do need to share another little critter…

My Foxy Snood and #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #5
It has been a few weeks since my last #SpreadTheKindness Link Up, but I am finally getting back on track and today I present you with my new foxy snood! My snood is a bit wonky because the pattern is upside down. But this is what I love about my fun snood. It’s little imperfection is what makes it perfectly suited to me. After all, isn’t it so important to embrace all of our little imperfections? Isn’t it our imperfections that make us unique and special diamonds in the rough, so to speak? Our quirks, our strange little habits, our eccentricities, and all of our differences are what make this…

Winter Florals and a Story About Critters
It’s never dull during North Country winters. From the bitter, bitter cold to lake effect snow to little critters seeking shelter and food, there’s always a story to tell. Today, I am going to share one of these stories. And a cute winter floral dress straight from Shelbee’s Shoppe. As I type this, it is currently a balmy 3 degrees Fahrenheit outside with a total accumulation of approximately 30 inches of snow on the ground from two (maybe three) lake effect snow bands that hit us late in the week. When the cold and snow hit, we all seek shelter and stay inside the warmth of our homes. But we,…

Happy Holidays and a Holiday Blogging Break
I want to wish you all a very happy holiday season! I hope your days are filled with family, love, and joy. I am going to take a short blogging break this next week or two during which time I will be working on reformatting my blog to accommodate Shelbee’s Shoppe online. So if you stop by during that time and it’s all a mess, please bear with me. I will get this thing up and running as soon as I can! Also, wish me luck…because this reformatting thing is for sure going to kick my butt! I will see you all in the new year! Be merry and bright!…
