My St. Patrick’s Day Post and #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #14
With St. Patrick’s Day this week, I thought I would share with you a festive outfit that was photographed a few weeks ago. Honestly, it has been so cold here that I have not taken an outfit photo since last week. And now we are sitting in this crazy blizzard that is currently hitting the northeastern United States. So I have been basically wearing jeans, sweaters, snow boots, and a giant down-filled, fur-lined puffer coat if I have to leave my house at all! I have worn this black and white maxi tee shirt dress on the blog before but always in the warmer weather (here and here). But I…

Feeling Seussical & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #13
March 2 marked the birthday of Theodor Seuss Geisel, more famously known as Dr. Seuss. My children’s schools are celebrating all things Dr. Seuss for the entire month of March, so I thought I would honor the great man by sharing with you my favorite Dr. Seuss book and a very Seussically-inspired outfit! Marvin K. Mooney Will You Please Go Now is the book that my father used to read to me every time we would visit the dentist’s office when I was a child. I was terrified of the dentist and it was his way of calming me. There was a very beat up copy of this book in…

#SpreadTheKindness Link Up #12
Thanks to everyone who joins my #SpreadTheKindness movement every week. I really appreciate your continued support! And your favorites from last week… Susan of Over 50 Under 20 shared some amazing Shopping Tips inspired by another fabulous blogger who has previously been featured in my link ups…Julia of When the Girls Rule. These are some really helpful tips especially the last one… “SIXTH, and most important, when you’re in the dressing room and you try on something that doesn’t work, repeat to yourself, ‘It’s not me. It’s the clothes.’” Linda of A Labour of Life shows in her very own adorable way that you can wear whatever the heck you…

Feeling Whimsical with Rosegal & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #11
Merriam-Webster defines whimsical as lightly fanciful or subject to erratic behavior or unpredictable change. The dichotomy between these two separate definitions just gave me a right hearty chuckle. While I am feeling lightly fanciful in this adorable lacy dress from Rosegal, I am simultaneously suffering from yet another whimsical decision made by the Army! Any member of the military or their dependents reading this knows exactly what I mean. Yes, my friends, the Army is classic for its erratic behavior and unpredictable changes. And we members of the military community suffer all too often at its whim! *Disclosure: This dress was provided to me for review. All opinions and thoughts…

The World Is Your Oyster & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #10
Did you ever hear that phrase? It is one that I have carried with me for many, many years. There once was a very influential man in my life…when I was in my mid-twenties. I was going through a divorce. I was still trying to discover myself. I was trying to figure out the person whom I wanted to be. I was working full time and going to law school at night. I was driven. I was determined. I was spiraling out of control. Much of this period in my life is really just a blur. It is sort of unfortunate that I don’t recollect much of it. Or maybe…

Comfortable in My Own Skin and #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #9
Do you ever just not feel comfortable with your own body? Nothing fits right? Nothing feels right? And you get stuck in a style rut of baggy ill-fitting clothing that will simply hide it all? This has happened to me…especially since having children and turning 40. My body is not what it was 20 years ago, 15 years ago, or even 10 years ago. Even in my mid-30’s when I had reached a weight and clothing size that was quite foreign to my former athletic self, I still was able to comfortably wear tight tops and even tuck them in. Then I had children, then I turned 40, then perimenopause…

Chambray Shirt Dress and #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #8
Today, I want to highlight this fabulous light chambray shirt dress that just came into Shelbee’s Shoppe. I love the A-line shape of it, making it perfect for wearing as a jacket over another dress, which is my favorite way to wear any shirt dress. There are two reasons for this. 1. I am a huge fan of layering. It creates more interesting dimensions in an outfit, provides extra warmth, and hides all sorts of imperfections. 2. As a girl with a big boobs, shirt dresses rarely button without gaping, so the best solution I have found to these #bigboobproblems is to just wear all button downs (shirts and dresses…

My Foxy Snood and #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #5
It has been a few weeks since my last #SpreadTheKindness Link Up, but I am finally getting back on track and today I present you with my new foxy snood! My snood is a bit wonky because the pattern is upside down. But this is what I love about my fun snood. It’s little imperfection is what makes it perfectly suited to me. After all, isn’t it so important to embrace all of our little imperfections? Isn’t it our imperfections that make us unique and special diamonds in the rough, so to speak? Our quirks, our strange little habits, our eccentricities, and all of our differences are what make this…
