Mushroom hoodie, leggings, duck boots, gnome hat, denim jacket, casual winter style, Shelbee on the Edge

Magical Mushroom Mania & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up On the Edge #684

Mushrooms seem to be all the rage lately especially in the hippie/bohemian/naturalist fashion scene. And it seems that I have jumped wholeheartedly into the madness of mushroom magic. Yesterday I shared my new mushroom kimono robe that I upcycled from a thrift store bed sheet and back in October I shared my amazingly cozy purple mushroom poncho. I had wanted to share this super fun mushroom hoodie for our November Good Buy/Good-Bye Book featuring things with hoods but I completely forgot!

I don’t understand how I forgot because I wear this hoodie on repeat while lounging at home. In fact, as I am typing this post, I am snuggled up in my tie dye lounge pants wearing this mushroom hoodie. I picked this cute thing up in Asheville, North Carolina, during my February 2023 road trip and I took these photos just a few weeks after returning home (on March 12, 2023, to be exact). But I never got around to sharing them. I think it turned to spring weather very shortly after taking these photos making the snowy background seem inappropriate.

While we currently have no snow on the ground right now as it has been unseasonably warm and not snowy for a change, it is the season for snow so now these photos do seem appropriate. We will not be having a white Christmas here in northern New York so old pictures is all we’ve got this year!

I am wearing the same green gnome hat that I wore with my mushroom robe because this silly cap always seems to work with mushroom things. My favorite fleece lined leggings are a winter staple for me. I have three pairs of black ones because I wear them that frequently. Keeping it simple, casual, cozy, and bright, I completed my outfit with green leather feather earrings, my green duck boots, a wild orange patterned scarf, and a black denim jacket.

I actually wore a similar iteration of this outfit to the doctor’s office last week. Instead of duck boots, I wore my black furry trimmed lug sole boots and I replaced the denim jacket with my Kantha Bae coat. I actually had not intended to dress so casually to leave the house that day, but I was so comfy and cozy that I decided I would stay that way. And I ended up getting countless compliments on the whole crazy ensemble!

In the midst of my mushroom mania, I must admit that there are mushroom things for everyone underneath the Christmas tree! And we have also added a few mushroom ornaments to our holiday decor this year, too.

Wishing you all a magical holiday season whether you are mushroom manic like me or not!

That is so true, Nancy! Hahaha. It is surprisingly warm for this time of year. But we do have a little bit of snow covering right now. And it is supposed to snow a little today and then get warm enough to melt it all tomorrow.

      Merry Christmas!

Love your magical mushroom hoodie, so whimsical and colorful for the season! I guess you are glad to be experiencing warmer than usual weather this Christmas this year. Hope you and your family are having a wonderful holiday, and thanks for the link up and favorite mention!

Thanks so much, Di! I actually am very much appreciating the warmer than usual weather! I am usually so cold by this time of year and buried in snow. It is a nice break. Wishing you and yours a happy and healthy holiday, my friend!

What a cute hoodie! The mushroom print is so fun! We’re not going to have a white Christmas either. The temps are in the 40’s and It’s going to rain all weekend. Happy Holidays Shelbee!

My oldest granddaughter told me mushrooms were really big this year so you’re ahead of the trends, my friend! I love the playful print of this hoodie! I was wondering if you’d had that much snow already. No white Christmas for us here, either. I think it’s going to be in the high 50s and rain! Ah, well, the fun stuff will be inside, though i wouldn’t mind making a snow angel or snowman or even having a snowball fight!

Have a wonderful weekend and holiday…and thanks for the link up!

Thanks, Marsha! I started getting into mushroom prints a few years ago but they were really hard to come by. Now they are abundantly available. I don’t think I like that so much. I enjoy the hunt for unique things and when those unique things start trending then it takes the fun out of it for me. But I am going to keep buying mushroom things while they are on trend! We are also having temperatures near 50 which is 20 degrees above our normal range. It’s very weird for me not to be freezing this time of year! Wishing you a healthy and happy holiday, my friend! Maybe the snow will come in January!

The mushroom hoodie is adorable. I had no idea mushrooms were having a moment. I haven’t seen it, but I probably will now. That’s the way it goes. Thanks for the party. Merry Christmas!

I am totally loving this mushroom coat. You’re shocked, I know. 🤣 Mushrooms are so fun and funky. And of course, I love the colors.

Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Thanks, Patrick! While I am not missing the snow, my kids really are! They are absolutely snow babies and have been complaining about the lack of snow this year. The upside is that when we don’t get a lot of snow, we don’t use all the snow days, and then the kids stand a chance of starting summer break before the last week of June! Merry Christmas to you, my friend!
