Reminder: The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book-Knit Dresses & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up On the Edge #638
For February’s Good Buy/Good-Bye Book, we are inviting you to share with us your favorite (or least favorite) Knit Dresses. A knit dress simply refers to the structure of the fabric used for making the dress in contrast to a woven fabric. This article gives a simple explanation of knit and woven fabrics and how to tell the difference between the them.
What is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book?
The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book is a monthly series hosted by Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style and myself. Every month, we invite you to share a photo or two of your Good (or Bad) Buy items that fit the stated theme. We ask that you also provide a short description explaining if the item you are sharing was a Good Buy or one that you will be saying Good-Bye to (formerly known as Bad Buys). Nancy and I will both publish a round up post featuring all of the submissions on the 15th of each month.
Anyone who would like to participate and be featured can send us their photos with a short description via email. You do not have to be a blogger to join. Anyone is welcome! We will give you the theme for the next month at the conclusion of each post. Photos will be due to us by the 10th of the month.
So won’t you please join us for February by sending some photos and descriptions of your favorite (or least favorite) Knit Dresses to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to info@nancysfashionstyle.com by February 10, 2023. You are welcome to submit more than one photo if you would like features on both of our blogs.
Knit dresses to me include primarily sweater dresses and tee shirt dresses so let’s have a look at what’s been hanging around my closet.
Leopard Knit Maxi Dress
Sherpa Trimmed Knit Sweater Dress
Long Sleeved Knit Tee Shirt Dress
Ribbed Knit Bodycon Sweater Dress
Oversized Knit Cowl Neck Dress
Black Knit Swing Tee Shirt Dress
Knit Reindeer Dress
Purple Tie Dye Knit Dress
Bright Pink Knit Maxi Dress
Striped Knit Mini Dress
Pink Knit Heart Print Maxi Dress
Black and White Striped Knit Bodycon Dress
Red Knit Sweatshirt Dress
Gray Knit Sweater Dress
Camouflage Knit Maxi Dress
I have many more knit dresses in my closet and styled on my blog but I do believe that I have more woven dresses than knits. I am not sure why because knits are so much more comfortable!
I hope this little round up of knit dresses has inspired you to join us this month for a fun fashion gallery. Remember to send us your photos by February 10 to be included and have an amazing weekend.

Hi, Debbie! I am doing well! How are you??? I think of you often but I have been so overwhelmed with life stuff that I haven’t been able to visit and comment on any blogs. Every time I think I have a moment to sit and read online, life interrupts! I feel terrible about it. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Wow girl, you have so many dresses! Someday you will have to show us your closet to share how you store them all. Thanks for the party.
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Thanks, Amy! I have shared photos inside my closet room before but now I can’t find the post to share with you! I will definitely share photos when I paint that room though.

With winters like yours, you need warm knit dresses! Have a great weekend.
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Indeed! This weekend is our coldest one all winter so far! It is currently -20˚F (-29˚C) with a wind chill of -32˚F (-35.5˚C). Brrr.

I thought I had a good number of dresses, but no. You have me beat by a mile. Some of these are adorable, and I seriously hope you do NOT say good-bye to the camo one, the reindeer one, and the sherpa lined ones. They are my favorite.
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Thanks so much, April! I am definitely keeping the reindeer and the sherpa ones but the camo one is a little big on me. I might have already moved it out, I can’t remember! It is super soft and cozy though so I might have kept it for that reason. I need to go check in my closet now!

You have some fabulous knitted dresses. My favourites are the leopard print and the camo.
Sadly I have none!! And I don’t think I can even find an archive pic. I’ve always avoided knit dresses, I think I was traumatized by how lumpy and bumpy I looked in one, a few years ago!
Have a good weekend
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Thanks so much, Gail! I used to always only think of sweater dresses when I heard the phrase “knit dresses”. And sweater dresses tend to look awfully lumpy and bumpy on me, too, so I avoid those as well. But smaller knits, especially tee shirt knits, I have always liked in dresses. They are not quite as clingy to the bumps! I hope you have a lovely weekend!

(textile nerd alert)
By the way, a Knit is never described as a Weave. You could say instead “A knit dress simply refers to the structure of the fabric used…”
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Ahhhh! Thank you, textile nerd! I made that correction!

Thanks so much, Jess! I gave up on the catch up game! I am so far behind on keeping up with everyone in blogland and I just can’t seem to get my shit together! Hopefully, the snow will stay away until I start heading south in less than 2 weeks. Then it can snow while I’m gone!
