My Favorite Loungewear with the Apron That Keeps It Clean & Link Up On the Edge #294
I have been wanting to share my favorite tie dye loungewear and this vibrant linen apron for a few months but I have just been so busy recently that these photos sort of ended up being forgotten. But then I remembered them! And since I am still lounging in these same tie dye leggings, tee shirt hoodie, and cardigan and I am still cooking in my vibrant linen teal apron, I might as well get sharing now.
First let me tell you about my new linen apron. Do you remember my hemp and cotton sheet set from Atlinia that I shared back in December? Well, those sheets are still as fabulous as ever and have made my nighttime heat flashes much more bearable. I need to order a second set and a duvet cover soon. It is just one of those things that keeps getting pushed further down on my priority list.
Atlinia had asked me to take some time to give them feedback on their products and website and in return allowed me to choose an apron for myself. I am no obligated to share it but I like it so much that I wanted to.
It was a very timely offer since my kitchen aprons are nearing 20 years old and they are looking kind of gross. Wanting to cheer up my cooking looks, I picked the Linen Bib Apron in this stunning Harbor Blue color. Every time I wrap it around my waist and secure it in place, I can feel myself glow a little brighter. It is the perfect kind of color therapy to boost my mood for kitchen choring.
By the way, I wear an apron any time I am preparing food or doing kitchen chores. Aprons definitely protect my clothing from splatters and stains and even just those annoying splashes from the sink that make your shirt wet. Conveniently, yet sadly, I was wearing my new apron the other day and went straight from kitchen chores to cleaning the bathroom. I leaned against the sink after I sprayed it with bleach and now my beautiful harbor blue apron has two prominent white stripes sink high across the front. But at least my clothes didn’t get bleached which means my apron was doing exactly what it was supposed to do!
I definitely need to add another apron or two to my next order as well. It is good to have a variety especially since they always need to be laundered, which, by the way, they launder beautifully. My new apron is crafted from French organic linen which is super soft and naturally anti-microbial as well as sourced in an environmentally friendly way using no pesticides or herbicides in planting or growing. This bib apron features a large front pocket and its oversized fit provides maximize coverage to protect your clothing. Yes, I definitely need a few more aprons for myself.
And now my tie dye loungewear. I bought these fleece lined leggings on clearance from Torrid because I am always so darn cold. They are very lightweight fleece and so soft and comfortable and I love how the tie dye print makes my legs look kind of like marble. I got so hooked on these leggings that I now have three pairs that are just like these, one pair in green tie dye, and a solid black pair. They are in constant rotation. So constant that Jeff is getting sick of seeing of them on my body and in the laundry basket. But I am going to keep wearing them until it gets warm enough not to!
The tee shirt hoodie and cardigan are also from Torrid. I don’t think they were all meant to be worn together, but I kind of liked the mishmash of mismatched tie dyes and so this three piece combination has become a favorite for lounging, choring, running errands, and doing yoga. They are all pretty great pieces styled separately as well.
Do you remember when I created my Happie Hippie Hallway? Well, I found my Jerry Garcia doll after that post and gave him a prominent seat on the yellow bench. I just can’t find his guitar anywhere. Oh well. I did edit my hallway post with the photos of Jerry though.
That’s all I have to end the week! Do you wear aprons when cooking or cleaning? What’s your favorite loungewear this season?

Just yesterday I stained my liac trousers for the trillion time while cooking! And I do have a apron!! That loungeset looks like a perfect one……Jeff! Lol.
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Well, Nancy, my friend, the apron cannot protect your clothing if you don’t put it on! Although I got the Easter ham juice all over my jeans while I was wearing this apron. Apparently I need one that goes straight down to the floor!

The tie dye set is really cute! And I like the colour of the apron! I agree it’s definitely don it’s job that it got stainned but your clothes didn’t!
Thanks for the link up! Hope that you are having a great week 🙂

Thanks so much, Mica! I just put on my green tie dye leggings for today and I just washed my apron so it’s ready to go for today! But I don’t think I am doing much cooking or cleaning today. It’s Friday and I don’t feel like it! I hope you have a wonderful weekend, my friend.

I am glad you give yourself permission to wear soft, comfy clothes!

Thanks, Michele! The older I get, the more sensitive I am to the fabrics that touch my skin. Give me all the soft things, please!

Now that’s definitely my kind of outfit! I have sleeping PJs and then I change into day PJs for work (aka blogging and crocheting). These look really cute, and really comfy!
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Ha, Alexandra, I love that you have sleeping PJs and working PJs! That is so fantastic! I generally sleep in whatever shirt I had on during the day and just strip off the leggings for bed!

Great looking and comfy tie dye set! I have to be comfortable too, no matter what I am a dress girl and find them the most comfortable – but still wear jeans, pants too. If I am not going anywhere , there are a few days a week I may be in a nightshirt.
Jerry looks right at home there! LOL. So cute!
Have a great weekend!

Jess, thanks so much! Oh, I love wearing dresses, too, but it has to be warm enough for me! My summertime loungewear tends to be more dresses and less leggings. And nightshirts are always the comfiest of all! I hope you have a wonderful weekend, my friend!

Gail
The loungewear looks so cute and I bet it’s so soft and fleecy. I feel the cold too and wear a long shapeless grey cardigan all the time. I never had you down as an apron kind of gal. I get in a terrible mess if I don’t use one. Have a good weekend my friend
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Gail, thanks so much! I just chuckled a little that you never put me down as an apron kind of gal! I actually did think that my apron post might be a bit surprising considering my typical aesthetic. But I, too, definitely get in a terrible mess if I don’t wear an apron! When I was in my 20s and first living on my own, I thought aprons were silly and didn’t own one. Then I started ruining too many clothes and realized the benefit of an apron. And now I am absolutely an apron gal through and through! Have a fabulous weekend, my friend.

Di
Love your tie dye lounge wear pieces! They look great on you, and so soft, warm and comfy. The apron is a beautiful color and is a great idea, but it’s so pretty I would want an apron to protect that apron! Enjoy your weekend, and thanks for sharing!
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Thanks so much, Di! I hear you on wanting to protect the pretty apron. I was really bummed when I got the bleach on it. But I had to remind myself that is what the apron is for! And it is way less expensive to replace an apron than a whole wardrobe ruined by grease splatters and stains!

Your loungwear set is super cute! I love the duster over it! I need some new aprons as well. They are so handy!

Thanks so much, Laura! Aprons are definitely a necessity in my opinion! I have ruined way too many clothes not wearing one!

Love the loungewear! I never wear an apron. But I probably should!

Thanks, Lauren! I used to never wear an apron either until I started ruining all of my clothes! Haha. Aprons save the clothing!

Love your cardigan, Shelbee. You really suit things that make a definite statement. And that apron – the colour on you is beyond fantastic. It looks amazing on you.
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Aw, thanks so much, Ratnamurti! I do like statement making things and that is such a phenomenal compliment! I definitely need more teal colors in my wardrobe. I do like them on me as well but it is a hard color to find in apparel. Instead, I keep injecting this color into my home decor! I hope you have a wonderful weekend, my friend!

OOh! I need an apron; I bought one years and years ago on Amazon since it looked adorable and the material was just awful. So stiff it actually chafed my neck! I love the color of yours and it looks like such a nice material too. I’m so sorry you got bleach on it but at least your clothes are okay!
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Thanks, Joanne! Oh yes, you definitely need a soft absorbent natural fabric in an apron. I love the lightweight linen of this one and it washes so beautifully. Honestly, I only left it on to clean the bathroom because I forgot I was wearing it…that’s how comfy it is! I am definitely going to be adding at least another one or two of these to my apron game! Then I can finally toss at the old green and black cotton ones. They served me well but they are just icky now! I hope you have a wonderful weekend, my friend!

If you hadn’t said these were individual pieces, I would have sworn you’d bought them as a set! I bet they are just as comfy as can be! And, Jerry Garcia looks quite happy in his little corner. I remember when he died…we were in Washington, DC visiting Mike’s nephew.
I wear an apron when I bake, cook and do dishes. I’ve found wearing an apron also protects your tees from that nasty habit jeans buttons have of poking holes! I’m also a bit of a slob when cooking and baking so there’s that!!! I need a new one, too! Mine is one my son got when he was in college (his 20 year reunion is this year) at a Greek Fest in Indianapolis! It’s clean but disgustingly stained. Silly me, I keep my pretty ones put away…I need to just fish them out and wear them!
Thanks for the link party, Shelbee! Come see me on the 10th for 10 on the 10th!

shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Thanks so much, Marsha! First, I love that you remembered exactly where you were when Jerry Garcia died! I was not much of a Grateful Dead fan back then so his death was completely off my radar. Jeff, however, remembers it clearly. I just asked him and he said he was a sophomore in high school and his yearbook that year had Jerry Garcia’s death in it as a substantial event from that school year!
Now onto your apron situation. I used to keep my nice aprons stashed away for special occasions and never wore them either! How silly is that? However, I realized that I really didn’t wear the fancy ones much because I don’t like them for practical purposes. So now I just need more practical aprons in fun colors that make me smile! So do you, my friend!
And finally, I did mark my calendar to join you for 10 on the 10th! I might be writing it the morning of the 10th but it is my planned content that day for my Tuesday #SpreadTheKindness Link Up!
I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Eke! I love your Jerry Garcia doll. My husband is a huge fan. And you could have fooled me. Those 3 lounge wear pieces look like they were made for each other. I love the cozy look. And the apron looks really nice too. Fabulous color! I’m sorry you got bleach on it, but as you pointed out, if not the apron, then your clothes.

Thanks, Michelle! Jeff is a much huger fan than me! I got the Jerry doll for him many years ago. I just wish I knew what happened to his guitar, darn it. And I am sitting here once again in my tie dye leggings. I seriously wear them all the time. With my new apron!
