Just an Outfit Post & Link Up On the Edge #117
I have had a lot of deep wonderings going through my head of late and I am struggling with ways to articulate them. I want to share these thoughts because it helps me to process some of it. Sharing it also helps me to gain new perspective and a better understanding when I am feeling somewhat confused by my own silly brain. I think it also makes fun topics for discussion. But the problem is my inability to adequately express what I want to say. So for now, there apparently seems to be just meaningless chaos floating around in my mind until I can properly sort it all out into clear and concise words.
So I guess for today, I am just going to share a typical casual outfit with you. My basic fall outfit formula for work. Distressed jeans, a tee shirt, a long cardigan, and a blanket scarf. Plus, I did tell you in yesterday’s post, Not a Beauty Blogger & Esqido Eyeliner Review, that I would share the rest of my outfit from those photos. So here it is…
And I have to be honest with you, I am writing this at the last minute and I am actually completely boring myself. Boring myself to the point that I am actually annoyed by my own presence. And I can’t get away from myself so I just have to deal with it. Has anyone else ever had that happen?
I have this weekend off except for one short 4 hour shift on Saturday night. I have high hopes that I will get some rest and revive my brain so I can improve my writing game! It seems lately that my ambition level is far surpassing my energy level. I hate when that happens.
Fingers crossed. Toes crossed. Positive thinking. Good vibes. Great energy. Discipline. Rest. And self-care. That is my plan for the weekend. How about you?
And now the featured favorites from last week.
Kileen of Cute and Little shared her post, The Best Floral Dresses with Sleeves. I am loving the way she has styled all of these dresses and those pink booties are so, so good.
Anna Shirley of My Glam Adventure shared her post, My Kindness is Not a Weakness. Such a powerful message and a beautiful pink dress.
Kathrine of Kathrine Eldridge Wardrobe Stylist shared her post, Capelet Love with the Box of Style. I am swooning over Kathrine’s entire outfit.
Keeping it on the edge,
Shelbee

You crack me up–boring yourself! Well, you look adorable to us. I like the shine that your shoes bring to the outfit.
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Thanks so much, Kim! These are my favorite, most comfortable shoes recently! And they were only around $7 on Target clearance last year. Winning! And yeah, totally boring and annoying my own self lately. Haha. Have a great weekend, my friend!

Susan Marinelli
Hiya! When I saw those pants on the website, I thought, “They would look great on Shelbee”, and naturally, I was right. They do! And with the boots and sweater, and blanket scarf. you are one stylin lady! As an aside, I bought a blanket scarf, love it, and had the high school bus kids show me how to tie it so it looks awesome. Some of them anyway, and the three who helped me, will be dropped off directly in front of their homes when it rains. Never antagonize a bus driver!
You don’t bore me Shelbee. Maybe you should do another kimono post, to up the ante? It’s so cool how you get all excited over kimonos!
Stay edge,
Susan
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Susan, I love that the kids showed you how to tie the blanket scarf! I also love showing people all the ways to wear a blanket scarf. Maybe I need to do a post on that because that really does excite me! I am wearing one today with my blue and white game day outfit and have recently added about 5 new ones to my already obscene collection of blanket scarves! So there will be lots to show on the blog, I’m sure. I haven’t been wearing kimonos lately because I am so darn cold all the time that I need super heavy duty layers and kimonos just aren’t cutting it! As for the fishnet jeans, I have two pairs of them from Torrid because they are just so “Shelbee”! I hope you have a fantastic weekend!

I know what you mean about ambition exceeding reality. I have so much I want to blog about, but there’s just not enough time. Especially considering I want to enjoy life and sleep!!

Jodie, I am so glad you can relate! Sleep. Oh sweet, heavenly sleep. I totally slept in until 8:30 this morning and it was glorious. I rarely sleep past 5:30. I needed it and I enjoyed it so thoroughly that I have already declared to my family that I will be doing it again tomorrow!
Have a wonderful weekend, my friend!

When I find myself going down a road of negative thinking is when I become annoyed with my own presence. I find mindful meditation can often help me snap out of it. It’s a great tool for me. And, btw, there is never anything boring about your posts! I love the black fishnets under jeans look.
Theresa
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Theresa, thank you so much! Isn’t it such a crazy feeling though when you get annoyed with yourself? And there’s nothing you can do to escape it. I may have to try meditation when this happens! I wish you a wonderful weekend!

Maria | passion fruit, paws and peonies
I think my body and mind has never matched. I end up being hard on myself – but as I get older I haven’t even got as much energy for that haha! So I’m kinder to myself but I still have a bit of a battle with the expectations I out on myself. Have a relaxing weekend Shelbee xx

shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
I hear you on that, Maria! My ambitions seem to always far surpass my energy and motivation. And then I beat myself up over it. I am not sure why because it’s not like I am sitting around procrastinating. I am always doing something! I just can’t seem to get it all done in the amount of hours we are allotted each day. Oh well. Eventually, the important things get handled and the less important things start to fade away and get forgotten. I hope you have a wonderful weekend as well, my friend.

I can’t even imagine you being bored with wonderful YOU!

Michele, you are too kind! Generally, I can entertain myself putting thoroughly, but when I am off, I am really off! Life is a series of these cycles though, isn’t it? I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

You look great. The fishnets under the jeans are super cool. Take the weekend and don’t think and just rest the brain. That is always my goal, just to be a blob sometimes. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful and restful weekend.
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Patrick, thank you so very much! Unfortunately, I have to catch up on blogging work and work a 4 hour shift at the mall tonight. But tomorrow…tomorrow will be spent blobbing around the house! I hope you have a lovely weekend!

Chrissy
Shelbee you crack me up! And it’s ok to have “just an outfit” post. You’re always bringing deep thought-provoking posts, which I love, but I also don’t mind “just” checking out your outfit for the day! Anyway, I’m digging your distressed jeans with the tights underneath!! Always look cute dearie!! 😉
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Chrissy, thank you so much! I just wish I had more time to process and articulate all the thoughts in my head! Instead, they just keep me awake at night, too tired to write them all down. Oh well, in time, they will burst forth into written words. Until then, outfit posts are what you’ll get! Have a fantastic weekend, my friend.

Shelbee, you’re not boring me at all with this outfit—I love the pink, the stripes, the pop of fishnet—everything! That said, I’m a writer by profession, and sometimes the muse is not with me when I’m writing, either on my blog or at work. Just do your best, and that’s the best thing you can do!
Cheryl Shops | http://www.cherylshops.net
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Cheryl, thanks so much! Right now it seems that a shortage of time is causing my muse to not function. The thoughts and ideas are there, I just don’t have the time to sit and process and get it all out! But I will, eventually. I appreciate your support and words of encouragement so very much! Have a wonderful weekend.
