A Gratitude Alphabet for Thanksgiving Day
DIY Party Mom recently shared this fun activity for kids in her post, I Am Thankful Thanksgiving Printable Game. Since I am a big kid at heart and am feeling all kinds of gratitude this holiday season, I figured it would make a great Thanksgiving Day post. All you have to do is follow the alphabet and create a list of 26 things that you are thankful for this Thanksgiving.
I have to be honest, this was a bit challenging! But the challenge gives you an opportunity to get creative. So here we go…the things that I am thankful for from A to Z.
A is for Archie. I just love that kid! He is my favorite 9 year old on the planet.
B is for the Blogging Community. I am so thankful for all of the amazing people I have met on my blogging journey. You all make my life so much richer.
C is for Coffee. Seriously, I would be a most unpleasant person without it.
D is for Diversity. I feel like we are finally embracing diversity in our culture which makes this world so much more interesting.
E is for Everyone who ever took a chance and stood out there on their own and forced progress to happen. I am grateful to those who came before us and brought us to where we are today. Although it may seem as if the whole world has gone crazy, we are still in a much better place than 100 years ago.
F is for Family and Friends. Of course, I am always so grateful for my wonderful family and my encouraging and supportive friends who always make me feel important and loved.
G is for Goodness. I know that I sometimes get a little down when I see all the bad things in the world, but there is still so much goodness alive and well out there.
H is for Home. I have a safe and happy one and sometimes that’s all you need. It is my favorite place to be.
I is for Ice Cream. Any day of the year regardless of the weather, I will happily indulge myself with a giant bowl of ice cream. Like my sister says, it really does guarantee smiles.
J is for Jeff. My wonderful, supportive, amazing husband who makes me the best version of myself.
K is for Kelsey. Kelsey is my therapist and she is amazing. She is kind, gentle, and caring but she also pushes and challenges me and is not afraid to tell me when I am being a complete ass. The perfect balance of what I need and want in a counselor.
L is for Laughter. Laughter has been one of my most effective coping mechanisms for all the crap that life throws my way. If I can laugh about it, I can survive it!
M is for Marijuana. Yes, you heard that right. I am very thankful for the magical effects of this drug. It has literally saved my life.
N is for Netflix. Because what would I watch without it? All the garbage on regular television? No, thanks.
O is for Oxygen. Without it, well, you know what would happen!
P is for Paisley Poncho! You all know I am currently loving this print. So my paisley poncho is the star of this post!
Q is for Quinoa. Yeah, I am having a food moment with this tasty grain!
R is for Ralphie. My favorite 7 year old with killer style! I love him just as much as my other little beast!
S is for Sister. I have the very best one that a girl could hope for. She is my best friend, my confidante, and the keeper of all my memories.
T is for Technology. You know, as much as it can annoy us, technology has kept us all connected during this crazy year.
U is for Unicorn. My favorite mystical creature ever!
V is for Virtual Entertainment. How sad and lost would we all have been this past year without virtual entertainment? I am so thankful for all the artists, writers, and musicians who continue to share their craft with us through virtual outlets.
W is for Writing. Writing has always been my creative outlet and the way I process things. I am so grateful that I have been gifted a talent with my words. I try to use it wisely and for the better good of all.
X is for Xylophone, specifically this guy and his instrument…Xylophone Jam by Moe. So cool and totally inspiring.
Y is for You! All of you who stop by my little space on the internet and offer me encouragement and feedback. I so appreciate you for letting me know that I have a purpose.
Z is for AmaZon. Z proved to be a bit difficult for this list and Archie gave me Amazon as an idea since it has a Z. So it will have to do. And I think many of us are thankful for Amazon this holiday shopping season.
I am wishing all of my American friends a very healthy and happy Thanksgiving. Stay focused on gratitude and you will always have everything you need!
Thankful on the edge,
Shelbee

I adore berry, maroon, dark red colors, so this outfit really caught my eye! It also reminded me I have a beautiful Laura Ashley (vintage, 1984) shawl I need to wear more often! And I love your list of gratitude.

This list is such a great idea: I think I want to do something like this but have my kids join it and do their own! It helps to put our gratitude in words, doesn’t it! I love this outfit. Going to have to create something like this: don’t have a colorful poncho but I have a grey one, grey boots… so many a grey twist to it!

Mireille, thanks so much! My kids helped me with this list because I kept getting stuck so it was a family effort and it was super fun to do together. I would love to see you style a similar outfit with your gray poncho!
