Reminder: The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book-Winter Coats & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up On the Edge #745
As winter is finally nearing its end in just three weeks, we decided to feature winter coats for this edition of The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book. So before you put your cold weather coats away for the duration of the warmer seasons, let’s give those coats a big old round of applause for keeping us warm through this very long and cold winter season. What is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book? The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book is a monthly series hosted by Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style and myself. Every month, we invite you to share a photo or two of your Good (or Bad) Buy items that fit the stated theme. We ask that you also…

Songful Style Link Party #35: “Pleasant Valley Sunday” by The Monkees
It is time for some song and style with Marsha choosing the tune. When Marsha was a kid, NBC was airing a weekly television sitcom called The Monkees. Luckily for Marsha, her Grandma Rose had given her a small television for her bedroom because her parents wouldn’t let her watch it on the big color television. And that is kind of tragic because The Monkees really do need to be watched in color to capture the truly vibrant essence of this adorable boy band from the 1960s. I remember watching reruns of The Monkees on Nick at Nite when I was a kid in the 1980s and it was one…

Adventures in Thrifting Part 18: Bohemian Ruana & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up On the Edge #744
I am sharing some fall photos for today’s Adventures in Thrifting post because we are really quite buried in snow right now. And it just keeps coming. With a vengeance, it seems. The snow banks in my front yard are higher than my porch and taller than me. I have lost half of my driveway to the giant frozen glacier that formed from all the snow and icicles falling off of my roof. Now I am just patiently waiting for a warm spell to magically melt it all. I would love to see some green grass and feel the warmth of a blazing sun on my face. Despite the 5000…

The Thrifty Six in Cheap Frills
The Thrifty Six is a group of international fashion lovers who meet once a month in our little space on the internet to share our thrifty outfits. On the third Monday of every month, we will all share an outfit based on a specific theme that features preloved wardrobe pieces. Shopping and reselling preloved clothing is so much better for the environment and you can find some of the best fashions in thrift or charity shops. The Thrifty Six are here not only to inspire you to shop second hand but to also get creative in your closets. This month, Emma chose our theme, Cheap Frills. I am always a fan of a…

Style Imitating Art | Diamond Dust Shoes by Andy Warhol
Per my recent norm, I am writing this post hours after I should have already had it published. Better late than never, I suppose. It has been a struggle lately because of the relentless weather here. I am just happy that I managed to get dressed and find an outdoor place to take photographs in this never-ending winter vortex that surrounds me. I will come back to life once the snow melts, the sun shines, and the green grass greets me on the warm mornings of springtime. For now, I mostly hibernate and only get dressed for style challenges. But I’m okay with that! About Style Imitating Art Style Imitating…

My Simple DIY Poncho & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up On the Edge #742
Happy Friday, everyone! We are still buried in snow where I live and it just keeps snowing. I have been spending most of my days in fleece lined leggings, a hoodie, and snow boots. If I am not outside shoveling snow or splitting wood, I am inside keeping the fire burning and the house running. I am content and satisfied, but I am also cold and tired and ready for spring. So today I am going to share an outfit that is also ready for spring (and photographed in summer). Do you remember my DIY corduroy wrap that I shared in the fall? I made this cute little poncho from…
