Why Getting Dressed Up is Important to Me & Link Up On the Edge #175
There are so many times, like multiple times a day, that I wonder if this blogging thing is really just frivolous and vain, pointless and silly. That old arch-nemesis of mine, Imposter Syndrome, sneaks in when I least suspect her and brings mental turmoil and overwhelming amounts of self-doubt with her and drops them proudly at my feet like a cat with a fresh kill so very excited for the hideous gifts she presents to me. What am I to do with such presents? First and foremost, I stand there in shock that she would bring me these things yet again. Especially since I have made it abundantly clear that…

Inspired by Elegantly Dressed and Stylish: Red Sweater Dress for the Holidays
For my entire life, literally for as long as I can remember, green has been my favorite color. But ever since I started this blog, which obviously requires lots of photographs of myself, I am realizing that while green might be my favorite color, red might possibly be just my color. Over the past few years of blogging, I have been adding more and more red items to my closet. I will often add bits and splashes of red into my outfits which tend to be heavily anchored in black. But every once in a while, I will step out of the black and into the red and what better…

What Not to Wear for Airplane Travel
My last two posts have included photos from last Friday when we drove Jeff to the airport for a two week work-related trip to Georgia. I sure hope he is enjoying some warmth and sunshine down there because it has been nothing but rain and snow up here. I am already dreaming of spring, but winter hasn’t even officially arrived yet! I decided that since we were going to the airport, we might as well take the opportunity for some blog photo shoots with different scenery. You can see Radical Ralphie’s photos in Monday’s post. I was hoping for outdoor photos along the way, but due to our time restraints…

The Perks of Military Life & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #152
I mentioned in yesterday’s post that we delivered Jeff to Syracuse Hancock International Airport on Friday where he departed for Fort Benning, Georgia, where he will remain for the next two weeks…leading straight up to just a few days before Christmas. In the grand scheme of military living, a two week separation, even in the midst of the holiday season, is not all that bad, but still it packs a bit of a punch when the holiday blues take hold. This past Veteran’s Day, I shared a little peek into our military lifestyle, the ups and the downs and all of the in-betweens. While we have become quite adept at…

Radical Ralphie: The Boy in Black (and Red Plaid)
I don’t know if you recall from Radical Ralphie’s debut post that he was on the hunt for a black motorcycle jacket similar to one he saw on a boy fashion model who looked “really cool.” Before Ralph’s very first photo shoot, we popped into Classy Kids Consignment Shop to see if there were any in his size but to no avail. Fast forward to the following week and we had cleaned out Ralph’s overabundance of clothing and took his unwanted items into Classy Kids where we received a $42 credit for him to spend. I asked the owner, Kimberly, if she would be kind enough to let me know…

The Sunday Afternoon Quarterback #14: Taking a Break with RV Share
Today’s Sunday Afternoon Quarterback post is going to be a little different from the norm. A lot different actually. In fact, there won’t be any college football highlights at all. This weekend is the college football conference championships, the outcome of which will determine Penn State’s bowl game destination. Since Penn State is not playing this weekend, I wanted to take the opportunity to spotlight an amazing company which has been sponsoring our Sunday Afternoon Quarterback posts all season long. However, I have only added a short sentence here and there linking to RV Share for those readers who may be interested in a luxury style tailgating weekend at their…

The Best Day Ever: Thanksgiving Memories to Cherish for a Lifetime & Link Up On the Edge #174
Thanksgiving this year might go down in the history of me as one of the most memorable ones ever. I will cherish it forever and I do so hope that all other holidays can measure up. It’s funny because as my sister was planning the menu and the guest list and our activities for four days spent together, she gave me this warning…”I am afraid that my expectations for Thanksgiving this year are of Hallmark caliber.” And we all know that when expectations are set too high, we are usually let down…even if it is just a little. This time, however, I think our expectations were exceeded. And that is…

Inspired by Living on Cloud Nine: Plaid Blazer and Pink Furry Coat
Today’s outfit is not a recreation of another outfit, but rather it is a truly inspired concoction built from statement pieces styled by the fabulous Andrea of Living on Cloud Nine. I have been completely awed by Andrea’s sense of style since the very beginning of my blogging days. She is one of the over 40 bloggers whom I discovered in 2015 when my husband was deployed and I was looking for an online community of stylish women my age. I would be up late into the night after the children went to bed, so very lonely, and I would scour the internet for women just like Andrea. Many of…

#SpreadTheKindness Link Up #151
Your featured favorites from last week. Reader Favorite (Most Clicked) Jess of Elegantly Dressed and Stylish shared the prettiest holiday outfit in her post, Turning Heads Linkup -Red Sweater Dress for the Holidays. Apparently you all loved her dress as much as I do! And her boots…I want her boots! My Favorite Fashion Post Moumous of LaMoumous has been sharing a series of formal gowns for this holiday season. Seriously, every single one of them is breathtakingly beautiful. Her post, Dress to Impress @Khiani, not only showcases a gorgeous floral ball gown that has me swooning, but her list of 10 wedding guest faux pas is pretty spot on as…
