It’s that time to announce the winner of my Esqido Eyelashes with Makeover Giveaway. I want to thank everyone who entered! And a huge congratulations to the winner! I have sent you an email with the details for choosing your Esqido lashes and scheduling your makeover at The Marcy Spa and Salon. I also want to send a huge thank you to Esqido Lashes and Kaitlyn Blackmore at The Marcy Spa and Salon for sponsoring this giveaway!
And now is a great time to share a quick guide for false eyelash application and caring for your lashes to get the maximum wear from them. After all, if you have invested the money in a quality set of false lashes, you will want to get the most wear out of them that you can.
*This is a sponsored post. All thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.
If you did not win the giveaway, but still want to try false eyelashes, I highly recommend the Esqido Mink Eyelashes.
Choosing Your Lashes
Esqido provides a lash guide to assist you with choosing the perfect pair of eyelashes for your eyes. Every set of eyes has features that distinguish them from everyone else’s eyes and finding the right pair to define and accentuate the best qualities of your eyes will make your false lashes pop even more! Do you have almond eyes, round eyes, deep set eyes, or prominent eyes? Close set or wide set? What size are your eyes and what volume are your natural lashes? What is your personal style and experience level with false lashes? And what is your intended purpose for wearing false lashes…daily wear or special occasion wear? The Esqido Lash Guide will help you answer these questions and find the perfect lashes for you.
Applying Your Lashes
If it is your first time applying false eyelashes, do not get discouraged if you don’t get it just right. It is a delicate process and practice makes perfect.
1. Measure your new lashes to fit your lash line and gently trim them to fit your eyelid.
2. Add the adhesive (eyelash glue) to the band of the lash. Higher quality lashes will have wider bands which allow for easier application of the adhesive.
3. Allow the glue to dry for a minute on the lash band until it becomes tacky.
4. Gently begin placing the lash along the top of your eyelid starting at the outer corner and working your way in. Be sure to stay as close to your lash line as possible. For a cat eye effect, you can place the outer corner of the false eyelash just above your natural lash line.
5. Blend them for a more natural look by applying a thin line of black matte eyeshadow where the lashes meet your eyes.
6. Add mascara to your new lashes for an even more dramatic effect.
7. Enjoy your new glamorous look!
Removing and Cleaning Your False Eyelashes for Multiple Wear
1. Soften the adhesive with a Q-tip soaked in makeup remover or coconut oil by rubbing it gently across your lash line.
2. Delicately grab the outer corner of the false lash and begin to pull the strip away from your natural lashes.
3. Peel the remaining adhesive off of the band of the false eyelashes. You may need tweezers to grip the dried glue and pull it away. Handle your false lashes with care as they are very delicate.
4. Make a cleaning solution of water and soap or makeup remover.
5. Immerse the false lashes in the solution and gently rub them between your finger tips to break up any mascara and other makeup residue.
6. Once all the makeup and residue is removed from your false lashes, pat them dry and allow them to thoroughly air dry before storing them in an air tight container for future use.
7. Hygiene and cleanliness of your false eyelashes is of the utmost importance as you do not want to allow bacteria to build up on them that could cause eye infections.
And now your featured favorites from last week’s link party!
Regan of Nifty 50 and Fabulous shared her post, What to Wear to an Evening Wedding, and she looks absolutely stunning! I am loving the perfect timing of her post as I am currently looking for inspiration for a wedding guest outfit for my brother-in-law’s upcoming nuptials in just a few weeks. Plus the Royal Wedding. Um, hello. Doesn’t everyone get dressed to the nines and wake up 3:00 a.m. to watch such a special event?! Or is that just me?
Johanna of Johanna Grange shared her post, Pop it like it’s hot! #smartmeetsbeauty, showcasing all of her new Pop Sugar beauty products. Such a fun post especially for all those makeup and skin care lovers out there!
I hope you all found this quick guide useful and fun! Make it an amazing day!

I’ll probably never bother with false lashes, but I certainly don’t go too far afield without my mascara! Lashes are a big deal!
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
I am definitely not one to go so much trouble on a daily basis either, Michele! But I do always have my mascara on as well. These were fun to wear though to give it a try! Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a fantastic day!

I need to find me some non allergic glue!
Laurie xx
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Laurie, the glue from Esqido is latex-free and I am told that it is hypoallergenic. I have very sensitive skin and a latex allergy and I had no issue with the glue. I am wondering if you tried it first on your hand before applying around your eye to see if you have a reaction. But then again, I don’t know the extent of your allergy either so applying to your hand may cause major issues! I will keep my eyes open though if I find anything that might work and I will pass it on to you. Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

Carrie @ Curly Crafty Mom
I can use all the help I can get with false lashes! Ha! My daughter goes through so many lashes for her dance competitions, I really should try to clean them and get multiple uses out of them. THey’re not cheap!

shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Thanks for stopping by, Carrie! Quality false lashes really are not cheap! You should totally clean them for multiple wear. Just soak them in soap and water or make remover and dry them thoroughly before storing. You should be able to get about 10-20 wears out of a decent set.

These are great tips for maintaining fake eyelashes! I used fake eyelashes for my wedding and it’s unbelievable at how it really changes your look. My hubby and son have long lush eyelashes – I am so jealous! It’s kind of ironic too because I want longer lashes as opposed to my hubby he could care less! Sigh! 😭

shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Maureen, thanks so much! They really are fun to wear for a new glamorous look especially for special occasions. My husband and kids all have crazy long, lush eyelashes, too! Although, my natural eyelashes are quite long, too, so I can’t complain. But the false lashes definitely add a little more pop to my eyes.

This was a short and sweet tutorial. You make something that sounds rather intimidating sound pretty simple. My daughter is a make up artist and uses false eye lashes all the time. She loves to experiment on me once in a while too. Thanks for sharing and for hosting the link up. – Amy

Amy, thanks so much! I was totally intimidated by the whole process of eyelash application as well. But then when I did some quick research and had someone else apply them for me, it turns out to be kind of a simple process. How fun that your daughter is a make up artist and you get to be her model!

I’ve only applied false lashes myself a few times and every single time it looked a mess, HA! Like I didn’t trim them right and they were all long. Of course this was when I was younger, and I thought I was all types of fabulous.

I tried false lashes one time back when I thought it would be a good idea to join Mary Kay. Lol. They were cheap ones I got at a drug store. These ones look much better and much more quality! Thanks for linking up with Ada and I for the Thursday Moda linkup!

Nina, you crack me up! Years ago I thought it was a good idea to join Arbonne…that failed on me in about 3 months! Ha. Just not my thing. But these lashes were fun to wear although I don’t see myself wearing falsies frequently! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a fantastic day.

Rania Abdulla
I’ve always been so scared of adding falsies myself as I was afraid I’d mess them up. It’s something I fee needs practice.
https://the-wardrobe-stylist.com/2018/05/02/hiit-workout-routine/
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
I agree that it definitely needs practice, Rania! My problem is that I really cannot see very well without my glasses so I don’t even know if I could apply them myself for that reason. But hey, it’s a worth a try, right? Thanks for reading, my friend!
