In Memory of Patrick Weseman & Spread The Kindness Link Up On the Edge #762
Last Tuesday, I woke up to very sad news in my Facebook feed. My dear blogging friend Patrick of Adventures in Weseland passed away suddenly on June 16, 2025. I can’t even describe how I felt when I saw the post. I guess it was just pure sadness. I simply sat there and cried. Patrick was one of the kindest, friendliest, and compassionate people I have ever encountered in this life and the world was a better place with him in it. I sure am going to miss reading his lovely comments, checking out his adventures on his blog, and opening his unexpected emails that always brought a smile to…

Hiking Coney Mountain & Spread The Kindness Link Up On the Edge #761
We are currently unplugged from our phones and computers while we are enjoying the beautiful views and stellar music at the Smoked Country Jam Bluegrass Festival in “God’s Country”, Pennsylvania. Because we are unplugged, I rarely take photographs at the festival so I never have anything to share here afterwards. Instead, I am going to share some photos of our family hike at Coney Mountain in Tupper Lake, New York. Memorial Day week was a busy one for us with my husband’s birthday falling on the actual holiday this year and my birthday arriving at the end of that week. To celebrate his birthday, Jeff really wanted to go on…

Dining Set Makeover & Spread The Kindness Link Up On the Edge #760
The weather I have been waiting for has finally (mostly) arrived and I have been taking great advantage of the dry days to get some painting done. I have a list of spring and summer home projects that is so long that it requires three columns to fit it all on one page. Last week, I was able to tackle a pretty big project and cross it off my list. My shoulders hurt like hell by the time I was finished, but it was worth it because I now have the dining room table of my dreams. Nearly three years ago, I shared my dining room makeover when I painted…

Last Summer’s Burnt Ochre Dress: Take 3 & Spread The Kindness Link Up On the Edge #759
This is actually take one…the very first outfit of three featuring this burnt ochre dress from last summer. I have shared the outfits in reverse chronological order, starting with the third look for a Style Imitating Art challenge last month, followed two weeks later by the second styling of this dress which I wore during our September date weekend in Troy, New York. During that same September weekend, I couldn’t decide which kimono robe I liked better as a topper for this fabulous orange dress, the black and red floral or the black butterfly print, so I photographed both. I wore this outfit at the hotel just for pictures and…

The Outfit Under the Coat & Spread The Kindness Link Up On the Edge #758
Happy Friday, y’all! Today is my birthday. 51 years young and feeling great. My life is filled with more blessings than I deserve and I am overflowing with gratitude for all the goodness around me. There are so many things to be thankful for on the anniversary of my birth. I am healthy, I am strong, I am wise, and I woke up alive this morning, so I am winning! My husband, who is also healthy, strong, and wise, loves me without condition. My children, they are also healthy and strong, for sure. But they are youthful and smart, so the wisdom will come later. They are amazing kids and…

The Jacket Maker Meets Festival Style
Have you heard of The Jacket Maker? Nearly a decade ago, the founders of the company saw a large gap in the market between luxury and fast fashion brands when it came to leather jackets. Wanting to fill that market void with high quality leather jackets and coats, the company was started to offer stylish options at a more consumer friendly price point. With prices ranging from $300 to $500 and women’s sizes ranging from XXS to 3XL (US sizes 00-24), there is something for almost everyone. If you find yourself between sizes, The Jacket Maker also offers custom sizing. Just send them your measurements and they will make sure…

Blue Nebula Desk Makeover & Spread The Kindness Link Up On the Edge #757
There’s an old proverb that says one person’s trash is another person’s treasure. I have lived by this proverb for basically my entire life and my wonderful neighbors next door know it. Whenever they have trash that they think I might treasure, they always offer it to me! A few weeks ago, my neighbor texted me this photo of an old desk and asked if I wanted it before she put it out for garbage. Ummm…yes, of course, I wanted it! But I think she already knew that which is why she asked me first. The timing was perfect as I had been waiting for yard sale season to start…

The Burnt Ochre Dress from Last Summer & Spread The Kindness Link Up On the Edge #756
If a picture is worth a thousand words, what are a thousand pictures worth? According to the principles of mathematics, the answer would be one million words. Although I am certain that I could write one million words, I don’t really feel like it. And you probably have little interest in reading the one million words that my very noisy and chaotic brain would string together anyway. So I will leave you with some words (far less than one million) and many pictures (a lot but much fewer than a thousand) of little ole me wearing one of my favorite summer dresses. Last summer, I purchased this dress in deep…

New Cowgirl Boots in Saratoga Springs & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up On the Edge #755
Ever since I bought my last pair of cowgirl boots over a year ago, I have been hankering for a new pair. In particular, I have really been wanting teal cowgirl boots. I found a few different pairs of teal boots from my favorite boot retailers, Country Outfitter and Boot Barn, but it took me weeks to decide which pair I wanted to have. I narrowed it down to two different pairs…the Corral Women’s Floral Embroidered & Rhinestone Studded Western Boots (the ones I bought) and the Circle G Women’s Floral Embroidered Western Boots. The pair I didn’t buy are so stinking cute, too, but I do not have any…

Reminder: The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book-Little Black Dresses & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up On the Edge #754
May we see your favorite (or least favorite) Little Black Dresses for May? What is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book? The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book is a monthly series hosted by Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style and myself. Every month, we invite you to share a photo or two of your Good (or Bad) Buy items that fit the stated theme. We ask that you also provide a short description explaining if the item you are sharing was a Good Buy or one that you will be saying Good-Bye to (formerly known as Bad Buys). Nancy and I will both publish a round up post featuring all of the submissions on the 15th of each month. Remember…
