Neon Delight & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #213
In Friday’s post, I talked about how every day is casual Friday these days…and that includes Tuesdays! I had mentioned in that post how I spend most days cozied up in leggings and a warm sweater and thought perhaps these stay at home outfits were unworthy of photographs. Until Darlene mentioned in the comments that I should try wearing some of my brightest colored sweaters just to cheer me during these final lazy days of winter in lockdown. So I took her suggestion to heart and started piling on the layers in mostly black and white so I could add this fun neon turtleneck sweater from Old Navy. Old Navy…

Reminder: The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book-Power Outfits & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #212
It is time again for you to send your submissions for the next edition of The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book. March 8 is International Women’s Day and the campaign theme for 2021 is #ChooseToChallenge. The 2021 campaign is focused on ways that we can challenge one another as well as ourselves in an effort to create a more inclusive existence for all human beings around the world. In the words of the IWD Campaign, “A challenged world is an alert world. Individually, we’re all responsible for our own thoughts and actions – all day, every day. We can all choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality. We can…

Style Imitating Art: Paul Revere by John Singleton Copley & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #211
Before I get into the heart of this Style Imitating Art post, I want to let you all know that I will be taking the next week off from blogging. I will still check comments and things like that but there will be no new posts until next Tuesday (March 2). My sister is coming to visit tomorrow and then we have some other family and friends coming into town for Jeff’s retirement ceremony. I am super excited to see everyone and I want to just be in the moments enjoying every little bit of it. I hope you all have a great week! Now let’s get to my SIA…

Adventures in Thrifting Part 7: Brown Pinstriped Pant Suit & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #210
I have been feeling frazzled lately due to my lack of motivation. It seems to come in short spurts when I can be super productive and accomplish all sorts of things with efficiency and ease. Then suddenly after just a few short hours of productivity, I feel like I have been pummeled by a tractor trailer and may never come back to life! I have implemented all sorts of activities into my daily living to help me through the tired and the defeat. Things like tweaking my diet, doing yoga, and sticking to a regular sleep schedule have certainly helped me feel more balanced overall. But I need more energy…

The Importance of Being Vulnerable & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #209
This post is going to be humorous and a little bit sad. But I really want you to focus on the humor more than the sad ridiculousness of the way my mind works. I shared a post this past weekend, 4 Steps to Feeling Good in Your Own Skin & Living Your Best Life, which touched a little bit on the negative self talk that many of us fall prey to. I wanted to elaborate more on that specific topic in an effort to illustrate just how silly we can be in the way we speak to and about ourselves. Do not be afraid to laugh right out loud as…

The Agoraphobic Battle Continues & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #208
Back in June, I had shared a bit about my struggle with agoraphobia during this past year. It is a disorder that tormented me many years ago and I had nearly forgotten about the level of anxiety that it once caused. Then we found ourselves in isolation with little reason to venture outside of the safety of our homes. Slowly those old fears returned and reminded me of the old days when I barely could function if I dared to leave my house. When we were first mandated to stay at home in March, I honestly was not all that bothered as I had just come off of a 10…

Style Imitating Art: Nebra Sky Disk & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #207
I do believe I have finally figured out the Style Imitating Art schedule and I have marked my calendar so I remember to check the prompts with lots of time to create an outfit and photograph it. Not that the schedule was difficult to follow, I just apparently had issues with motivation and marking the correct dates to remind myself! About Style Imitating Art Style Imitating Art is hosted by Daenel of Living Outside the Stacks, Salazar of 14 Shades of Grey, and Terri of Meadow Tree Style. Style Imitating Art challenges us to draw style inspiration from pieces of art. Every other Monday, one of the hosts, acting as curator, selects an inspiration…

Please Stop Calling Each Other Dumb & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #206
I don’t publicly rant very often but when I have reached my limit, I need to find some outlet to ease the frustration. And I have reached my limit. We live in this digital age where everything we do is online. We share our lives with friends and family on social media. We write articles and stories that we draw from our experiences and post them in online forums. We write blogs, we host podcasts, we have YouTube channels. We exist in a world that provides an endless amount of means to share ourselves, our thoughts, our passions, our beliefs, and our opinions for the whole world to see. Yes,…

My Cloffice Makeover & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #205
I took Friday off from writing content in the interest of taking a mental health day and then I launched myself whole heartedly into a makeover project for my cloffice (closet/office). I began the renovation on Friday evening by moving everything out of the room and finished all but the hallway trim by Sunday evening. I want to explain this strange little place in our house that has become known as my cloffice. It was originally the entranceway from the front door which would have faced the side driveway instead of the actual front of the house. At some point during the history of our home, this tiny foyer area…

How to Style Overalls for Cold Weather & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #204
Once all the holiday hoopla dies down and the reality of the very long winter that still lies ahead sets in, I often find myself feeling rather melancholic for the entire month of January. Adding insult to injury, of course, is this particular January when there is no apparent end in sight to all the things that have bugged me all the past year long. But perspective and gratitude are my focus words for the year 2021, so I will not indulge my burning urge to vent and scream and cry and throw rage at the wind until I feel better. Fueling such fires never comes to any sort of…
