Tieks Take 2: The “Daenelization” of My Vegan Polka Dot Shoes & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up On the Edge #749

Do you remember my dotty Tieks from last week? Well, they are back again with this Daenel-inspired outfit that is not at all warm enough for the current weather here. But I am trying my best to manifest spring temperatures to arrive soon. I do it every year but it never works. Unfortunately, we are not in a frost-clear zone until mid-May at the earliest. So my springy outfits are merely fantasy at this point. But a girl can dream.
And another girl can give the most amazing gifts! Do you remember that big box of beautiful that Daenel of Living Outside the Stacks sent to me last spring? Although I have worn many of the pieces already (here, here, here, here, here, here, here), there are still some pieces that I haven’t had opportunity to style yet. Which is really cool because it’s like I am receiving the gift again even though it was sent to me almost a year ago!
In any event, Daenel sent me so many gorgeous pieces and not a single one of them has disappointed me yet. She has also bestowed her generosity on Marsha in the Middle who has been wearing the heck out of the brilliant new wardrobe she received from Daenel. As Marsha and I have been oohing and ahhing over the different pieces that the other has received from Daenel, we eventually created some new phrases such as :”You have been Daeneled!” and “How can I Daenelize this outfit?” and now “The Daenelization of My Vegan Polka Dot Shoes!”

This floaty whimsical patchwork skirt was another gift from Daenel. As much as I adore its colors, prints, length, and handkerchief hem, this style of skirt doesn’t always reciprocate the adoration so I kind of ignored this piece for the last 10 months. Until my polka dot Tieks arrived. Whenever I receive an item for review (you can read my Tieks review here), I like to style it in a variety of different ways which brings more value to my wardrobe and to the item itself. The bold polka dot print of my vegan Tieks seemed like the perfect footwear complement to all the wonderful prints and patterns on this skirt.
For the rest of my outfit, I wore a long sleeve green tee shirt and tied it at the waist for some definition. Then I added a newish green kimono robe with a red floral print that coordinated so beautifully with the red panel on the front of the skirt. I really liked the combination of dark red and deep green so I wore my red Panama hat with the turquoise band. I layered on my most colorful necklaces…my kantha bead necklace, my purple wooden necklace from a flea market, and a blue glass floral necklace. My colorful raggy earrings completed this outfit which is absolutely perfect for spring if spring would only arrive!
So there you have it…the Daenelization of my new Tieks! Or maybe it was the Tiekling of my Daenel skirt? Hmmm. Either way, I love these dotty shoes and this patchy skirt together!

I’m in love with that skirt! I’ve always loved handkerchief skirts, but these colours are so beautiful together! Very pretty! We have a few warm days here where I can actually enjoy the sun. I don’t know how you survive with so little days of warmth! Have a great weekend.

Thanks so much, Nancy! I love the burst of colors and patterns on this skirt and of course the handkerchief hem really appeals to my boho style. I don’t know how I survive these long cold winters either. We are in the middle of a weekend long ice storm now and I do not like it one bit! I hope your weekend is warm and sunny!

Isn’t it interesting how adding one new piece to your wardrobe can unlock so many outfits, including with items that have been languishing up until then? This is such a fun spring look – I am also eagerly awaiting the arrival of bare legs season.

There certainly is a special kind of power in a fabulous new statement piece to give a whole new life to languishing closet items! We had a few days of beautiful spring like weather which is making the return to perpetual winter that much more excruciating. We are the middle of ice storm now and it is quite cold and miserable here. I guess I’m stuck inside for another month!

Shelbee, love the Daenelization and Tiekification of your outfit! That is a really fun skirt you were gifted, and it makes a wonderful layered outfit with the other items from your closet. I love the color scheme. Hope the weather improves for you, I see that at least there is no snow on the ground, now. Thanks so much for the favorite mention. Hope you have a good weekend!

Aww, Di, thank you so much, my friend! I do love the burst of colors and prints in this outfit. It is very “me”! There is no snow on the ground right now but we are in the middle of a weekend long ice storm so I still can’t do anything outside yet! I hope your weekend is fabulous.

You and Marsha are so funny. I adore you both — the terms are hilarious. I’m truly honored to be a part of your lives and am happy that you both have been able to fit the clothes into your closets.
Those Tieks are too cute. You know I love love love shoes.

Oh my gosh, Daenel, you have no idea how happy your gifts have made both Marsha and me! Not only is everything super cute and totally my jam, but I truly believe that clothing holds the energy of the people who wore it and I always feel such great energy when I wear something that belonged to you. So thank you again for your kindness and sharing your positive energy with us and with the world! You know how much I love shoes, too! I have to do a major clean out there soon. What size shoes do you wear?

That is a beautiful skirt! I love that you are slowly savoring all the items you got! How fun!
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Thanks so much, Laura! That is such a great way to describe it…I really am savoring it! And I haven’t really felt compelled to buy new stuff lately which is a really good thing! (Although I did just indulge myself with a few “new” thrift store finds.) I hope you are having a lovely weekend, my friend.

Hmmm, I see those polka dot shoes again! I have to say, I appreciate the fashion posts where some things are enjoyed again. Speaking for myself, I appreciate the creativity of using what we already own to create a new “look” and I did want to say, I was out thrifting and picked up a couple of pieces I would not have considered before joining in the fun you share here!
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Aww, Melynda, thank you so much! I am with you 100%…I would prefer to make old things new rather than buy new things all the time. I was also just thrifting and these polka dot shoes inspired a few of my purchases so you will be seeing these shoes over and over, I’m afraid! I had no idea what a fun addition they would be to my wardrobe. Thrifting is the best especially for trying out things you may not have considered before and you just want to try it before investing a lot.
