The Great Mushroom Takeover & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up On the Edge #700

I wore this crazy outfit a few weeks ago to run errands and had no intention of even photographing it until Archie said I looked like a mushroom. This made me laugh and so I insisted he take a few pictures of me.

Today seemed like the perfect day to share this fungus-inspired outfit since the masons are coming this afternoon to inspect the chimney and hopefully guide us in the right direction for remediating the mushroom in the ceiling problem. In fact, I am wearing this tee shirt and earrings today for the occasion. It is much too warm for all the rest of it.

I bought myself this mushroom tee shirt for Christmas and have worn it fairly regularly since December. Here, I styled it with my mushroom robe that I upcycled from a thrift store bedsheet, my favorite wide legged jeans, my favorite floral scarf, my old burlap BedStu boots, my new funky hat, red mitts, and a new pair of silver mushroom earrings.

It’s totally silly, wonderfully fun, and fabulously comfortable. The perfect recipe for a whimsical weekend look.

Do you like mushrooms? I am fan of most things mushroomy from mushroom motifs to mushrooms in my meals to the extraordinary powers of medicinal mushrooms. I do not, however, appreciate the mushrooms that eat houses. Please send some good energy for me this afternoon. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the problem is not worse than we already anticipate.

Love your whimsical outfit! That hat is so adorable and you are so creative to upcycle a bedsheet to a kimono. I will be sending you positive energy today, and I hope your house eating mushrooms are not as bad as anticipated. Thanks for sharing and the link up hope you have a good week!

Thanks so much, Di! I love this hat so much! I was hesitant to purchase it because it was a bit pricey, but I am really glad I did. The chimney people had to reschedule so I won’t know for another two weeks how bad this ceiling fungus is. Ugh. I appreciate the positive energy! Have a lovely weekend, my friend.

This is such a whimsical and happy look, Shelbee! You can tell by your smile that you love it, too! I think the tee is fabulous…so fun! I don’t like mushrooms at all. They are just not my thing. My parents used to go mushroom hunting in Michigan when I was a kid. It was a big thing…probably more to get away from the four of us than to get the mushrooms. And, every year, Mom would fry up those morels. And, every year, they looked delicious, and I’d try one. And, nope, nope, nope! They are just not my jam! My best friend loves mushrooms so I always gave her mine off of my pizza! Now, I just put them to the side of my plate.

Thanks so much, Marsha! I have found that when it comes to mushrooms, people either love them or hate them and there is rarely ever an in-between. Quite a few people in my life hate them so I often leave the mushrooms on the side to be added by anyone who loves them and not taint the rest of the dish for the mushroom-haters. I will eat mushrooms any which way…whole, diced, cooked, raw, psychedelic, or otherwise. I love them all!

Hi, Shelbee – This is such a cute post, I just had to join the link up even though I’m a day late (which I never do.) I love the mushroom motif but don’t have any clothes with it. I do have an emerald green rug with moons and mushrooms in gold. This is a great blog post idea, thanks to Archie! – Angie, http://www.yourtrueselfblog.com

Thanks so much, Angie! I have lots of clothing and jewelry with mushrooms but no home decor. Your moon and mushroom rug sounds wonderful! I think in my next (and final) home, I want a mushroom mural in one of the rooms. I hope you are having an amazing weekend, my friend!

Ha! I love the mushroom outfit. Totally adorable! And so cool that Archie inspired you to capture it. As for mushrooms, I love how they look, but prefer not to eat them. And really prefer that they leave houses alone! I hope you now have a good solution!

Thanks so much, Michelle! I find with eating mushrooms, people either love them or hate them without much of an in-between. We had to reschedule the chimney people for two weeks from now because of a conflict caused by a computer glitch. Darn Mercury in retrograde is killing me this round!
