The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book:Long Cardigans & Link Up On the Edge #136
Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book!
Welcome! This is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book. Over a year ago, Nancy and I started The Bad Buy Book, a monthly series about our worst purchases. It was a lot of fun to do and we both learned something from it, too! Nancy learned that off-white against her face is not the most flattering color. And I learned that I have a serious problem resisting a good thrift shop find when it comes to pieces that fit “good enough” but “not quite right.” However, after running that series for a year, we decided to change it a bit.
For this series, you can choose whether you want to share a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye (which is an item you are going to say good-bye to, previously known as a Bad Buy). We will keep purchasing Bad Buys every now and then for a variety of reasons…it was so cheap, you were in a hurry and really wanted (needed) to buy something, it fit almost quite right. But, of course, we also have those purchases that can make us so very happy. A piece of clothing that you have had for years and that you also wear a lot. Or something you bought on a holiday and every time you wear it you get that nostalgic holiday feeling back. Every month you can choose which item you want to submit. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide the theme for each month. Photos should be submitted to us by the 10th of the month with a few sentences explaining why it is a Good Buy or Good-Bye.
And now without further delay, won’t you check out all the lovely long cardigan looks that you have submitted this month…good buys and good-byes…they are all fun to see!
Let’s begin with my co-host, Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style, with her Good Buy Long Cardigan.
“This one is from Primark but a good quality, I like the color and the splits, it’s a very Good Buy.”
-Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style
Next is Bettye of Fashion Schlub with one her favorite Long Cardigans…a Good Buy, for sure.
“This was an easy one for me because I LIVE in long cardigans! I love them over dresses because the lengths of the two items match up almost exactly and I love them over pants/jeans because they totally cover up the entire butt/hips area. Here’s a pic showing a favorite Old Navy long cardigan worn both ways – DEFINITELY a Good Buy. Such a good buy, I have two others just like it in black and camel.”
-Bettye of Fashion Schlub
And now Jodie of Jodie’s Touch of Style sharing not only a Good Buy, but a thrifted Good Buy!
“Here’s my photo for my long cardigan. I recently thrifted this one while I was helping Nancy shop. Ha ha…that goes to show that it’s hard for me not to look for cute things. I fell in love with the collar, and it’s a Chicos brand.”
Jodie of Jodie’s Touch of Style
Next is Claudia of Claudia’s Welt with her very Good Buy Long Cardigan.
“This Long Cardigan was definitively a Good Buy! A good long cardigan is the perfect, timeless piece for both Spring, Fall and cool Summer nights. I simply throw one of my long cardigans over my look, and I have my ideal layer! And they’re all so comfy.”
Claudia of Claudia’s Welt
Now we have Rama of Chez Rama also with a Good Buy Long Cardigan.
“I am a big fan of a cardigan, I wear them all year long. Therefore, when I spot a style I love, I would snag it right away. I got this gray cardigan with open stitches and I have been wearing it since fall of last year. The quality and the style flatters any look. Plus, it is easy to style since it is natural. It is totally a good buy.”
Rama of Chez Rama
Next is Michele of Thrifted Chic Style with her Good Buy Long Cardigan.
“Definitely a good buy. This bright pink cardi is from Forever 21 on clearance.”
Michele of Thrifted Chic Style
And now Jacqui of Mummabstylish with another Good Buy Long Cardigan.
“I have this one from Eva Trends. I love both the length and colour of this long line cardigan, also the design is really pretty.”
Jacqui of Mummabstylish
And now one of my favorite ever Long Cardigans.
“This burgundy crochet duster cardigan is absolutely a Good Buy. I purchased this years ago at Cato Fashions and actually paid full price (which I rarely do). But I loved it that much! The crochet pattern and the duster length create the perfect amount of drama. And the open knit allows it to be worn basically all year if layered properly.”
Shelbee of Shelbee on the Edge
And now hop on over to Nancy’s post to see some more fun Long Cardigans.
The theme for April will be Skirts. So send us some of your favorite (or least favorite) Skirts, whether you love or hate them, we’d love to see them!
Send your photos with a few sentences describing your Good Buy or Good-Bye and we will put you in the spotlight! Please submit your photos with a brief description by the 10th of April to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to nancy@nancysfashionstyle.com.
*By joining The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book, you agree to receive a monthly reminder email for this series.
And now your featured favorites from last week’s link party.
Nicole of Mama of Many Blessings shared her post, Spicy Zucchini Chips. All I can say is “Yes, please. I will trying this recipe.”
Alicia of Between the Pearls shared her post, Why You Need a Third Piece to Complete Any Look. She is showcasing one of my favorite outfit combinations, jeans and a tee shirt, and how that third piece can take this basic formula to a whole new level. Well done!
