The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Stripes

Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book!

This is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book. A series that I co-host with Nancy where you can choose whether you want to share a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye (which is an item you are going to say good-bye to, previously known as a Bad Buy). Every month you can choose which item you want to submit. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide the theme for each month. Photos should be submitted to us by the 10th of the month with a few sentences explaining why it is a Good Buy or Good-Bye.

The theme for August is Stripes, a classic print that comes in an endless variety of colors and orientations! Thanks so much to everyone who joined us this month with your stripey goodness!

*If you sent me a photo, but do not see it in my post, be sure to check Nancy’s post! If you don’t see your photo on either post, please let us know right away and we will add it. Sometimes the submissions can get lost in the shuffle.

Let’s get started and hopefully you will find some wonderful striped inspiration below.

Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style

“I loved these shorts! Loved yes because I had to throw them away as they were all worn out. Loved the golden buttons on it. These were my first shorts in decades! The blue and white stripes gave me a holiday feel!”

Heather of Bauchle Fashion

“My Good Buy Striped item is this fantastic Kate Spade striped tote bag. It is not only unique but brings a fun pop off colour to virtually any outfit in your wardrobe. I just love how it can be worn casual or dressy for a fabulous occasion.”

Heather

Cool Esse

“I love the high neck and casual, classic vibe this top has. It can easily be dressed up or down and it fits well! It was definitely a good buy.”

“I usually wear these striped trousers with solid tops, but pushed myself to try a print and landed on this tropical blouse…trimmed with black and white stripes at the neck. It’s like it was meant to be. I added a jacket (I know, in August) that also had stripes for even more stripe-a-licious matchiness.”

“I bought this cold-shoulder dress on whim from a Torrid sale. It’s so soft. And the fit is perfect. One of my best sale purchases ever!”

Michelle

Sally of Within a World of My Own

“I’m a life-long lover of stripes!  When I recently selected 12 print garments from my closet as my 12 print items that I would definitely keep if I started my wardrobe over from scratch, 5 of them were striped.”

“I love stripes! My thrifted maxi skirt has been very lonely in my closet for the past few years. I am promising myself to wear it a few more times before the end of the year.”

Rena of Fine Whatever

“I’m labeling this lovely ruffled wrap skirt as a good bye purchase because even though it’s lovely, the style is not really for me. My original intention when I bought it at a local thrift store was to list it for sale on Poshmark  but then I had second thoughts once I tried it on. But further consideration has me going back to my initial plan to sell it.”

“They were a Good Freebie. I pulled two pairs of these striped lounge pants out of the ‘Free Samples’ box at work (back when such a thing existed. Both work and the sample box). I wore them both until the spandex died. Then I turned them into art.”

Anne

Salazar of 14 Shades of Grey

“I saw that the theme for this month’s Good Buy/Good Bye book is stripes, which is one of my favorite patterns ever, so I had to submit an item – this striped skirt. I’ve also sent Nancy a different piece, because it’s so difficult to pick just one. No striped item is ever a ‘good-bye’ for me!

Salazar

Jodie, Lesley, and Charlotte of Jodie’s Touch of Style

“I’m wearing a sleeveless dress as a duster which is a Good Buy.”

Jodie

“Lesley was inspired by our Magnificent 8 theme (which she wasn’t excited about at first, haha), but she loves the pants.”

Jodie

“And my mom, Charlotte, doesn’t have a lot of stripes, but she was gifted this ‘dress’ and loves that it is so colorful.”

Jodie

And me!

“I picked up this colorful striped shirt dress from Torrid a few years back. I have only worn it once though so I think maybe it wasn’t such a good buy. But I love the colors and the style so I am keeping it!”
