Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book…Shades of Blue Edition!
Thank you to all the wonderful folks who join us each month. We appreciate you!
The Good Buy/Good-Bye Bookis a monthly series hosted by Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style and myself. Every month, we invite you to share a photo or two of your Good (or Bad) Buy items that fit the stated theme. We ask that you also provide a short description explaining if the item you are sharing was a Good Buy or one that you will be saying Good-Bye to (formerly known as Bad Buys). Nancy and I will both publish a round up post featuring all of the submissions on the 15th of each month.
Anyone who would like to participate and be featured can send us their photos with a short description via email. You do not have to be a blogger to join. Anyone is welcome! We will give you the theme for the next month at the conclusion of each post. Photos will be due to us by the 10th of the month.
If you sent me a photo, but do not see it in my post, be sure to check Nancy’s post. If you don’t see your photo in either post, please let us know right away and we will add it. Sometimes the submissions can get lost in the shuffle.
“There aren’t actually so much shades of blue in this outfit as most is navy. I think navy is the best shade of blue for me. I never liked the colour when I was younger, too posh for some reason. Now I am embracing it as it matches with so many other colours. Even with black! All Good Buys in this outfit!” -Nancy
“How can we talk about blue without including denim! So here is a double denim outfit with a light blue western style shirt and a medium blue wash pair of straight leg denim jeans. I consider both of these pieces to be good buys, as they are classics that never go out of style, and great wardrobe building blocks.” -Di
“I can’t even remember when I bought this navy tank top but I know it was several years ago for my birthday on clearance. I have come close to saying good-bye to it a few times because I don’t wear it all that often. But when I do I am reminded about why it still makes the cut to stay. I really do love all the embroidered eyelet details. It pairs perfectly with these navy shorts too. It has been such a good buy.” -Joanne
“I bought this coat on sale at Marks and Spencer and it’s one of my favourites. Here, I’ve teamed it with an all-blue outfit, but I also love to wear it with contrasting block colours. It’ll probably be time to start wearing it again soon!” -Emma
“That time I coordinated with the stools. HAHAHA. This is what I wore to an International Pop Overthrow concert in a dive bar in downtown LA earlier this month. The tee is from 2000. (24 years ago? What?) I usually don’t wear it outside the house. A good friend gave me the Carlos Falchi purse years ago. Aqua blue elements: Fabletics leggings, Cole stripe socks, and Fluevog Aimee shoes. Everything is a keeper.” -Anne
“This sheer cobalt blue maxi skirt was a preloved purchase many years ago. I have only worn it a few times but I still consider it a Good Buy because it was just a few dollars at the thrift shop. My cobalt blue snowflake sweater, which only gets worn on rare occasions as well, is also a Good Buy because I do love to have a few festive seasonally themed pieces on hand for when the holiday mood strikes me. My blue velvet over the knees boots are definitely a Good Buy, too. I have had them for years and have worn them quite often.” -Shelbee

Are you feeling blue? I hope so! Because it is time to share your favorite (or least favorite) wardrobe items in Shades of Blue. What is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book? The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book is a monthly series hosted by Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style and myself. Every month, we invite you to share…
Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book! This is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book. A series that I co-host with Nancy where you can choose whether you want to share a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye (which is an item you are going to say good-bye to, previously known as…
It is almost time again for the next edition of The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book and we would love for you all to join us! To kick off the new year, Nancy and I have chosen Monochromatic Outfits as the theme! Monochromatic simply means wearing different shades or tones of the same color to create a cohesive…

I did, too! There are so many gorgeous shades of blue and I love that the outfits captured so many different ones. Thanks so much for joining us! I freaking love your skirt that is shared on Nancy’s blog!
I really love how many different blues appeared for this one! The variety of blues makes it a suitable color for everyone. I have been wearing teal all week which is currently my very favorite shade of blue. Or is teal considered more green than blue? Eh. Who cares! LOL I hope you have a wonderful weekend, my friend!
I’ve read that over 50% of people claim blue as their favorite color so this was a fun prompt.
XOXO

ps thanks for including mine even though I was late,
Blue is also used on 71% of the world’s national flags, also signifying a worldwide love of this color. There are so many varieties of blue, too, that it suits every person. This was a really fun prompt. Thanks for joining us…better late than not at all, my friend!
Hi, Shelbee – That sweater is an attention-getter with that beautiful snowflake in the middle! Out of seasonal motifs, this is the best because it is just beautiful and not kitschy like most are. This is a great array of blue outfits by all these bloggers. Thanks for sharing – Angie, http://www.yourtrueselfblog.com
Thanks so much, Angie! I do like some of the sillier holiday sweaters out there, but I definitely prefer the less kitschy ones like my snowflake one. I have a few sweaters with winter motifs rather than specific holiday motifs. They get much more wear, for sure.
Thank you so much for the feature Shelbee! Apologies for not stopping by earlier, I’m getting over the foot operation and slowly coming out of a codeine haze! So many great outfits here!
