The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Linen

Linen. Love it or hate it, I am so grateful that you all shared it with us! Thank you to everyone who participated in this month’s Good Buy/Good-Bye Book. We love what you’ve shared and we appreciate you.

The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book

The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book is a monthly series hosted by Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style and myself. Every month, we invite you to share a photo or two of your Good (or Bad) Buy items that fit the stated theme. We ask that you also provide a short description explaining if the item you are sharing was a Good Buy or one that you will be saying Good-Bye to (formerly known as Bad Buys). Nancy and I will both publish a round up post featuring all of the submissions on the 15th of each month.

Anyone who would like to participate and be featured can send us their photos with a short description via email. You do not have to be a blogger to join. Anyone is welcome! We will give you the theme for the next month at the conclusion of each post. Photos will be due to us by the 10th of the month.

If you sent me a photo, but do not see it in my post, be sure to check Nancy’s post. If you don’t see your photo in either post, please let us know right away and we will add it. Sometimes the submissions get lost in the shuffle.

“I’m not fond of black and white, I’m not fond of white blouses, and I’m not crazy about linen. And look here! This outfit has it all, and I think it’s a really nice look because the white linen blouse is a bit edgier. A Good Bye.”

“The peach color bluebird print skirt in this outfit is 100% linen. I don’t wear it often, only to places where I know I won’t wind up a wrinkled mess! I guess it’s longevity in my closet and the fact that I love it so much (other than the wrinkle factor) makes it a pretty good buy.”

“I just love linen! It’s one of my favorite summer fabrics. Today I showed how I styled these linen harem pants I found on Amazon. They are comfy and breezy and I just love them so much. Since I bought them in black they go with everything too. They have been such a good buy.”

“I’m sending a photo of my crew wearing linen pants when we discussed how to learn to embrace the wrinkles. And yes, they are all good buys because living in AZ means linen is essential.”

“Here is one of two linen dresses I have from J Jill. I fall into the camp of ironing once to get the folding marks out, and then I don’t iron again. I really don’t care about wrinkles on linen. I love this yellow with black and white accessories because it reminds me of a dress my mom bought for me on a whim many years ago. We didn’t have a lot of money to spend on clothes, but she bought me two dresses for no reason. This dress always reminds me of that.”

“I have several boxy short-sleeved pullover linen tops from Lands End, and they are a godsend in warm/hot weather. 100% Good Buys. I handle the wrinkle issue by not caring about it at all!”

“I bought these white pinstriped linen blend trousers on summer clearance in the fall and was very pleased that I was able to style them before the winter weather arrived. I have been really drawn to loose linen pants lately and have since acquired a few more pairs. Definitely Good Buys, especially when the summer humidity sets in!”
Up Next for July: Sandals

Now that summer has arrived, we will be featuring Sandals for the July’s Good Buy/Good-Bye Book. Any sandals will do…flat ones, heeled ones, wedges or platforms. Flip-flops, slides, lace-ups or gladiators. Sandals with t-straps, toe rings, or sling backs. Huaraches, jellies, or espadrilles. If you call it a sandal, we want to share it with us!

If you would like to join us for this round, all you have to do is take a photo or two and email them to us with a brief description about why it’s a Good Buy or a Good-Bye. You are welcome to submit two photos if you’d like to be featured on both blogs. Please email your photos and descriptions by the 10th of July to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to info@nancysfashionstyle.com so we can add you to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book. And be sure to stop back on July 15, 2026, to see what everyone shares.
