The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Hoodies

Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book!

The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book is a monthly series hosted by Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style and myself. Every month, we invite you to share a photo or two of your Good (or Bad) Buy items that fit the stated theme. We ask that you also provide a short description explaining if the item you are sharing was a Good Buy or one that you will be saying Good-Bye to (formerly known as Bad Buys). Nancy and I will both publish a round up post featuring all of the submissions on the 15th of each month.

Anyone who would like to participate and be featured can send us their photos with a short description via email. You do not have to be a blogger to join. Anyone is welcome! We will give you the theme for the next month at the conclusion of each post. Photos will be due to us by the 10th of the month.

November in the northern hemisphere is a time for bringing out all the cozies. And my favorite of the coziest cold weather garments is hoodies. You do know how much heat escapes from your head, right? All of it! Ha. I am always so darn cold so having a convenient head covering attached to my clothing at all times is really convenient. You can check out my full round up all the hooded things in wardrobe closet here

Thank you to everyone who joined us this month. It is always fun to see your different styles and unique personalities. If you sent me a photo, but do not see it in my post, be sure to check Nancy’s post. If you don’t see your photo in either post, please let us know right away and we will add it. Sometimes the submissions can get lost in the shuffle.

“This personalized hoodie was a gift for a collaboration so I had to make it work for me. As I really don’t like a sporty look at all, I tried it with a shiny skirt. Didn’t hate it, but certainly didn’t love it. Then I thought I would keep the hoodie for in the winter at home. But it just annoys me that my hair gets in the way, and it was too bulky. So I didn’t buy this one, but it was a Good-Bye anyway.”

“I picked up this velour hoodie last week at my local Women In Need thrift shop for $14.95. It’s by Juicy Couture, from around 2009 (the little puffed sleeves are a dead giveaway). I adore the bright citrus orange, the gold ‘JC’ tips on the hood strings, the crystal studded ‘J’ on the gold zipper – it’s all so over-the-top! The hood is even lined in velour – you never see that these days. I’m not really a hoodie person, but this is proof to never say never! I loved layering a long-sleeved 90s mesh graphic top (also thrifted) underneath, and leaning into the gold bling on the hoodie by adding an 80s Givenchy necklace, rose gold leather trousers, and thrifted metallic sneakers. It was snuggly and fun to wear – I proclaim it a Good Buy!”

“Here is my Halloween hoodie. Was glad to have it this year as it kept the snow off my head. I was going to go with the Tan Capezio Tights until I saw the temperature was below zero. The 40 denier tights were much warmer and YES I know Batman never wore patterned tights!”

“I just got this new hooded sweatshirt in from Stitch Fix and I nearly returned it since I tend to have a lot of hooded sweatshirts, but when I tried it on I just fell in love with it. It is so soft and fuzzy and has those wonderful finger holes in the wrist that I love so much. I thought the green was a pretty color too and I loved the mini zipper detail, too. I’ve only had it a month or so but I’ve already worn it a good 1/2 dozen times. It turned out to be such a good buy!”
