Good Buy/Good-Bye Book, Greys, Grays

The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Grayish Greys

January has more gray days than most months for many of us so this month we are celebrating the grayish greys in our closets.

The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book is a monthly series hosted by Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style and myself. Every month, we invite you to share a photo or two of your Good (or Bad) Buy items that fit the stated theme. We ask that you also provide a short description explaining if the item you are sharing was a Good Buy or one that you will be saying Good-Bye to (formerly known as Bad Buys). Nancy and I will both publish a round up post featuring all of the submissions on the 15th of each month.

Anyone who would like to participate and be featured can send us their photos with a short description via email. You do not have to be a blogger to join. Anyone is welcome! We will give you the theme for the next month at the conclusion of each post. Photos will be due to us by the 10th of the month.

If you sent me a photo, but do not see it in my post, be sure to check Nancy’s post. If you don’t see your photo in either post, please let us know right away and we will add it. Sometimes the submissions get lost in the shuffle.

“I love this colour combination a lot. And it are all Good Buys! These kind of skirts are my favourite, wide midi ones. And it has pockets. The jumper is simple but the right grey for me and it has a bit of leather at the shoulder. I am wearing a transparent shirt underneath and old leather boots. The necklace is very old and has the same colour combination as the boots and skirt, perfect match, right!”

“The second outfit is a burgundy top and pleated skirt, with a gray vest layered on top. I would say this vest was a good buy, because it is very versatile, gray goes with just about any color. It is the kind of basic that has staying power, and  I have  worn it off and on for over five years!”

“I completely forgot I had these gray pants in my closet but I am so glad for this challenge because I just love them. I was looking for something to go with this new sweater I bought this winter that has quickly become one of my favorites! I love the print, the neutral colors, and I am a sucker for anything with a fair isle pattern. Both of these are such good buys!”

“Lesley has some of the best outfits with grey so here’s an entry for the Good Buy. I love being able to showcase different women on my site because it’s all about various styles, and ages.”

“This is a dress done in very pale shades of greys with some pastel pops (can a pastel be a pop).  I love it because it’s light and flowy and is part of my aesthetic right now (well, not right now because it’s freezing outside). I also wore a grey slip!”

And Me…with a Good Buy
magical mushroom hoodie
“This light gray hoodie is splattered with a colorful mushroom print, which is how I prefer to wear grays…with lots of bright colors. It was definitely a Good Buy! I bought it on one of my road trips to Asheville, North Carolina, a few years ago and it has been my favorite hoodie ever since. Sadly, I misplaced it over the summer during a visit to my sister’s house. We believe it to still be in my sister’s house but it remains lost despite our search efforts. And now I must pray to Saint Anthony…

Dear Saint Anthony, please come around. My mushroom hoodie is lost and I would like it found. Also Ralph’s gym bag needs to be found as well. Please. And thank you.”

And a Good-Bye
“When I first purchased this gray sweater knit dress, I loved how soft it was and I ended up buying a second one in a dark mustard color. But then I hated the way it fit me and I got very overheated wearing it. I don’t think I ever even wore the mustard one. I recently said Good-Bye to both dresses when I passed them onto a dear friend. Hopefully she has better luck with them!”
