Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book!

Welcome! This is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book. A series co-hosted with Nancy where you can choose whether you want to share a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye (which is an item you are going to say good-bye to, previously known as a Bad Buy). We will keep purchasing Bad Buys every now and then for a variety of reasons…it was so cheap, you were in a hurry and really wanted (needed) to buy something, it fit almost quite right. But, of course, we also have those purchases that can make us so very happy. A piece of clothing that you have had for years and that you also wear a lot. Or something you bought on a holiday and every time you wear it, you get that nostalgic holiday feeling back. Every month you can choose which item you want to submit. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide the theme for each month. Photos should be submitted to us by the 10th of the month with a few sentences explaining why it is a Good Buy or Good-Bye.

We are so excited to share this month’s theme of Denim Jackets. Denim jackets are a fantastic closet staple and ever so timeless. I have owned a denim jacket for as long as I can remember dating back to the early 1980’s. My jackets were much smaller back then as I was just a kid, but I was a kid who could rock a denim jacket, 80’s style. But this is not why we are so excited for this month’s theme. We are excited and so grateful for how many fabulous women joined us this month. I believe it is the most participation we have had since the beginning of this series. So thank you so much to everyone who submitted photos this month.

”Dolce & Gabbana, likely late 90s, found it at a thrift store, new with tags – it’s missing a few studs. It was free on a “buy 2 get 1 free” deal. I’ve worn it 13 times, so it’s definitely a Good Buy! I love the dome studs, the ¾ sleeves and the pale blue colour…and the leopard lining.”

“The light wash denim is my most expensive jacket. It is Kut from the Kloth. I have worn it enough times since I bought it to bring the cost per wear down and to make me feel good about the purchase. Just like my other jackets I have worn it with all kind of outfits!”

“I bought this Denim Jacket from Lane Bryant at least 15 years ago, maybe longer. I paid quite a bit of money for it back then, but I loved it that much. There is something special about the Sgt. Pepper vibe. Although I don’t wear it that often these days, it still makes its rounds into my outfits year after year. Definitely a Good Buy.”

”This denim jacket is from Old Navy but I bought it second hand last spring. There is something about a pre-loved denim jacket that I simply cannot resist.
