Reminder: The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book-Workout Wear & Link Up On the Edge #318
It is time again to share your best and worst buys with us…this time from your Workout Wear!
What is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book?
It is a monthly series that Nancy and I both publish on our blogs on the 15th of each month. Anyone who would like to participate and be featured can send us their photos with a short description explaining if the item was a Good Buy or one that you will be saying Good-Bye to. You do not have to be a blogger to join. Anyone is welcome. We will give you the theme for the next month in each post. Photos will be due to us by the 10th of the month. So please join us for November by sending some photos and descriptions of your favorite (or least favorite) Workout Wear to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to info@nancysfashionstyle.com by November 10, 2022. You are welcome to submit more than one photo if you would like features on both of our blogs.
I know I usually share a round up of outfits that suit the chosen theme for these reminder posts, but I think I have only ever shared workout wear on maybe one or two occasions in seven years. And I am going to need those old photos as my own submissions for this month! So I am going to take a different approach for this post and share an example of how I have been dressing on most days, always ready to get down on my yoga mat whenever the mood strikes.
If I don’t have anywhere to go, I generally get straight into my leggings for the day with a comfortable tee shirt, sweater, or hoodie, and a cozy pair of socks. My sherpa lined Birkenstocks (I like to call them my Furkies) are always waiting for me slide them on anytime I get up from my seat to move about the house. My feet have become super sensitive in recent years so walking barefoot is terribly uncomfortable even inside the house. My Furkies have been a brilliant solution. But I do not wear them for working out only for walking about. No shoes are required for yoga and I keep my running shoes nearby for my 10 minute HIIT works which I need to get back to. I have taken too long a hiatus from cardio.
Yin yoga doesn’t make me sweat so I can continue about my day without having to change my clothing. But the cardio does make me sweat which requires a change of clothes between. I think that is part of my problem getting back to cardio. It makes too much dirty laundry!
Do you have a workout routine? What do you wear for it?

I hope to see a lot of women in their workout wear! Enjoy your weekend!

Me, too, Nancy! Have a wonderful weekend!

I have my email started… but then I started questioning myself. The photos are of my hiking outfits which isn’t REALLY workout clothes but for those days and times I was great about lifting weights or doing cardio or yoga (I’ve gotten off track this past month and really need to get back to a daily habit!) I mostly just wore my pj’s and did my workout as soon as I woke up. So my only “real” workout clothes are my hiking clothes.
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Oh, you can send it to me, Joanne! Hiking is a workout so I would consider hiking clothes to be workout wear. And remember, we aren’t strict about things around here! Send the email!

I need to remember to send you and Nancy photos for your posts – I forget every month. I love yoga but never tried yin yoga. Your tee is super cute and those Birkenstocks are fabulous with the sherpa lining!

Thanks, Jill! Nancy sends out a reminder email every month to anyone who has joined us. I can have her add you to that email list if you want. Just let me or Nancy know. These Birkenstocks are seriously the best things my feet have ever known! I found them on 50% off clearance and I had rewards at Famous Footwear so I think I only paid $40 for them. I also bought them in a darker gray because I couldn’t resist that sale price!

I guess I sort of wear work out wear just about every day because I have bad feet and need to wear tennis shoes for the most part. I love love love Fishers Finery brand for yoga pants, leggings, and their v neck loose fit t shirts. I could live in this brand every day! Sorry, no pictures, but yours are cute!
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Thanks so much, Joni! My feet are still doing okay but they do prefer comfortable and supportive shoes these days so I totally understand that. I just like to be all around comfortable especially when I am at home alone all day long. I had never heard of Fishers Finery so I looked them up. They have really great stuff and I am really digging their sustainability commitment. I hope you have a lovely weekend!

Oh how exciting to be most clicked! That doesn’t happen for me to often. Love your workout outfit. I’ve learned I had to wear supportive shoes at home too. Thanks for the party.

Thanks, Amy! It is always exciting to be most clicked! These Birkenstocks are so great for wearing around the house, too. I bought them in dark gray as well because I found them for 50% off. I think I paid $40 for these and $50 for the dark gray ones which is a great price for Birkenstocks! I hope you have a lovely weekend, my friend.

I feel like I practically live in workout wear. So much so that I can sometimes find it hard to put together an outfit with real clothes!
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Oh my goodness, Lauren, I honestly can relate to that! I have been relying on my various style challenges to force me to put on clothing other than my workout leggings and hoodies!

Yoga is my absolute favorite!! It’s positive in so many ways! I also really love barre, pilates and outdoor activities like hiking. Not really a fan of weight lifting and cardio but I’ll do what I have to do haha!

Lizzie, I have been trying to spread the word about the benefits of yoga to anyone who will listen…but then no one listens! Hahaha. Honestly though, since I have added yoga into my regular routine, my whole self, body, mind, and spirit, is so much better! I don’t mind cardio in short 10 minute bursts but yet I still don’t get to it!

For as much as I work out, I rarely show workout wear! I have a few times on IG but that is probably it! Honestly I rarely invest much in workout wear. It just gets sweaty so as long as it is comfortable I don’t care how it looks. Ha! Your top is really cute! I like the idea of working out without getting sweaty.
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
I am with you, Laura. I never much cared about my workout clothes either. I just want comfort and practicality! I guess I never really share my workout wear because I basically wear the same thing over and over again…leggings (usually black), a tee shirt, and a hoodie. Not very exciting at all! I also like to get my exercise in without too much sweat!

I don’t like Yoga but I do like wearing leggings 24/7 they are the most comfortable pants I own. I should send some sample of my favorite leggings if I get a chance.

Jamie, I am so glad that you sent me some photos to share for our upcoming edition of The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book! We always love to welcome new participants! The more, the merrier.

You’re so cute in your workout wear! I love the one braid . . . and those Furkies look like they’d be “heaven” to wear. Thank you for sharing this post in the Talent-Sharing Tuesdays Link-Up 40.

Thanks, Carol! Oh, these Furkies are definitely heavenly on my feet. I am really glad that I bought two pairs! I have been having some serious contemplative moments lately about my extensive shoe collection that is probably 90% uncomfortable! It might be time soon to ditch it all in favor of comfy feet. Haha.
