Last month’s Good Buy/Good-Bye Book featuring formal wear was a bit more challenging than some of our other themes and I am not so certain that this month’s theme is any less challenging. For me at least. For July, we are looking for all things Orange. You are welcome to submit to us anything that is orange in color or just simply has some orange in a pattern or perhaps you have an article of clothing that features a citrus fruit print. This includes any outfit, outfit pieces, or accessories that feature the color orange.
It is a monthly series that Nancy and I both publish on our blogs on the 15th of each month. Anyone who would like to participate and be featured can send us their photos with a short description explaining if the item was a Good Buy or one that you will be saying Good-Bye to. We will give you the theme for the next month in each post. Photos will be due to us by the 10th of the month. So please join us for July by sending us some photos of your favorite (or least favorite) Orange things with a brief description as to why you love or hate them!
You can choose yourself whether you want to show a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye (which is an item you are going to say good-bye to). We will keep purchasing Bad Buys every now and then for a variety of reasons…it was so cheap, you were in a hurry and really wanted (needed) to buy something, it fit almost quite right. But, of course, we also have those purchases that can make us so very happy. A piece of clothing or accessory that you have had for years and that you also wear a lot. Or something you bought on a holiday and every time you wear it you get that nostalgic holiday feeling back. Every month you can choose which item you want to submit. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide the theme for each month. Photos should be submitted to us by the 10th of the month with a few sentences explaining why it is a Good Buy or Good-Bye.
Now the challenge begins for me to find some Orange inspiration in my blog archives. I suspect as I go hunting, I am going to find the orange in prints and patterns and accessories. Orange is simply not a color that I choose or wear often at all. But I do find it frequently in prints and patterns that I choose.

If you would like to participate in this month’s Good Buy/Good-Bye Book and be featured on our blogs, just email your photos with a brief description to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to nancy@nancysfashionstyle.com by July 10. You are welcome to submit more than one item if you would like for features on both blogs.

I am a midlife woman, wife, and stay-at-home mother of 2 boys and 2 cats. I have a passion for helping other women feel fabulous in the midst of this crazy, beautiful life.
Thanks so much, Jacqui! I didn’t realize how much orange appears in my clothing until I did this round up. I received your photos. You look amazing and orange suits you well!
Jennifer, thanks for stopping by! I definitely have more rust and terra cotta colored items than traditional orange. But I think any shade of orange will do for this month’s challenge!
wow! you have a lot of orange! it’s also a color that i’ve been on the fence with…but i heard that tangerine is the color of the summer, and sherbet orange color….although i don’t see it very much…but then again, my sphere of stay-at-home influence is Pinterest lol! i should try one of these challenges–and believe it or not, i do have orange but usual designate the use for fall–curious to see if i can put something together for summer….

Thanks, Eva! I didn’t realize how much orange I do have! Not much that is solid orange but tons of orange accents. I don’t think it is a color I could wear in abundance but the little hints of it are great. I am curious to see what kind of styling you do come up with for summer!
Someone has a lot of orange their. Looking good in all of them and it is great that you got Archie involved . I think I have one picture of me in orange and that is of me in a Reese’s Hoodie.
Thanks so much, Patrick! You should submit your Reese’s hoodie photo and I will share it for this series! That will be fun! I don’t think we have had a man participate yet. Be the first!
You have so many fun orange pieces! I don’t have a lot of orange in my wardrobe, it’s a colour I want to get more of – when spring arrives shortly it will be a good time to pick up bright colours like that 🙂
Thanks so much, Mica! I had no idea how much orange I have in my closet until I pulled this post together. I look forward to seeing what orange pieces you add to your spring wardrobe.
Love all your outfits Shelbee. The pops of colour are so lovely on you. I never realised how much I love orange and need more in my life until I read this post. Love your orange tights and stripy skirt.
That’s a lot of ‘accidental’ orange. It must be in most of the prints you wear! Orange/coral/peach are my second favorite color and probably one of the colors I wear best but don’t have much of. I did have an embroidered orange oxford cloth shirt but I think it was purged recently. Will have to see what I can find. Love all of your outfits…but among my faves are the outfit under the stairs with the stripes, the outfit in front of the Furniture Barn sign, and those boots!!
Leslie, thank you so much! I was shocked by how much orange I actually had in my closet. I was fearful I wound’t be able to find anything for this theme. Ha. I hope you can find something to submit this month! I am looking forward to seeing all the wonderful orange things. I hope you have a lovely weekend!

I don’t think I own a lot of orange. If I do, it’s more rust or terracotta.
