Reminder: The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book-Long Cardigans & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up On the Edge #725
It is time to remind you about October’s edition of The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book.
What is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book?
The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book is a monthly series hosted by Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style and myself. Every month, we invite you to share a photo or two of your Good (or Bad) Buy items that fit the stated theme. We ask that you also provide a short description explaining if the item you are sharing was a Good Buy or one that you will be saying Good-Bye to (formerly known as Bad Buys). Nancy and I will both publish a round up post featuring all of the submissions on the 15th of each month.
Remember anyone who would like to participate and be featured can send us their photos with a brief description via email. You do not have to be a blogger to join. You just need a camera and an email address! We will give you the theme for the next month at the conclusion of each post.
With that, you are invited to join us in October to share your favorite (or least favorite) Long Cardigans. We featured long cardigans way back in 2019 but we are running out of ideas after 6.5 years of this monthly series. Whether you joined us back then or not, we would love to have you join us now. All you have to do to join is put on a long cardigan, snap a photo or two, and email us so you can be featured in our Good Buy/Good-Bye Book.
In case you were confused about cardigans, they are open fronted garments that generally can be closed with buttons or zippers. Sometimes they have no closure apparatus and hang open by design. Similar open fronted garments that are closed with a tie or belt are considered robes instead of cardigans. Cardigans are often woven or knitted, either by hand or machine. They were traditionally made of wool but contemporary cardigans are available in a variety of fabrics including cotton, synthetic fibers, or any combination of fabrics.
As for whether your cardigan is long or short, I suppose that depends on how tall you are! I guess a “long” cardigan would be one that at least covers your butt. If it hits above the top of your buttocks, then it’s probably not a long cardigan. But you use your judgment when deciding what to send us.
I love long cardigans because they feel like winter kimono robes to me and you all know how I love my kimonos and robes! Here’s a look at some of my long cardigans.

You have so many fabulous long cardigans! I’ve been on the hunt for some calf or ankle lengt ones for awhile now and just haven’t found ones I love so I made do with the more thigh length ones I sent you and Nancy for this challenge. But oh looking at these photos as well as the photos from the past challenge I see so many I’d love for myself!
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Thanks, Joanne! The ankle length ones seem to be the hardest to find but they are definitely my preference. They are so dramatic, I just love it! But I’ll wear any length cardigan as long as it covers my butt. I don’t really like short tops of any sort very much at all. I never really did. Long and flowy is my jam!

I’ve always loved long cardigans because they elongate the figure, but they are hard to wear in the north because they always show under our winter coats!
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Oh my gosh, that is so true, Amy! It used to bother me a lot when I couldn’t find a coat long enough to cover my cardigan. So I quit trying and wear whatever coat is going to keep me warmest that day regardless of style aesthetic. Sometimes comfort does win out over style!

It was fun to look through all of your great looks through the years! My favorite is the multi-colored crocheted granny square one. You really rock a long cardigan-it suits your style so well. Thanks for posting the link up and hope you have a great weekend!
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Thanks so much, Di! I love that granny cardigan so much but it really is very impractical and I rarely ever wear it. I should get it out of hiding though and display it on the wall or something! I hope you have a most wonderful weekend as well, my friend.
