Reminder: The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book-Birds and Feathers & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #272
Spring has finally sprung in the cold North Country where I live and the birds are singing us awake as the sun begins to rise earlier and earlier now. To celebrate our flying friends that bring the hopes of a new season to life, we are sharing all things avian this month. It can be bird prints or motifs or feathery things or perhaps you even have wings that you sometimes like to wear. Whatever it is that reminds you of birds, do come share it with us for May’s Good Buy/Good-Bye Book.
What is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book?
It is a monthly series that Nancy and I both publish on our blogs on the 15th of each month. Anyone who would like to participate and be featured can send us their photos with a short description explaining if the item was a Good Buy or one that you will be saying Good-Bye to. You do not have to be a blogger to join. Anyone is welcome. We will give you the theme for the next month in each post. Photos will be due to us by the 10th of the month. So please join us for May by sending some photos and descriptions of your favorite (or least favorite) bird things to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to info@nancysfashionstyle.com by May 10, 2022. You are welcome to submit more than one photo if you would like features on both of our blogs.
I have a love/hate relationship with birds, by the way. I love that they symbolize hope for a new season and I adore prints that incorporate birds, but actual real life birds kind of freak me out. I think it’s their dang flapping wings when they get freaked out that freaks me out the most. Whatever it is, I am little afraid of feathery flying creatures but I do still like to wear them on my clothes.
And there you have it. I think that is all of my bird things…two dresses, a kimono, leggings, a vest, a bag, earrings, a scarf, a cape, and a hoodie. What do you have to celebrate our feathered friends?

Thanks so much, Carol! The leggings are the only LulaRoe leggings I ever owned and I won them in a blogger giveaway. I couldn’t resist the crazy bird print and they have long been favorite leggings. And the swan print dress came from a brand collaboration a few years back. It is a super cute and comfortable dress. I should wear it more often!

Thank you Shelbee for the feature! I don’t think I have any bird prints! You have some really pretty ones. I love the turquoise blue dress on you and that bird purse is so cute! We always have a birds nest right above our front door. You get scared of birds, I am of some insects!

Thanks, Jess! I am actually surprised that you don’t have a scarf or something with a beautiful bird print on it! It seems like a print that would appeal to your aesthetic. By the way, I also get afraid of insects! I am trying to be better about it and respect them as much smaller creatures than I. But if they are stinging bugs, forget it. I freak out! Mostly because I am allergic and then I swell up like crazy at the sting site and it lasts for like 3 weeks. So annoying.

You have so many cute items that feature birds! I do have a dress with a small bird print and a skirt with feathers. I’m wracking my brain to think if I have anything with birds on! I like birds when they’re out doing their thing, but I don’t like it when they come into the house, which has happen a few times!

Oh, birds in the house are never good unless it’s your pet! I am with you…they are cool little creatures as long as they stay out of my house and far away from my head! Speaking of creatures in the house, I am currently dealing with a squirrel in the attic. Stubborn little thing won’t go into the trap so he can be safely removed and relocated. Fingers crossed he is in there when the nuisance management guy comes back this afternoon!

How fun that you have so many bird items! I don’t know that I have any. Your fear of birds reminded me of The Big Bang Theory; Sheldon also has a fear of birds. Ever since watching Alfred Hitchcock’s movie “The Birds” as a child, I can understand having a fear of birds! 🙂 I’ll never watch it again.

Haha, thanks so much, Lisa! I adore Sheldon and all of his quirks and fears! And The Birds really freaked me out, too. I took an Alfred Hitchcock class in college and learned some awful things from behind the scenes of that film. But my fear of birds goes all the way back to very young childhood and the “dead bird” ornament that my mother put on our Christmas tree!
