I don’t know if you recall from Radical Ralphie’s debut post that he was on the hunt for a black motorcycle jacket similar to one he saw on a boy fashion model who looked “really cool.” Before Ralph’s very first photo shoot, we popped into Classy Kids Consignment Shop to see if there were any in his size but to no avail. Fast forward to the following week and we had cleaned out Ralph’s overabundance of clothing and took his unwanted items into Classy Kids where we received a $42 credit for him to spend. I asked the owner, Kimberly, if she would be kind enough to let me know if she got any black motorcycle jackets that fit Ralphie’s size and description. She asked us to hold on one moment while she checked her back stock room and she returned with this black faux leather jacket with attached knit hood. It was a size too big, but Ralph was sold. He also scored the red plaid fleece coat featured in his last post as well as a few other pieces that we will be sharing soon. He asked if he could use his credit to get some games as well and we grabbed Pie Face and Hot Potato and we still have $6 credit left to spend. I am telling you, kids’ consignment is the way to go!

On Friday, I let the kids miss school so we could drive Daddy to the airport. Since he was leaving for two weeks, returning just a few days before Christmas, I thought it would be a good bonding opportunity and a nice little morning trip. The airport is in Syracuse, New York, which is about an hour’s drive each way from our house, so I asked Ralphie if he would like to get dressed up with me for a photo shoot at the airport. He begrudgingly obliged my request but he asked me to pick the outfit for his new preloved motorcycle jacket. So I went for black pants and a red plaid shirt layered over a red tee shirt and some festive snowman socks. He picked his orange sneakers. And off we went.

We spent some time in the Military Courtesy Room which is a wonderful amenity for military families provided at many airports. We hung out there for a bit with Daddy before he had to go through security to board his flight. I am going to share some of the cool stuff from this courtesy room and around Syracuse Hancock International Airport in tomorrow’s post. So be sure to stop back then and join the link party as well. On Wednesday, I will share what I wore to the airport in a short outfit post of my own.

Mireille, thanks so much! Kids’ sneakers are getting so expensive these days, aren’t they?! Ever since Payless closed, we are doomed to spending $50 and up on name brands like New Balance and Nike. It makes me cringe! But they are really cute. Ralphie was such a little ham with that soldier statue. He found it hilarious that it was nearly as tall as he is. Stop back tomorrow for more details about these military courtesy rooms.

Aw, thanks, Patrick! He picked out the quite the outfit for his next photo shoot. He says, “This is what I am going to wear on my next fashion blogging day.” And he will only dress the part on weekends! When he goes to school he is right back in his mismatched sweatpants and tee shirts.

Thanks, Jodie! He is a frugal little one when it comes to his own money which I love. When it comes to spending Mommy and Daddy’s money, on the other hand, he would buy everything brand new and super expensive! Haha. I am going to keep on this consignment track, for sure. It is the way of the new generation.

I am loving every Ralphie outfit so far, and how his personality shines through in the photographs. Totally think the orange sneaks are perfect for this one, and, of course, the jacket is so cool. Great job, Ralphie!

Hey Ralphie! You are looking pretty cool in your new faux-leather jacket. I think you’re very smart to start with a leather “look” til’ you decide how you want to invest your consignment earnings. Yikes! You’re already taller than that soldier statue… you might outgrow that jacket by next month! 🙂
I think the airport was a great choice for a convincing backdrop. You look like you could be taking off with your dad on a mission of some kind.
Stay “cool” and warm!! Looks like a lot of snow at that airport!

Thanks so much, Jude! I just read your comment to Ralphie and he laughed about the part that he is taller than the soldier statue. He was so proud standing next to the statue. We head back to the airport this Friday to pick up Daddy so maybe we will get some more airport photos!

So sweet your son is enjoying being featured on the blog! 🙂 I don’t know how you do it – some days my boys don’t want to take pics at all, haha! other days they ask me to take pics of them in the strangest places…kids! 🙂

Thanks for joining the #WeekdayWearLinkup! A new link up is live on my blog now, I’d love you to join again 🙂
Hope that you had a great weekend 🙂 We went to the movies and another Christmas party.

Thank you, Mica! Oh, Ralphie can be quite temperamental as well when it comes to picture taking. Sometimes I have to bribe him to get it done. Even thought he loves it once we are done and he is getting attention. Haha. Kids really are something else. We went to a Christmas dance musical this weekend. It was a lot of fun.
