Meet the Teacher
I went to meet my older son’s pre-K teacher yesterday and I wanted to be “mom casual.” I’m not sure exactly what that means, but I didn’t feel comfortable wearing jeans or shorts, so I opted for tan ankle length pixie pants. I wasn’t sure that a tank top displaying my tattoos was completely appropriate, but it was muggy and hot out and I would rather show my true colors than my sweat! So after playing with layers of lightweight cardigans and chambray shirts, I chose this indigo tank with white stripes and layered a thin scarf around my neck for some extra detail on an otherwise boring outfit. I love the mixed animal and geometric pattern on the scarf! I stuck with the practical choice of my super soft foot bed sandals in leopard. I also experimented with some pattern mixing here with a striped shirt, a printed scarf, and the leopard sandals. By the way, I am currently loving navy blue with leopard print!

I think it works. What do you think? How do you like to mix patterns? What’s your one go to item to add interest to a plain outfit?
Keeping it on the edge,
Shelbee
