Harvest Witch & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up On the Edge #723
I am feeling all sorts of witchy energy swirling about as the fall equinox is quickly approaching. Last week, I shared a whimsically witchy outfit in bright summer hues perfect for the final days of summer. However, the arrival of the equinox does not guarantee that the temperatures will begin to drop. We are still experiencing intense summer heat and humidity so I will be sticking with my summer wardrobe until the weather dictates a change.
Featuring rich shades of browns, rusts, and golds with a mixture of prints including mandalas and paisleys, this outfit reminds me more of a harvest witch than a whimsical one. Actually, it would have been perfect for our recent Thrifty Six theme of Bronzed and Browned except nothing is preloved or thrifted but my flea market earrings.
I recently purchased this dress during an end of season sale and it turned out to be so freaking comfortable that I immediately ordered two more. The print on this dress is called Batik Suns Deep Black but they look like little mandalas to me. I also have the dress in Burnt Ochre and Retro Floral Autumn Blossom. The fabric is a rayon/spandex blend but it feels like a heavy stretchy tee shirt knit. It has pockets and is super swishy, too! I have been wearing this one and the burnt ochre on repeat since I got them. I haven’t worn the retro floral yet.
When I first received the mandala print dress, I styled it with this kimono robe which was really cute with all the clashing patterns. But I didn’t love it as much as I wanted to. Then I remembered this caramel brown paisley and floral kimono robe which turned out to be the perfect partner for this dress. Now it is the only thing I wear with it.
I accessorized with the same necklace and hat from my Bronzed and Browned outfit earlier this week, my new chocolate brown Furkenstocks, and a pair of flea market earrings in rust and black to complete my harvest witch outfit for the autumn equinox.
“Autumn is the time of balance and sacrifice, a time when the light is waning. It is a time to reflect on the impermanence of life, to remember the dead, and to celebrate the harvest of the year’s crops.”
-Caitlin Matthews
Many blessings to you all in the new season.

You had me at Harvest Witch!!! What a freaking GORGEOUS outfit, Shelbee! I love everything about it, and chuckled when you called your sandals, furkenstocks!
I’m all about this look at the moment…so much so in fact that I’m currently selling my clothes on Vinted and I’m starting to buy a whole new wardrobe! I’m finally doing it. I’ve always wanted to have more of a Stevie Nicks meets Victorian Vampire CottageCore FairyCore vibe LOL! And I’m going for it! Watch this space (I know I’m a bit nuts).
Huge hugs

It’s a very pretty dress and sounds super comfortable too. How good that it is still that warm over there. I would be very happy if summer was all year round. Couldn’t check the other dresses as I was on a different browser and had to accept and login and didn’t want too, haha. But I am sure I will see te burnt ochre one soon!

Thanks so much, Nancy! I am holding onto summer for as long as I can! I just photographed two different stylings of the burnt ochre one this weekend so you will see it soon! Have a fabulous week, my friend.

Great autumnal vibes! I love the drama of the kimono at the back.

Thanks so much, Gail! The back is always the best part of the kimonos, in my opinion!

You’re right that would have made another fabulous browned and brozed outfit! We went from temps in the upper70’s/low 80’s to a week where it doesn’t look like it will even reach 65… so I’m pretty sure I’ll be digging out more fall clothing and packing even more summer stuff away this week.
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Thanks, Joanne! We are definitely out of the 80s range now with the mornings sitting in the 50s and the afternoons peaking in the mid-70s. So it still is really nice weather but it won’t be long before the real cold sets in! I am not quite ready for leggings though!

shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Aww, thanks so much, Debra! I look for unique kimonos pretty much everywhere I shop or I make my own by upcycling dresses and even bedsheets! I have so many and I love them all!

Even if the temperatures are still hanging on to summer, incorporating those browns and golds can really capture the spirit of the season. And those flea market earrings are a lovely touch! They’re like the perfect little nod to sustainable fashion. Can’t wait to see how you transition your style as the weather shifts!
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Thank you so much, Melody! I am trying to hang onto summer for as long as I can. I am not quite ready for leggings and long sleeve tees but sustainability will always be part of my wardrobe aesthetic, for sure! I hope you have a lovely week ahead!

Shelbee the good witch! I love this transitional outfit, the kimono is fabulous! It has beautiful seasonal fall colors, but is lightweight, so as to be comfortable for the still warm and humid weather. Same here in Maryland. Thanks for sharing and the link up, and hope you have a wonderful weekend!
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Hehehe, thanks so much, Di! I am definitely finding my witchy vibes for fall! I am not looking forward to putting away all of my dresses in exchange for leggings and long sleeve tee shirts though. I hope the week ahead is a beautiful one for you, my friend!

Your True Self
Hi, Shelbee – Great witchy inspiration here! I need more kimonos. Well, at least another short one. Well, maybe I shouldn’t be adding more and enough is enough. Lol! I’ve been repeating the mantra lately “let it go!” Which reminds me, your decorating passion is envious. Thanks for this autumn inspiration and the link up – Angie, http://www.yourtrueselfblog.com

Thanks so much, Angie! I am trying to be more minimalist myself but I don’t think there is such a thing as too many kimonos! If I see one, I generally cannot resist it. In fact, I just picked up a really pretty peach one at the thrift store last week! I hope you have a beautiful week ahead, my friend!
