Guest Post: Your Skincare Goals for 2018
*Note from Shelbee: Very recently, I have been noticing some major changes in my skin which apparently is a common occurrence for a woman of my age. I have never implemented much of a skin care routine other than washing my face with soap and water when I take a shower. As a result, I am not very well versed in the topic of skin care regiments. Today, I am sharing a post written by Georgia Seliah outlining some wonderful skincare goals for the new year. I hope you enjoy her tips.
Your Skincare Goals for 2018
Guest post by Georgia Selih
The year 2018 is finally here, and it’s about time you made some New Year’s resolutions if you already haven’t! If you are thinking about improving your skincare routine in order to make your skin look and feel fabulous this year, you’re at the right place. Just stay with us and keep on reading because we have four amazing skincare goals you should set in 2018. Check them out and give your skin what it deserves!
1. Don’t be afraid to go barefaced
No matter if you prefer a natural or a more extreme makeup look on a daily basis, the fact is that any amount of makeup can take a toll on your skin without you even noticing it. You should bear in mind that the key to a flawless makeup look is perfect skin, so be sure to take proper care of it and let it breathe at least once a week. Of course, we know that going in the public barefaced can be quite frustrating and intimidating, and that’s why you should invest in quality skincare products that minimize the appearance of pores. Retinol is a quite useful ingredient for this purpose, as well as charcoal that can draw dirt, bacteria, and makeup residue and successfully unclog your pores.
2. Get a quality facial scrub if you already haven’t
Exfoliation should be one of the most essential steps in your skincare routine since it can make your skin look healthy, radiant, and full of life in just a couple of minutes. That’s exactly why a gentle facial scrub is an absolute must if you want luminous skin in 2018. It’s important to say that such a scrub should be used two to three times a week – not more than that because your skin doesn’t need it. Once all those dead skin cells are gone, you’ll be able to see the new layer of healthy skin that has a beautiful glow, so don’t wait any longer and exfoliate your skin right now. However, if you think that buying a scrub is a waste of money, don’t worry – there are some great recipes for DIY homemade scrubs you can make from scratch. Apart from rejuvenating your skin, these will save you a lot of cash as well!
3. Stick to your trusty skincare routine
Sticking to a specific skincare routine that works for you is exactly what you should do in 2018 simply because finding appropriate creams and serums is a time-consuming process that can’t happen overnight. You must be consistent and persistent when it comes to taking proper care of your skin and one of the best ways to accomplish that is to adopt both a day and night routine for the most amazing results. You can find a lot of skincare treatments and products by numerous fantastic brands and choose the ones that best suit your skin type. Once your routines are established, do your best to stick to them since testing out too many new products at the same time can cause havoc on your skin and it’ll take you a lot of time, nerves, and money to repair the damage.
4. Explore the world of Korean sheet masks
Beauty gurus and YouTubers from all over the globe have been raving about sheet masks for a quite some time right now, but what do you really know about this Korean trend? Well, sheet masks are basically cotton-based sheets infused with all kinds of essences or serums targeted at numerous skincare issues. These are completely different from traditional cream masks simply because that cotton sheet plays a huge role in skincare. It creates a seal on the skin and therefore prevents the mask’s ingredients from evaporating. Besides that, it also helps the ingredients to penetrate deeper into the skin and nourish it from within. From drugstore to high-end skincare brands, everyone is turned to this amazing trend for a great reason – these masks give fabulous results and are really affordable at the same time. Does it get better than that? We don’t think so!
As you can see, each of these four skincare goals is truly worth your attention and you can be sure that these will help your skin look and feel like never before. Just make sure you stick to our tips and you’ll instantly see an outstanding improvement!

I do like days at home with no makeup, I feel like my skin needs a break every so often. The best skin booster I’ve found is going for a run, that really gets the circulation going! I still need to try one of those sheet masks. Thanks for linking up!

Emma, thanks for sharing your skin care tips as well! I am really digging the charcoal soap from Catalina’s Creations. I don’t even want to put makeup on after I wash with it because my skin just feels so darn clean! And exercise! Yes! I need to remember that exercise is good for the skin as well. Thank you for stopping by. I hope you are enjoying the weekend.
