Four Weeks in Tieks: The Versatility of Polka Dot Shoes & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up On the Edge #752

When I received my whimsical Echo Park ballet flats from Tieks four weeks ago, I wanted to see just how versatile polka dot footwear could be. I thought it would be a fun personal challenge to create at least four different outfit combinations featuring these spotted cuties on my feet.

My first styling and official review of these shoes was a pairing of wide legged jeans under my dress of many colors. The colorful chaos of that first outfit led me to a lively hodgepodge consisting of a vibrant multi-patterned skirt from Daenel, a green tee shirt, and a floral robe.

Clearly, these dotty shoes are working well with a mess of mixed up colors and patterns but my goal is to showcase their versatility which led to my third styling. I took a darker turn and wore black leggings under a black polka dot nightgown topped with a cozy yellow cardigan. Because Tieks feel more like slippers than shoes, I liked the idea of wearing them with pajamas as clothing. But I don’t love outfits that are so heavy on the black. I am finding very dark colored outfits much too dull for my aging eyes. The older I get, the more I crave the energy that comes with bright joyful colors.

Cue in my fourth interpretation, pairing my Tieks with a unique combination of colors. Feeling hopeful that spring temperatures will arrive before the summer solstice (it is currently snowing while I am typing this), I went for a cheerful concoction of red, pink, and blue, debuting a newly thrifted cotton tunic with new red leggings, my thrifted red rain coat, and my pink fedora. I even went as far as to coordinate my turquoise bralette with the signature blue color of the Tieks soles. I was unsure of this uncommon color palette but once I stepped outside into the dreary wet grayness of mud season, it immediately uplifted my spirits like a little injection of joyfulness straight to the soul. But maybe that was the magic of the shoes.

After four weeks in my Tieks, before the weather has even turned appropriate, I can honestly say that I am 100% completely satisfied with the comfort, durability, and versatility of these charming ballet shoes. I had given up on ballet flats but Tieks by Gavrieli has restored my faith in stylishly comfortable footwear, a welcomed treat for aging feet.

I am looking forward to wearing my Tieks time and time again throughout the summer months. They will be such a wonderful asset especially on days when my toes are less manicured than I prefer!
