Extra SIA Bonus Outfit | “Gosh! Do I Look as Old as All That!” by Dr. Seuss & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up On the Edge #706
When I first shared the artwork for this week’s Style Imitating Art challenge, I mentioned that I had photographed two different outfits to represent the Dr. Seuss painting that I chose. I was unable to decide which outfit better reflected the artwork so I shared the first outfit that I photographed on Monday. As I was getting dressed for that first set of photos, I spotted this floral dress hanging in my closet and the colors perfectly captured the essence of the painting. So I decided to photograph this one, too.
Since I had nothing planned to share with you today, I figured why not kick off the holiday weekend with an extra bonus SIA outfit.
I picked up this pretty sundress on clearance at the end of last summer and had quite forgotten about it. So I was excited for an opportunity and reason to wear it. Because the weather still had some briskness in the air, I layered the same black cropped tee from the first outfit underneath and a thrifted white cotton blazer on top to keep the chill off my back and shoulders.
I belted the dress for some waist definition and added my white cowgirl boots and white rose print cowgirl hat with the same feather earrings and wooden beaded necklace from the first outfit.
I thought the dress really represented the painting well but the yellow background in my photos was throwing me off. But I also think this dress is very suitable for the Memorial Day weekend.
Which outfit do you prefer? Also check out the gallery of all the other outfits that were inspired by Dr. Seuss’s “Gosh! Do I Look as Old as All That!”
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

What a fabulous wardrobe find, that sundress is gorgeous and it suits you! Love the idea of pairing it with a tshirt too! Thank you for hosting and fave a lovely weekend! Sim x

Aww, thank you so much, Sim! I have been doing this tee shirt under a sundress thing since the 1990s because my shoulders just get too darn cold to bare them. And if it’s hot enough to bare my shoulders then I burn so badly that I have to keep layers on anyway. I hope you have a wonderful weekend as well!

Shelbee, you chose a really fun piece of artwork for this challenge! I love both of your interpretations, and all of the ladies did such a great job. The colors of your sundress are such a great match for the painting, and the outfit looks so festive. I think it is a great for the holiday weekend! Enjoy yourself, and thanks for hosting link up!

Thank you so much, Di! I thought this was a really fun one, too. I would wear this dress over the weekend except I am doing mostly dirty house chores and repairs all weekend. Maybe I will wear it for my birthday day date on Thursday though! I hope you have a lovely weekend, my friend.

I really like this outfit. And the background IMO did this in a beautiful fashion. The yellow emphasized the colors in the dress. Very good for Dr Suess, Oh, Do I really Look as Old as All That.
I linked up with #20 and #21.
Take care and best wishes.

Thank you so much, Debra! I really liked the yellow background with the dress, too, but it didn’t quite match the dark moody background of the painting. It’s all bright and cheerful! I hope you have a most wonderful weekend!

Thanks so much, Marsha! I can’t believe I had forgotten all about this pretty dress! I would wear it this weekend except I am spending the weekend doing all sorts of things around the house. The kind of things that require the old paint stained work clothes!

I love how you captured the essence of the Dr. Seuss painting with both outfits! The floral dress looks stunning with the black cropped tee and white blazer. The accessories, especially the white cowgirl boots and hat, add a fun and stylish touch. Great job!
