Cats and Kimonos by Ulivary & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up On the Edge #687

This is my final kimono robe from Ulivary showcasing my apparent love of leopards. I am a cat lady as well as an obsessive wearer of long robe-like garments so show me a cat on a kimono and I’m sold. However, despite my love of big cats, small cats, spotted cats, striped cats, furry cats, bald cats, and cats of any other shape, size, color, or coat, I don’t always love to wear the cats and cat prints.

In fact, my Black Leopard Kimono Robe inspired me to further investigate my feelings about feline fabrics. While I can sometimes be fickle when it comes to incorporating cats into my closet, these stunning robes from Ulivary are helping to firmly cement my love of leopards. Sartorially speaking, cats are where it’s at for me!

When I first received my Ulivary long robes for women, I was very impressed with the super soft quality of the fabric. The texture feels just like natural silk but requires much less care than silk. All Ulivary products are constructed from high quality polyester charmeuse that is super soft, lightweight, and breathable as well as machine washable and wrinkle resistant.

I have not laundered my robes yet so I cannot speak to how well they wash. Because of the fringe, I will most likely hand wash this particular kimono. I have learned from past laundering mistakes that silky fringes get totally destroyed in the washing machine no matter how many precautions you take. If you want your fringed things to last, handwashing in the sink the old school way is the best way.

Ulivary robes are designed to fit most U.S. sizes from S to 2XL. They have a collar loop for easy hanging, a detachable matching waist tie, and inside ties for secure closure. Side slits and French seams give each kimono robe an elegance that allows you to wear them for any occasion. These robes are not just for wearing indoors. They really deserve to be showcased outdoors.

When it was time to style this Tassels Leopard Kimono Robe, I actually struggled a bit. My first attempt was a black column that consisted of leggings and a tunic worn underneath the robe. The outfit was okay in the mirror but the black column photographed more like a black shapeless blob so I needed to restyle and reshoot this kimono. And I am so glad that I did because it looks much better over this gorgeous tan dress with green velvety flowers.

This dress is a recent wardrobe addition that I wore to Jeff’s work holiday party. This was before I owned these amazing Ulivary kimono robes, so I styled the dress with a thrifted black velvet duster, my green velvet boots, and a black and green velvet shawl/scarf. Jeff coordinated with me in a green checked shirt, dark gray pants, and tan shoes. We felt great as we headed out to that party but by the time we got home, Jeff had a fever which ultimately turned out to be Covid for all of us. Thankfully, that is all in the past now.

Since I had recently worn this dress, it was hanging front and center in my closet room right next to my new leopard fringe kimono robe. The two garments hanging in tandem made me quickly realize how perfectly the colors coordinated and the styling was easy peasy from that point forward. My light teal Panama hat and green Teddy Blake bag really helped to highlight the beautiful shade of teal that trims my kimono robe. I used the matching waist tie to belt my dress instead of closing the robe. I rarely ever tie my kimonos closed anyway but I always like to find creative ways to incorporate the matching belts into my outfits either as a hair tie, as a scarf, or as a hat band.

In keeping with the leopard theme, I brought out my old thrifted leopard coat. I haven’t worn this coat in a while so it was really nice to bring the ole girl out for a little show-off. The length of the coat was perfect with this kimono, too. The hem of the coats hits right at the top of the fringe creating a really sassy effect when I am walking away.

I kept my jewelry in shades of green and tan, accessorizing with my new copper and teal earrings that were in my Christmas stocking this year, my green stone tree of life necklace, and this amazing long tassel necklace that I picked up in a boutique in Asheville, North Carolina, during our fall road trip in October. My preloved brown cowgirl boots seemed the obvious choice for this East meets West outfit styling. Kimonos, cats, and cowgirl boots! Yes, please.
