And in the Blink of an Eye…
…Eight years has flown by. Where does the time go? How can it move so slowly yet fly by so quickly? My baby is 8 today!
We celebrated Radical Ralphie‘s 8th birthday yesterday with a few friends, some pizza, and an amazing strawberry flavored strawberry cake from my favorite baker ever, Monica of Europe Cakes.
We started the day with a trip to the park while Archie and Jeff ran some last minute party errands.
We ate and laughed and had an obstacle course in the backyard. Then we went to the playground with our friends for two hours in the evening. We finally have some beautiful spring weather here and we took full advantage of it yesterday.
Ralph received all the gifts that he wanted including Robux gift cards from his friends and a hoverboard from his Pap. He also got a new Nerf gun from his friends, his hoverboard protective gear from us, a Lego set from his brother, and a remote control car from his Gramma.
He literally wore his helmet and safety pads all day long. We had to coax him out of them at bedtime!
And he was right back to cruising around the house on his hoverboard before the sun even came up this morning!
Then he took this crazy photo of me while riding his hoverboard because he said it looked like I had my very own Shadowman. He is currently obsessed with Are You Afraid of the Dark? and seems to see the Shadowman everywhere.
For his second consecutive Covid birthday, I have to say that it was quite successful and a great time was had by all!

The obstacle course in the backyard is such a great idea! My boys love them. Hoverboards are fun, we started with one last year that the boys bought with their money now we have 3. I am amazed at the kids’ balance: they can do squats on them and other exercises.

Thanks, Mireille! I wanted to do some harder obstacle course challenges, but it was so muddy out there that I couldn’t unless I wanted a horrific mess to clean up! Ralph is really quite adept on his hoverboard as well because his friend next door was letting him ride hers all the time. Just yesterday, however, we had a big argument with him because he wanted to ride his hoverboard outside with no shoes and in the street. He got so mad at us when we said no way and it resulted in him not riding it at all. These kids! But he cracks me up when he squats down really low on the hoverboard with a nerf gun and he spins all around and says that he is an Army tank! Haha. Their imaginations are so wonderful even when their behaviors may not be!
