5 Top Earring Designs to Consider for 2022
Many women regard earrings as an essential accessory that they wear every single day. As a daily worn item, most women likely own a few pairs of earrings in various designs for different types of occasions. If your jewelry box is looking rather bare or you have just become bored of your current collection of ear candy, you may want to consider visiting reading jewellery shops by going to Jacobs The Jeweller and adding a few new earring designs that are trending this year.
1. Drooping Diamonds
Every woman deserves to have a pair of diamond earrings that dangles provocatively alongside her cheek and sparkles all night long in royal fashion. You can buy brand new diamond earrings to add to your collection or perhaps vintage is more your style. Vintage drop diamond earrings are perfect for a gala dinner, a charity ball, or a romantic dinner date. If you are interested in quality antique and vintage jewelry, check with antique dealers near you or online. Antique jewelry can also be considered a wise long term investment as the stunning creations made with top quality stones and metals will appreciate in value over time. Plus vintage jewelry ensures that you have a one of a kind piece in your jewelry collection.
2. Pearl or Diamond Studs
Pearl stud earrings are a must have in any woman’s jewelry collection. They are perfect for business lunches, church events, or just regular everyday wear. While colored stones are ideal for adding a splash of color to your lobes, some shiny pearly white studs also do the trick. During the Victorian era, pearls were very popular in jewelry making. You can still find some of the finest Victorian pearl earrings available through antique dealers.
Women’s diamond studs are also a great option in accessories as they are very versatile and can be styled with anything. They do say that diamonds are a girl’s best friend so I consider diamond studs to be a must-have in every jewelry collection. Kalmar Antiques offers the best antique earrings Australia has to offer. You will find quality diamonds that were hand cut into unique designs.
But if diamond and pearls are not really your thing, any gemstone can be used to create stud earrings. You can visit a custom jeweler to help bring your earring vision to life.
3. Hoop Earrings
Hoop earrings are a timeless classic in jewelry design and can be the perfect style to inject some bright colors into your jewelry wardrobe. Most online jewelers offer extensive catalogues of products so you surely would be able to find a hoop style earring that suits you. Large or small, hoops are ideal for most casual situations as they add a touch of glamour and sophistication to any look.
One unique stone that has been used to create hoop style earrings is jade. While jade may sometimes be considered costume jewelry as opposed to fine jewelry, you still may be able to find jade earrings through a vintage jewelry dealer. Costume jewelry is a great option if you are on a spending budget as well because it is relatively inexpensive and popular enough to have lots of variety of choice.
4. Decorative Dangles
Made from a wide range of materials, decorative dangles with intricate patterns in sterling silver are great for party outfits. You can find dangles that also include colored beads or stones to really brighten up your look. If you prefer genuine antique dangle earrings, you can search online for a leading antique dealers that focus primarily on jewelry.
5. Elegant Emeralds
Any woman’s jewelry box would be enriched by a stunning pair of emerald earrings. However, most new emerald earrings are crafted with lab created emeralds. So if you are looking for genuine emeralds, the best place to source them would be through an online antique dealer. Dealers who specialize in antique and vintage products have a global network of collectors which makes it easier for you to find a design that meets your jewelry wants and needs. Perhaps emeralds are not your thing. You can search online dealers for whichever gemstone you prefer from sapphires and opals to rubies and garnets and everything in between.
As all things in fashion cycle back around again and again, the century old styles of the 1920s are back in fashion today with Art Deco making a huge comeback. This trend in antique and throw back styles has brought vintage jewelry into high demand. Of course, some women prefer wearing replicas for a variety of reasons from budget to ease of shopping. But there is something extra special about genuine antique and vintage jewelry which brings to life the colorful history behind women’s accessories.

Me, too, Nancy! I wear them everyday even when I don’t really get dressed.

Out of sheer laziness, I keep the same black Native American double triangle studs in my ears all the time. I acquired them a long, long time ago, maybe on Martha’s Vineyard.
I’ve had moments wearing dangles (wearing them all the time too), and then I’ll loose one and return to the studs.
If I don’t wear a pair 24/7, I’ll forget to put then on and walk around feeling oddly naked.

Anne, I love that story! I used to have a whole bunch of tiny silver hoops all up both my lobes and I never changed them. Until I had to take them out for my first C-section. Then it became too troublesome to put them all back in and now only the bottom piercings are still open. Ever since then, I can’t sleep with earrings on either even though I slept wearing them for years before that. I generally reach for my diamond hoops for everyday wear now. But of course, I match my earrings to my outfits when I am actually trying! Haha. I don’t wear very many stud earrings though because I find them terribly uncomfortable. They pinch my lobes too much…I think I have fat meaty lobes that are too thick for the length of the stud. (That sentence sounds ridiculously inappropriate, doesn’t it?) I also feel oddly naked if I am dressed and not wearing earrings!

Although Nigel bought me a large set of diamond studs last year, my favorite earrings are definitely dangling statement earrings as long as they’re lightweight. I have a gorgeous pair from Banana Republic that I really only wear occasionally because they’re so heavy!
Fun post, Shelbee!

Thanks so much, Marsha! I love my diamond hoops, but I also enjoy long dangling statement earrings. And they definitely need to be lightweight!

My favorite style? The ones I make. 😄 But for my everyday, small hoops. I have 3 piercings in one ear and 2 in the other, I keep a set of titanium hoops in them 24/7.

Aw, I love that response, Michelle! I used to wear a whole bunch of hoops 24/7. But I took them out when I had my first C-section and never put them back. Now I can’t stand to wear any jewelry 24/7! But I do miss the ease of my simple all the time silver hoops.
