4 Ways Meditation Can Improve Your Life
People are always looking for small changes that they can make in their lives in order to make a positive change to their health. Dedicating a bit of time to meditation every day or even just once a week can be a very beneficial method for affecting the desired changes.
If you have never practiced meditation before, it is a technique that you need to try and then slowly turn it into a lifestyle habit. It can help you to be more in the present and become more aware of your surroundings and yourself. There are many different ways that you can meditate, you just have to find the one method that is most comfortable for you. Some examples include mindfulness meditation and breath awareness meditation. During the meditation process, using Buddhist mala beads or a downloaded app can keep you focused. Keep in mind that meditation is a very personal experience, so there really is no prescribed set of standards for how to do it. You just try it and see what works best for you. Through this trial and error process, you will find that meditation can improve your life in at least four ways, and if you couple this practice with conjure oils, the options may be limitless.
As a person who struggles with silencing my mind enough to meditate, I often use cannabis products before beginning mediation practices. When the THC in marijuana plants is converted to delta 8 THC, it provides wonderful benefits in the treatment of things like anxiety and stress. Delta 8 THC also provides a longer shelf life for efficacy of the cannabinoid products. It is the perfect supplement to make meditation practices more focused and more beneficial. If you are unsure which cannabis products are right for you, visit https://wccannabis.co/buy-weed-online-bc/ for a wide variety of options and dosages.
In addition to cannabis products, there are other natural supplements that are equally effective like a popular herb derived from a plain looking Southeast Asian evergreen tree that can be use as a sedative or a stimulant depending on the dosage.
1.Decrease in stress.
Stress is a major component of modern day life which has been shown time and again to have adverse affects on both your physical and mental health. High levels of stress can induce insomnia, increase your blood pressure, and make you more prone to depression and anxiety. Meditation can help reduce the impact of daily stress by halting your mind from wandering and clearing it so you are able to focus on the present and be in the moment.
2. Increased concentration.
Meditation requires you to focus on an idea, object, or activity for a stipulated period of time without letting your mind wander. After practicing mindful meditation for just a few weeks, you will notice an increase in the duration of time that you are able to sit quietly in peaceful meditation and remain concentrated and focused. The process for training one’s mind is similar to training one’s body for physical improvements. Just as you might do push ups and sit ups to improve the physical health of your body, meditation trains your mind to be able to focus on a single task for longer which results in an overall increased level of concentration.
3. Improved sleep.
Meditation can be beneficial for those who struggle with various forms of insomnia and other sleep issues. Many people have difficulty taming their racing thoughts when they lie down in bed at night. Meditation offers us techniques to control the racing thoughts in a productive manner so that we are able to allow our brains and our bodies to get adequate rest through sleeping. When you practice mediation, you learn how to control your thoughts to focus on the task or mantra at hand. So at the time of night when sleep is necessary, you may find it easier to turn off the racing thoughts so you can fall asleep and stay asleep. Meditation will also promote full body relaxation, rid your body of tensions, and assist in the falling asleep process.
4. Reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety.
As mentioned previously, meditation allows you to train your brain or mind through actively focusing on a task, object, or idea. It can help you to become more aware of what is going on around you, help you to understand how you are feeling, and give you some control over your racing thoughts. It is not a magic fix for anxiety or depression and it may not work for everyone, but regular meditative practices could assist you by giving you a way to cope and manage your symptoms.
Meditation has also been shown to help people think more positively about life and about how they see themselves which can change your entire perception of your reality, helping to shift depressive thoughts into more positive ones. It is almost a fail proof skill to acquire. You really cannot be any worse off after trying meditative practices.
Do you practice meditation or other mindful activities? How do they benefit your life?

Something that I have been learning. I love the quiet time and just sitting there with my eyes closed in any position and not thinking of anything.

It is an important skill to learn, I think. I need to get better at it, or more frequent actually. I usually have more luck with mindful meditation when I smoke a little marijuana first. Thanks for reading and commenting, Patrick!

Great post Shelbee. Medidation has definitely saved me from going onto blood pressure medication years ago due to an increased heartrate from stress. While I don’t practice it on my own regularily now, my yoga instructor always ends yoga with a few minutes of mindful meditation and I’m sure it’s as beneficial as the yoga itself is.
Hope you’re having lots of fun on your trip!

Ellie, thank you so much! I am getting better about taking a few minutes every day to just sit peacefully and clear my head in mindful meditation. I guess every little bit helps, right? I could certainly use more of it though. Isn’t it amazing how we can lower our heart rate and blood pressure just by easing some of life’s stressors? I have high blood pressure as well and try to do things to prevent having to take medication for it. I should really add some yoga in at some point. My trip has been amazing so far! I am having a blast!
