A Little Post About Gratitude & Link Up On the Edge #50
Today started out to be quite dreadful. It began with a feverish and vomiting child, miserable PMS getting the best of me in every possible way, a broken toilet, and gray rainy weather. I succumbed to the misery for a brief moment (well maybe for a good 6-8 hours), but as I am writing this I have decided to change my perspective. The child is starting to feel better, nothing serious but a mild stomach bug. The toilet has been fixed by my incredible husband. The PMS and the rain are still persisting, but these things shall pass. So enough of all that nonsense, instead I want to talk about…

How to Style a Tie Dyed Neckerchief & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #27
If you know me at all from a style perspective, then you know that scarves are my thing. My favorite accessory ever. The easiest way to add color and interest to any outfit. Although my personal collection of scarves runs in excess of 100 (probably closer to 200, if I am being completely honest), I still cannot pass up a fun and interesting scarf when I see one. And when I saw this adorable tie dyed bandana made by Heather of HomemadeHaven, I simply could not pass it by. I love the deep blues and purples in the dyes she chose. And I thought it would be the perfect accessory…

It’s Time For You To Love Your Legs with Zaful
Our legs. Many of us seem to have issues with our legs. They are too fat. They are too skinny. They are wrinkly. They are pale. They are splotchy. They jiggle. They touch. They have visible veins. They are ashy. And this is a big one… I have heard this from a multitude of women… “I hate my knees and I need to cover them.” I hate my knees. When asked what they hate about their knees, none have been able to provide an answer other than “I don’t know. I just don’t like they way they look.” *This is a sponsored post by Zaful. As always, all thoughts and…

The Right to Change Your Mind & Link Up On the Edge #49
Way back in the infancy of this blog, I wrote a post 39 Lessons I Have Learned on My Journey Out of the Darkness into My Happiness. It is still one of my favorite posts. It took a lot of energy to draft and it’s long. But it’s heartfelt and intense at points. Just last night the topic of women always changing their minds came up. Often, among couples this is a common joke…how the man in the relationship is steadfast and consistent in his wants, needs, ideas, and beliefs and how the female is fickle and flighty and inconsistent in making decisions. In light of this age old (mis)conception,…

Something Borrowed, Something Blue & A Zaful Anniversary Giveaway
I went a little bit out of my comfort zone on this one…and just like I always say…great things happen there! Here’s the story… A bunch of things happened to make me uncomfortable. First of all, this beautiful dress from Zaful is short, my friends. Really short. If I bend down, you are catching a glimpse of my under pieces for certain! At first I tried to wear a slip underneath to add a little extra length, but it ended up in the realm of frumpville. So I ditched the slip and went a little crazy with my pale bare legs! *This is a sponsored post. As always, all thoughts…

The Perfect Accessory for the Antique Boat Museum and #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #26
For Father’s Day this weekend, my husband and I decided a nice outdoor family activity would be a great way to celebrate. So we packed the kids into the car and headed out to Clayton, New York. Sunday was hot and humid and downright disgusting, so when I saw on my weather app that Clayton was going to be about 5 degrees cooler than Watertown, it was totally worth the 30 minute drive from our house. Plus I wanted to photograph my adorable new crocheted neckerchief made by a local crafter, Linda Gibbs Handmade. I picked up this cute little accessory on Wednesday when I ran into Linda at our…

Self Confidence Saturdays with Torrid & Link Up On the Edge #48
If I am being honest, which I always try to keep it real and honest here, I am feeling quite lazy and don’t much have it in me to write something of substance today. Don’t misunderstand, it’s not that I don’t have anything to say. I have plenty to say, in fact. But I need some time to focus and put all of my ideas in order so I can deliver you the best content possible. So for today, to kick off the weekend, I am just going to share with you this pretty wrap dress from Torrid. Peach is not a color that I am generally drawn to, but…

Welcome to June’s edition of The Bad Buy Book! The Bad Buy Book is a series hosted by Shelbee of Shelbee on the Edge and Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style. We wanted to establish something fun and new together. Since we had both talked about our Sitting Shoes, we came up with the idea for The Bad Buy Book! We all do our best to look great in our outfits, choose the right accessories, the right makeup, the perfect shoes, and wait for the best light to shoot the most flattering outfit photos. And now we are asking you to show us the items you don’t feel your very best…

A Little Piece of Home at The Marcy Spa & Salon and #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #25
Military life often takes you far away from your friends and family. Usually for the duration of the service member’s career. Sometimes, if you get lucky, you might find yourself stationed very close to home. If that happens, it is typically only for a short period of time…a year or two. So with each new place you find yourself, you have to make new friends and discover new places for your shopping, dining, and personal care needs. I have always believed that a great hair stylist is just as important as a reliable mechanic. Because, let’s face it, I am as incapable of cutting my own hair as I am of…

Good Versus Evil & Link Up On the Edge #47
Good versus evil. It is a universal dichotomy that is as old as time. And it is a metaphysical idea that creeps into my brain in the wee hours of the night. (Or in the shower…I often do my best philosophical thinking in the shower). It is a topic that repeats itself over and over again in movies, in television, in songs, in religion, in law, in psychology. At times, it seems as if we are almost obsessed with the idea, but more so, we are obsessed with trying to make sense of it. *This is a sponsored post. I received this scarf c/o DressLily. As always , all thoughts…
