Pebble Portrait and #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #7

In follow up to my Anniversary post yesterday, I want to share with you the Anniversary gift that I got for my husband. I am so, so excited about this original piece of artwork that is now prominently displayed in the midst of all of our family wedding photos.

Wendy Pound is the artistic genius behind this gorgeous Pebble Portrait which features a bride and groom in the setting sun. It is also personalized with our Anniversary date. I first met Wendy at a vendor show where I was set up with Shelbee’s Shoppe. First, we simply hit it off on a personal level. She and her sister, Lisa of Morgia Designs (whom I featured in my post New Year’s Resolution 2017: I Choose Joy) attended the same vendor show and had their tables set up right next to mine. The sisterly affection and connection between these two amazing women really made me miss my sister! But their joy and their energy is so infectious that I simply felt blessed just to be in their presence.

Second, the amount of artistic talent in these two women just completely amazes me!  I could not resist the temptation to bring home one of Wendy’s stunning pieces and with our anniversary not too far in the future, this bride and groom portrait was an easy choice. But she has so many amazing portraits that it really is quite difficult to choose a favorite.

Have a look…

I want to share a bit about Wendy with you (from her own informational postcard)…She was born and raised in upstate New York in a family of 6 children. Wendy spent her summers at the family cottage on Morgia’s Beach in Sackets Harbor, New York. Growing up on the lake, Wendy naturally posseses a lifelong appreciation for the beach and its waters.

As she grew up, she began looking at it all from a different perspective. While she always collected shells, glass, and rocks on the beach as a child, this fascination has grown to the point that Wendy can no longer take a walk on the beach without bringing home a pocketful of pebbles! She never looks at any pebble in the same way as another but rather she appreciates the uniqueness of each individual pebble that she picks up. Wendy is constantly amazed by the unique beauty within each stone, each piece of sea glass, each shell, and each piece of driftwood. This appreciation is evident in her brilliant artwork.

In Wendy’s own words, “It’s exciting looking through the water and finding just the right one for a unique story. I believe every portrait tells a story. Memories shared with loved ones or special moments. Thank you for taking the time to look and enjoy the simplicity yet peaceful art. What story would you tell?”

I am literally obsessed with Wendy’s Pebble Portraits! I think they make the most fabulous special occasion gifts or “just because” gifts. They are so unique and interesting and peaceful and completely one-of-a-kind just like each pebble used in the portraits. Just like Wendy herself! I highly receommend visiting her page and veiwing all of her other Pebble Portraits. Which one would you choose?
