Olympic Stadium in Lake Placid, New York & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #287
Last weekend we took a family day trip to Burlington, Vermont, and we stopped in Lake Placid, New York, on the way home to visit Olympic Stadium, the site of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympic Games. We also explored the shops near the stadium and visited John Brown Farm, which was a very powerful experience that I will share in a later post. This post is dedicated to the joy of friendly competition that the Olympic Games inspire. But first, we enjoyed a hearty breakfast in our hotel in Plattsburgh, New York. Then we visited John Brown Farm first as it was on the way to Olympic Stadium. You…

Family Day Trip to Burlington, Vermont & Link Up On the Edge #307
In yesterday’s post, 5 Tips for Making the Most Out of Your Weekends, I shared a few photographs from last weekend when we went on a little family road trip to Burlington, Vermont. Now I will tell you about our trip. We reserved a hotel room in Plattsburgh, New York, which is approximately a 3 1/2 hour drive from our house and just a short ferry ride across Lake Champlain into Vermont. 5 Tips for Making the Most Out of Your Weekends
If you work a full time job, it can often feel like you never have any time off. With your free time limited to weekends, it can go by so quickly that it feels like Monday comes way too fast and you are back to the work grind before you even started enjoying the weekend. If we get stuck in that cycle, years can pass us by before we realize we have not done any of the things that we enjoy doing. All work and no play makes…

Festival Camping at Smoked Country Jam & Link Up On the Edge #301
We had the best weekend ever at Smoked Country Jam in the wilds of Pennsylvania. As usual, I did not take very many photos at all. I didn’t even take one single picture of the bands who played at the festival and I didn’t get any photos with any of my friends who I saw there. But it doesn’t matter because I was present and living in all of the beautiful moments that happen at festivals like these. About a thousand memories were made in those four days and that can happen with or without photographs. I combined the few pictures that I took with the few that Jeff took…

10 on the 10th: June 2022-10 Questions About Vacation & Link Up On the Edge #299
It is time again for my dear friend Marsha in the Middle’s 10 on the 10th series. Each month, Marsha announces a theme to inspire a list of 10 things to be shared on the 10th of each month. This is only the second time I have joined because I never could quite get my act together. But now I have marked my calendar and scheduled the 10th of each month for these posts. They are a great way to share a bit more about myself that I otherwise may have never even thought to share. So thank you, Marsha, for hosting this creative content series. Last month, we talked about…

How to Successfully Plan Your Next Vacation
Going on vacation is always fun but sometimes making the plans can also be exciting. As you begin planning your next trip, consider these five elements in your decision making process to ensure that you will have the best possible vacation. 1. Where do you want to go? Obviously, the first choice you need to make is where you want to go for vacation. Are you ready for sunning yourself on a beach somewhere in the tropics? Maybe you prefer a luxurious resort like Rosewood Mayakoba with its winding lagoons and powdery white beaches? Or perhaps you have sightseeing and exploration adventures in mind? When you think about what you…
