Thoughts of the Day
My life has qualified me as "experienced" on such topics as Army life, parenting, mental health, loss and grief, multi-tasking, and adapting to all things new (good, bad, or indifferent). I will share my thoughts on these topics and hopefully you will find some calm in the chaos knowing that others have been where you are.

A Visit to the Rochester Museum & Science Center and Strasenburgh Planetarium
Today is my firstborn’s 11th birthday so I first want to wish a very happy day to Archie as he embarks on the next year of of his beautiful life. We are having his birthday party next weekend, however, due to some scheduling conflicts. He decided on a party at Escape the Mystery Room followed by pizza and cake at our house which keeps it super simple for me. I will share some photos next week because you know I have to showcase his birthday cake! He picked a really silly design this time and I am excited to see how our favorite baker Monica pulls it off! On Friday,…

The Happiest Place on Earth & Link Up On the Edge #293
Have you ever been to the happiest place on earth? And no, I am not talking about Disney World. I have been to Disney World four times and I swear to you I was never as happy there as I was at the Strong Museum of Play in Rochester, New York. Plus it was only a two hour drive from home instead of a two hour flight and a whole day in the museum for this family of four cost a whopping $56 (with our military discount, of course). What does it cost for a family of four to visit Disney World these days, I wonder. I am guessing a…

Destress Your Drive with Easy Vehicle Updates
Does driving on the road make you anxious? If so, you are definitely not alone. I know I talk frequently of my fondness for solo road trips. The frequency and severity of domestic violence can vary dramatically; however, domestic violence often involves coercive control tactics such as intimidation including threats, isolation, and economic abuse in addition to physical violence. There are qualified criminal attorneys in Los Angeles who are skilled in defending those accused. Although domestic violence happens in all types of relationships, it most often occurs between intimate partners (spouses or domestic partners) and family members. In the United States,…

Happy Birthday, Pepsi Man! & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #267
Yesterday was Ralph’s birthday so for the next 5 1/2 weeks I am the mother of 9 and 10 year old boys. We celebrated on Saturday with a small party that did not go at as planned but resulted in Ralph getting three separate birthday parties. All Ralph wanted to do for his party was play virtual reality with his friends and family so we booked a party at Zero Latency Virtual Reality in our local mall. You can have 8 players per game and it is kind of pricey ranging from $30-50 for 30 minutes of playtime per person). Our 8 players were to be 4 adults and 4…

Highlights from My North Carolina Road Trip & Link Up On the Edge #287
Finally, I am getting around to sharing some photos from my recent road trip to North Carolina. I arrived home on March 1 and slept for about a week which set me even further behind on everything. Then I spent a week catching up only to find myself behind again. I guess that is just the way life goes. Anyway, let’s get to it. I arrived at my friend Becca’s house in Tuckasegee, North Carolina, on Wednesday evening after dropping my kids off in Pennsylvania. I shared that part of my trip a few weeks ago. Knowing that I would be pooped from 12 hours of driving, Becca picked up…
