The Magnificent 8 Restyled
For this quarterly installation of our ageless style challenge, Jodie suggested that we restyle something that we have worn previously for this Magnificent 8 collaboration. I was thrilled with this idea because I had already restyled something and had the photographs to prove it.
As it happens, when I took outfit photos for our Simply Red challenge last October, I had restyled the shirt, boots, and jewelry from that outfit with the kimono robe that I had styled the same day for a Style Imitating Art challenge.
After photographing these two outfits that were created for those specific challenges, I decided to change into my comfies for the day. My comfies usually consist of leggings and an oversized shirt. So I kept the red and black gingham shirt and my red cowgirl boots, added black leggings, and the patterned kimono robe, and swapped my Panama hat for a black knit beanie, creating a casual and cozy fall outfit using pieces from two different dressier combinations.
This third outfit combination was intended for puttering around the house all day so I almost didn’t photograph it. But then I thought it was a better representation of what I actually wear every day so I photographed it for future use.
Here we are one year later and Jodie drops the perfect style challenge into my lap!
Now let me introduce the ladies of The Magnificent 8 so you can see what they have restyled.
The Magnificent 8 is a collaboration among 8 stylish women, each in a different age bracket, ranging from 20’s to 80’s. Plus you get a bonus 9th outfit from Jodie! The mission of this collaboration is to show you just how ageless style is, how we can each dress however we’d like and in ways that make us feel fabulous. There are no age restrictions on style. So wear what you want, when you want, add a smile, and walk out into the world with confidence.
Every quarter, we choose a theme and each create an outfit that suits our own personal tastes and fashion choices and we post them on the last Wednesday of every third month. So be sure to go check out everyone’s posts for lots of style inspiration at any age!

Well, that was definitely a serendipitous event! I actually kinda like the new look best of all…that red shirt really makes the whole outfit come alive! Don’t you just love it when something like that happens?

It’s so great you were able to take the pieces of the 2 outfits you liked and make a third great outfit 🙂 I always want to be comfortable at home – that’s why so much of my wardrobe is elastic waist and oversized shapes, haha! Dressed for errands or WFH, but also extremely comfortable!
This was a good theme and I’m glad you had the outfit ready to go!

Thanks, Mica! Comfort is definitely key these days for me, too. I spend most of my time at home either working on my laptop, choring, or crafting, so I need easy comfortability. But I also like to look put together in case I have to go into the kids’ schools for any reason or for appointments and other errands outside of the house. This was a really great theme and perfectly serendipitous for me!
