The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Sheer
Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book!
The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book is a monthly series hosted by Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style and myself. Every month, we invite you to share a photo or two of your Good (or Bad) Buy items that fit the stated theme. We ask that you also provide a short description explaining if the item you are sharing was a Good Buy or one that you will be saying Good-Bye to (formerly known as Bad Buys). Nancy and I will both publish a round up post featuring all of the submissions on the 15th of each month.
Anyone who would like to participate and be featured can send us their photos with a short description via email. You do not have to be a blogger to join. Anyone is welcome! We will give you the theme for the next month at the conclusion of each post. Photos will be due to us by the 10th of the month.
The theme for May is Sheer, which means anything that you can see through including lace, gauze, chiffon, georgette, muslin, organdy, organza, mesh, fishnet, tulle, and even that clear plastic stuff used for umbrellas and rain coats. We have received a fun variety of all sorts of sheer things so let’s get to it!
*If you sent me a photo, but do not see it in my post, be sure to check Nancy’s post. If you don’t see your photo on either post, please let us know right away and we will add it. Sometimes the submissions can get lost in the shuffle.

Up Next for June…Pearls!
You are invited to join us in June to share your favorite (or least favorite) Pearly things. This could include pearl jewelry or other pearl embellished things like handbags, jackets, sweaters, dresses, or shoes. Anything you have with pearls on it, whether they are real or fake pearls, we want to see them! You are welcome to send two photos if you’d like to be featured on both blogs. Remember to include a brief description about your submissions. Please submit your photos and descriptions by the 10th of June to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to info@nancysfashionstyle.com so we can put you in the spotlight.
*By joining The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book, you agree to receive a monthly reminder email for this series.

Fun topic! And I love seeing everybody’s sheer pieces. Your dress is beautiful! And the fact that you’ve worn it once in 5 years demonstrates why I don’t have any sheer items. I pressed for space as it is, and wearing sheer items isn’t one of my faves so…. Now I need to make a pearl necklace! Or two.

Thanks so much, Michelle! I actually do wear sheer things with frequency. This dress might just be a little too dressy for my lifestyle! I have another sheer outfit to share on Thursday for Your Own Twist’s Going Goth theme!

I really think sheer pieces can look so amazing. I have quite a few, but don’t wear them often.

Sheer is so much fun. On the topic of SHEER today, May 15th. 2023 is National Stockings Day just a day to late to show some of are joiners showing off their sheer stockings. It’s not a National holiday but many take the day off work to have a chance to show off their sheer colorful stockings. Some with back seams and those pretty garters that ladies use to wear before hold ups and pantyhose came to be. Oh, and I do love your shoes and ankle length fishnet socks your wearing. Have great day.

Your True Self
Hi, Shelbee – I don’t shy away from sheer and I do love the sheer dresses and maxi skirts. But I just haven’t been able to visualize how to wear them. I don’t have the hang of it. I think I need to take a deep dive and study this. But that’s why I don’t have a sheer dress. I just figure it will stay in my closet like yours has…despite my heart being in love with it. Thanks for sharing – Angie, http://www.yourtrueselfblog.com

Hi Angie! As much as I love sheer, it really is fairly difficult to style. You definitely need layers and you also need a cooperative climate, which I do not have! To truly rock sheer the way it is meant to be, I think it needs to be worn in warm weather. I hope you find ways to style something sheer that work for you!
