The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Rompers, Jumpsuits, and Overalls
Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book!
Welcome! This is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book. A while back, Nancy and I started The Bad Buy Book, a monthly series about our worst purchases. It was a lot of fun to do and we both learned something from it, too! Nancy learned that off-white against her face is not the most flattering color. And I learned that I have a serious problem resisting a good thrift shop find when it comes to pieces that fit “good enough” but “not quite right.” However, after running that series for a year, we decided to change it a bit.
For this series, you can choose whether you want to share a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye (which is an item you are going to say good-bye to, previously known as a Bad Buy). We will keep purchasing Bad Buys every now and then for a variety of reasons…it was so cheap, you were in a hurry and really wanted (needed) to buy something, it fit almost quite right. But, of course, we also have those purchases that can make us so very happy. A piece of clothing that you have had for years and that you also wear a lot. Or something you bought on a holiday and every time you wear it you get that nostalgic holiday feeling back. Every month you can choose which item you want to submit. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide the theme for each month. Photos should be submitted to us by the 10th of the month with a few sentences explaining why it is a Good Buy or Good-Bye.
And now without further delay, let me share with you the Rompers, Jumpsuits, and Overalls that have been submitted this month. Also, remember to visit Nancy’s Fashion Style as well to see some more! Hopefully, you will find some styling inspiration from these one piece wonders of style!
And let me start with my wonderfully beautiful and understanding co-host, Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style, with her Good Buy Jumpsuit in summery chambray. (Sorry, Nancy, that I am so late on this! Damn that wine!)
Next is another wonderfully beautiful blogger friend, Jodie of Jodie’s Touch of Style with her Good Buy Jumpsuit in sassy snakeskin.
“Here’s my photo for the jumpsuit post. I just bought this one this year and I feel like I’m going to wear the heck out of it!! It’s snakeskin, and who doesn’t love how everything goes with it??”
Jodie of Jodie’s Touch of Style
I am so glad that my gorgeous friend Lisa of Coast to Coast could join us this month with her Good Buy “Jumpsuit” in whimsical floral.
“If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, is it always a duck? I’ll let you figure that out, but I can tell you that just because it looks like a jumpsuit doesn’t necessarily always mean it is a jumpsuit. I found the holy grail of jumpsuits for my body type in the form of two pieces. Want to know what’s even better? There are so many ways I can wear them both and get the most bang for my buck. So when looking for jumpsuits, don’t pigeon hole yourself to those that are only one piece. Think outside the box and you just might find the best one yet.”
Lisa of Coast to Coast
The lovely Nailil of Thirty Minus One shared a fabulous green leafy jumpsuit that was also a Good Buy.
“This jumpsuit is a new favorite! It is under $20 and I’m all about affordability. In fact, I’ve been finding some great Rompers & Jumpsuits at Burkes Outlet. While, I wasn’t sure about jumpsuits at first, these have quickly become a favorite. This one I love because being short and petite means that garments usually fit too long. Since this is a jogger style jumpsuit, I don’t have to worry about that. It fits very flattering. Plus, the print is absolutely on trend for summer! This is definitely a Good-Buy!!”
Nailil of Thirty Minus One
The fabulous Leslie of Once Upon a Time & Happily Ever After also shared a Good Buy Jumpsuit in a beautiful pastel stripe.
“The Good Buy is from Loft Outlet. It was on sale, is so comfortable and can be dressed up or down. Hope now that I have lost about 5 pounds, it will look even better!”
Leslie of Once Upon a Time & Happily Ever After
And next is one of my favorite readers and self proclaimed “admirer and friend to bloggers, Jude, with her Good Buy Overalls in an adorable print from EvaTrends. She loves EvaTrends as much as I do and has 3 pairs of their fun overalls!
And finally my Not-So-Sure-Yet-If-It-Is-a-Good-Buy-or-Good-Bye-Romper.
“I am still deciding if this off-white romper is a Good Buy. I recently bought it at Kohl’s and I absolutely love the fit and style. It is so comfortable, too. But my word, going to the bathroom is giant hassle! It ties at the neck and the waist, so there is a lot of undoing and redoing just to use the toilet! It is a Good Buy as far as style and comfort go, but I am undecided yet if I will say Good-Bye to it due to its inconvenience. Maybe I will give it another try first.”

And now hop on over to Nancy’s post to see some more Rompers, Jumpsuits, and Overalls!
The theme for July will be Shorts. So send us some of your favorite (or least favorite) Shorts. Shorts are always tricky to find the right fit for your body type, so this should be an interesting theme to see what you all share. Whether you love or hate them, we want to see them!
Send your photos with a few sentences describing your Good Buy or Good-Bye and we will put you in the spotlight! Please submit your photos with a brief description by the 10th of May to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to nancy@nancysfashionstyle.com.
*By joining The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book, you agree to receive a monthly reminder email for this series.
Also, remember to get your entries in for a chance to win a $500 shopping spree to Country Outfitter! Contest is open until July and you don’t miss you chance at some fabulous items!
Keeping it on the edge,
Shelbee

You all look great in your jumpsuits and playsuits! I don’t have any – the bathroom issue is too tricky with two little boys haha!
Hope that you’re having a wonderful weekend 🙂

Thanks so much, Mica! I think the bathroom issue is tricky regardless of the kid situation! I hope you are enjoying your weekend.

How fun to participate in this feature. Thanks for including me Shelbee!
Looks like I’m the only one ( in this crowd) who favors the humorous, oversized, and comfy approach to this trend! 🙂

Jude, thanks so much for joining us! It was so great to have you! My oversized overalls from EvaTrends were on Nancy’s blog! But I don’t have any of the fun floral ones! Maybe next time I order from them, that’s what I will go for.
