The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Periwinkle and Purple & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #266
Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book!
This is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book. A series that I co-host with Nancy where you can choose whether you want to share a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye (which is an item you are going to say good-bye to, previously known as a Bad Buy). Every month you can choose which item you want to submit. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide the theme for each month. Photos should be submitted to us by the 10th of the month with a few sentences explaining why it is a Good Buy or Good-Bye.
The theme for March is Periwinkle and Purple.
*If you sent me a photo, but do not see it in my post, be sure to check Nancy’s post. If you don’t see your photo on either post, please let us know right away and we will add it. Sometimes the submissions can get lost in the shuffle.
Now let’s check out some of the favorite (or least favorite) periwinkle and purple pieces submitted this month by my perfectly personable pals. (I am an alliteration aficionado, by the way.)
Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style
“Like you can see on my blog, I’m loving purple a lot these days. I shared this look last week and I am so happy with it! Can’t wait to wear it with a white tee and white sneakers when it is a bit warmer! Wouldn’t that look great?”
Nancy
Laura of I Do deClaire
“This very peri sweater is most definitely still in my closet so it was a Good Buy! I just love the color!”
Laura
Sheila of Ephemera
“I love purple in my clothes; this lovely moto-style jacket is velvet and was purchased on consignment last year; the tights are very old, as are the boots. All different shades of purple, peri, whatever you want to call it. They’re all good buys!”
Sheila
Anne of SpyGirl
“I looked through my Purple tag on SpyGirl and discovered this gem. 2011. That time I looked like either a 60’s Palm Springs Swinger or a Psychedelic Wizard. And it’s an awful synthetic. Love the colors and print though. Goodbye caftan, to Poshmark you shall go.”
Anne
Michelle of My Bijou Life
“This periwinkle top is another Poshmark purchase. Given the beading on it, I don’t have cause to wear it often, but I love it. And it goes great with this shawl that I made. So definitely a good buy.”
Michelle
Lesley and Charlotte of Jodie’s Touch of Style
“I’m sending over my mom, Charlotte and Lesley’s outfits with purple. Funny how they both used scarves in their looks!!”
Jodie
Jacqui of Mummabstylish
“I don’t often buy anything in this shade of blue, but I felt it looked nice on and dare I say quite suited me AND it really brightened my mood.”
Jacqui
Tina of Amanda’s Books and More
“Even though I’m not a fashion blogger, I always feel welcome on [Shelbee’s] blog, and so I thought periwinkle is a theme I can do but of flowers instead of fashion. My flowers are the rosy kind, also known as Madagascar periwinkle and Cape periwinkle. They grow and multiply naturally in my garden. They also do well as cut flowers, lasting a super long time. I make little posies like the one below and put them around the house.”
Tina
And me!
“This little purple cropped jacket has proven to be versatile and fun. I found it on Target clearance a few years ago. Definitely a Good Buy!”
Shelbee

Up Next…Easter Eggs
Pick a color, any color(s), that represent(s) Easter Eggs to you! The theme for April’s Good Buy/Good-Bye Book will be Easter Eggs. You can even share your Easter outfits if you’d like. Remember these themes are completely open to your interpretation!
You can even send two photos if you’d like to be featured on both blogs. Remember to include a brief description about your submissions. Please submit your photos and descriptions by the 10th of April to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to info@nancysfashionstyle.com so we can put you in the spotlight!

Love these colors, but don’t have a ton of them in my closet. I do, have a few purple pieces and a few periwinkle tops. They do signify Spring. Love the jacket you are wearing, great Target buy! I am ready for Spring! I was over Winter in Dec!
Have a wonderful week!

Thanks, Jess! I don’t have too much purple in my closet either but I am really digging it right now! I think shades of purple look so great on you especially with your hair color. This little Target jacket was a great find! I also have it in purple camouflage! And I think I was over Winter two Decembers back!

You can send it for the next one (Easter Egg Colors) any time now, Marsha! LOL. By the way, I never photograph a new outfit for this particular series. I always dig through old photos for it. You can do the same! It eases up any time constraints on it.

Love seeing all the purples — I don’t think people realize how versatile purple is. Or, maybe it’s just me, I consider it a neutral. So purple will always be a good buy.
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Thanks so much, Daenel! It really is a very versatile color. It comes in such a huge variety of shades that there’s something that works for every complexion, too. There are definitely shades of purple, probably closer to the burgundies and plums, that I generally wear as neutrals as well.
